Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire Review: _________SUMMARY__________ Harry runs away from the Dursleys yet again and this time he gets to go to an International Quidditch game with Ron and Hermione. Harry is back at Hogwarts for his fourth year of seven, and he is in a big surprise this year. This year there is no Quidditch Cup instead there is a Triwizard Tournament, and a member from each school is selected, but some how so is Harry. Other characters that are picked to participate are Viktor Krum from Durmstrang, Fleur Delacour from Beauxbatons Cedric Diggory from Hogwarts and also Harry. Everyone in the three school was surprised in the outcome. Harry couldn't believe it neither. The first of three competitions was to get the egg of the dragon you picked out of the sack before the competition. Harry faced the Hungarian Horntail the toughest of all the dragons in the tournament. His task was to snatch the golden egg hidden under the dragon, while dodging the attacks the dragon was throwing at him. Will Harry make it alive of will he fall to his dome? The next task was the go swimming in the school lake for something that is very precious to you, but before that you had to crack the code of how to find out what it was. Harry didn't know what was taken from him until he asked where is Ron. Then he relized it was Ron at the bottom of the lake. Does Harry exceed or does time run out and he never sees Ron again? Last, but not least the final task has come, and it is a giant maze which you have to get to the center of the become the champion. Rating: Summary: Harry Potter:and the Goblet of Fire Review: I read the book Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling. This book is about a boy named Harry Potter who goes to a wizarding school called Hogwarts where (this year) they will hold a tournament called the Triwizard Tournament where three different wizards from three different schools, but this year was some what different. The main characters are Harry Potter (he has black hair, can speak Parseltoung, and his parrents have been killed by the imfamous man named Voldemort AKA You-Know-Who), Ron Weasley (a red haired boy, that where's hand me-down clothes mostly, and has a mom, dad, 1 little sister, and 5 older brothers), and Hermione Granger (a russley haired girl, who is a Mud-Blood or is half Muggle and half wizard). This story is a fantasy obviously involving magic. This book is written for young readers, but some words are pretty tough. In the book, when Harry Potter has dreams, it shows the dream as if it were Harry's real life. As you read you might not know it, but there is an inside man working for Voldemort. You will wonder who it is. At least I sure did. I would reccomend this to every age and to people who like magic.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter, as good as its cracked up to be? Review: I think that Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is a great book for people who just want to start getting into fantacy. I agree that the book is very creative and that it shows some new ideas. However, the plot leaves a lot to be desired. J. K. Rowling is making the perfectly normal mistake of fucusing more on the actual fantacy aspects than on developing a good plot. She's using an old, worn-out plot to showcase her creative talents. Here's a breif summary of the plot (punctuated, I'll admit, with side coments from me); At Hogwarts there's to be a tournament of some cind to bring honor to a school and for, yet another, cup of some kind. Of course who should get entered, 'acidenaly', but our big star, Harry Potter. What a surprise. As he works his way through the tournaments chalenges, he and his little sidekicks Ron and Hermione discover some dark plot to, you guessed it, kill Harry originating from that loveable character, the Dark Lord, Voldemort. Gasp. So, unsurprisingly Harry makes it through all the chalenges leading to an action-packed battle with the Dark Lord himself. Oh my. Now maybe the fact that she's used the same plot for the last three books will change as we get farther. I don't know. However, if theres any one who feels the same way I do and would like a slightly more interesting plot (or if you would just like to forgo the pleasure of reading about Harry battle evil, yet again) I have a couple of great books that I would love to suggest.Christopher Paolini's new book Eragon was one of my instant favorites and anything by David Eddings is definitly at the top of my list.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter Review: Harry Potter: AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE, by J.K. Rowling once again made her fans hunger for more. Harry, now 14 and in his fourth year at Hogwarts, gets to experience something he shouldn't have... The Triwizard tournament is being held at Hogwarts this year and one best student from each school will participate. Each contestant must be at least 17 years old and should put their names into the Goblet of Fire, who will choose one representative for each school. Oh, did I say from each school or did I say Harry gets to experience what he shouldn't have? Anyway, the past is the past, and no matter what one say cannot change the book. The book will always be there for someone to pick up and experience the mass variety of emotion, adventure, and fun. The book does not lack in any of the elements of a Harry Potter book, but instead, it adds even more to the expectation of the next book. Characters both new and old, affects Harry and his thoughts. He has to battle those sensations of the Dark Lord, and at the same time find the courage to confront with a "special" girl. Being humorous and adventurous at the same time Harry has the reader on the edge of their chairs just savoring the pages. I would highly recommend this book to all those young readers yearning for some excellent fantasy action. As for older readers, Harry Potter may not be the best book available for you, but still, it is an awesome book to read. You may think it is a childish and immature book to read and something all the youngsters are reading, but there is more to the book. It teaches moral ideas and how to face good & evil at dark times. It is also marked as children's fantasy book, but it doesn't mean one can't pick it up and read it as a young adult. Give it a try, you might like it.
Rating: Summary: Long with Continuity Problems Review: First, it should be said that I did enjoy this book despite its weakeness in comparison with the rest of the series. The major problem with this volume is that it is so long and contains several rather pointless plotlines. The other major problem I had is a glaring continuity/logic fault in the final explanation of what happened over this year at Hogwarts. Without giving anything away, I just don't understand why Voldemort's plan is so complicated. Anyway, you should read it because book five is excellent and you'll be confused if you skip it. On its own, this book is very weak
Rating: Summary: Interesting turn of events...... Review: I thought it was interesting that Quidditch was not a major focus in this book. Finding out other wizardary school out there besides Hogwarts was refreshing. Basically this whole witches and magic is basically global unknown to the muggles of course. This book made you laugh and and times made you wanna cry. Well, all of J.K. Rowling's books make you feel that way. It is me or each book is getting much darker.....this is a another great one J.K. Keep up the good work!!
