Rating: Summary: Wizards. Witchcraft. Magic. Review: Wizards. Witchcraft. Magic. If you find any of those things interesting, then read this book! Harry Potter's life is centered around these three paranormal entities. An orphan at only one year of age, it takes not a genius to infer that Harry has not lived the life of an average 14 year old. In fact, at the tender age of one, he endured an attempt on his life by the most powerful dark wizard since Grindelwald in 1945. Lord Voldemort began his reign of terror several years before Harry was born, killing everyone who stood in his path. One night, he went to the Potter's house seeking to kill them all. He killed Harry's parents easily, but when he tried to kill Harry, the curse rebounded upon himself leaving Lord Voldemort powerless and Harry with a lightning-bolt shaped scar. Now, Harry is a 14 year old whose scar hurts when Lord Voldemort is near or feeling especially murderous. At 734 pages, this book is just some light reading.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth book in this thrilling fantasy series is pivotal. To me, this is my second favorite book in the series behind Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix since the deeper you get into the series the more excitement there is. Unlike previous novels, there is no school Quidditch teams as something larger is happening at Hogwarts - The Triwizard Cup. Every book shows Harry overcoming some difficulty and this event proves to be Harry's predicament in this gripping novel. Every time that you think that you have figured out where this novel is going, it takes another twist. However, the climax of this novel could be expected if you consider what it would take to make the series exciting a few books later. Also, many new characters are added such as a poisonous columnist, Rita Skeeter, as well as characters from Beuaxbatons and Durmstrang, rival European Magic Schools competing against Hogwarts in the Triwizard cup. Naturally death is something that Harry has been accustomed to, but could be prepared for suddenness of it.
The Harry Potter series is full of morals so naturally it did not surprise me due to the nature of this fabulous book that it would continue the series' moral that "It is our choices, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." This book is written in a way that is suited to all audiences. After all, it is about a teenager dealing with much more adult situations. I recommend it to any one who enjoys suspense novels. I am a person who scares easily, yet even due to the horrifying nature of some scenes, I truly found this novel thrilling.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter 4- An Enchanting Delight Review: im on page 288 and so far this is the best book so far i cant stop reading it i got it like 3 days ago, and i cant stop reading it. i read the first second and third, and this is the best so far.
Rating: Summary: Better than COC or SS, but not POA or OOTP Review: I like reading this book and I love the style it was written in. I notice a lot of people who read this book aren't into witchcraft but they still enjoy it. Harry Potter is a good wizard who defeats all the bad guys.
