Summary: THE BEST! 1
Review: If all the Potter books keep getting better like this, we'll have to give the first book less stars! Harry returns for his fourth year at Hogwarts and he's setting publishing records like crazy! He's on every news channel! Anyway in the book, Harry finds love and learns about other wizarding schools. Who is the new defense against the dark arts teacher? The longest and best yet. The number of pages won't stop you from reading it in an hour. The pages really fly and now I am going to e-mail amazon.com and ask them if they know when the fifth book comes out! ... Well you better read this book now and have the best read EVER! 1

Summary: What else can you say? Excellent!
Review: Whatever I expected of this book I got, and am I pleased! This book is still quite appropriate for adults to read... more so than the earlier ones. Although there are some places in the book that Rowling seems to have given in to public pressure (you can see that she changed the story here and there) the overall effect is quite nice. I dont want to spoil any surprises..

go read it.. you will love it!

Summary: Every bit as strong as the first three
Review: I was fully expecting to be let down by this book because of all the hype, but I wasn't. It was suspenseful and dramatic, but it also had heart. I also love how Rowling continues to make the details count - there are little details from the first three books that I didn't even think about that became signifigant. Word of advice though - make sure that you have read the first three books before starting this one. If you don't, you won't understand as much as you should about the plot. The book draws very heavily on the second and third books. I'm not going to say anymore, because it's very important not to give details, since the suprises are what makes the book special. However, suffice it to say that I am very, very pleased, and I am not looking forward to waiting another year for the next book!

Summary: At last
Review: What can I say about such an overly hyped book as this? Only that is was well worth the wait! For all of you who have never read any of the Potter books (could there really be people who haven't read at least one?) think of these books as a series of magical mysteries.

It's life as usual for Harry at the beginning of the book, which has him spending yet another dreadful summer with his hateful guardians, the Dursleys. (Imagine Dudley Dursley on a diet! Try saying that 3 times fast...) Things pick up when Harry goes to the Quiddich World Cup with the Weasleys. And life at Hogwarts is as interesting (and occasionally dangerous) as always with it's oddball assortment of students and professors. Naturally, there is a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher (my but they do keep going through them, don't they?) Along the way, we will learn about other schools like Hogwarts (it's about time!) And a new villain - or should I say villainess - is introduced. Someone who definately keeps Harry on his toes. All the while Harry and his 2 best friends, Ron and Hermione, become entangled with the mystery of The Goblet of Fire....

With characteristic abandon, Rowling creates familiar busy backdrop for Harry and friends as she pushes him through a series of terrifying encounters, the usual mischief and mayhem, new revelations (and, of course, rousing games of Quidditch)

It's delightful to see how Rowling can stay true to the feel of the previous books, and yet allow Harry and friends to mature (ex: As the kids are officially teenagers now, hormones will kick in for Harry, Ron and Hermione... but they all fall in love with the wrong people! Harry especially has some difficulties in this area.)

Be prepared: this is a darker book than the first 3. Some well known characters die -- one of whom is well liked by readers. The ending of the book is frightening compaired to the previos books but is a necessary evil for Harry as the older he gets, the more he learns about his past. JK Rowling has stated that each new book gets progressively darker so as to tie in with the overall plot.

As always she writes with a deft touch. This deliciously suspenseful novel is every bit as gripping and imaginative as the previous books -- full of unexpected twists and turns. A delight to be savored, especially you are, like me, already awaiting the next one.

Summary: The fourth Harry Potter a winner
Review: This book is the fourth in the Harry Potter series. It is easily the best of the lot. However, it is probably too intense for the younger readers that have enjoyed the earlier books. I would not recommend it for any child under the age of ten. Older children are in for a genuine treat. It is well paced, with the mixture of adventure, suspense and whimsy that characterized the earlier books. The size of the book, 734 pages, is less of a problem than might be expected. Nothing is wasted in this book, there is no literary fat. The size is actually nice as it simply means less time spent between finishing this book and waiting for the next one to be published.

Summary: Could this saga get any better? I doubt so!
Review: Who can resist a Harry Potter tale?

J. K. Rowling has proven again that her international success seemed inevitable -- from the first page of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the story soars.

It is beautifully written, with a strong narrative and fascinating, unforgettable characters, and there is not a reader in the world who won't love this book.

The novel is long - more than 700 pages -- and not one word is wasted.

Now, my only problem is I need to find Harry so I can start classes at Hogwarts, soon. I sent him a message by owl, just this morning...

Summary: not as good as the first three put together!
Review: I was able to get my hands on a copy of book 4, about two weeks ago, thanks to some people I know in the book business. Here are some of the reasons I did not like the book:1. I thought book 4 lacked the imagination of the previous books.2. I felt the quality of content in book 4 was poor.To me quality of content meansgiving your readers your best effort. A good example is book 1. you felt you were there observing everything. I did not get this feeling from book 4.3. I felt the stickability factor was very low. To me stickability is the power to get you involved with a character in the book. Even tho the quality is very low, I like the fact that this book will get kids to shut off their computers and other electronic time killers encourage them to read the 700plus pages. Please remember to pass your copy of the book to your friends and loved ones or donate it to your school library when your done with it. Your library will be able to share the book with students unable to buy the book.

Summary: No spoilers in this review, but READ this book!
Review: The sheer size of this book amazed me, but in spite of the large number of pages, there's hardly one that is not important to the story or just plain interesting. When I thought one chapter couldn't be topped, I was proved wrong.

Except for some parts (very few!) everything just flowed. We find out more about old friends and acquaintances, meet yet *another* D.A.D.A teacher, and as ever, there are some surprise developments -- not always happy ones though.

"Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" is definitely a must-read. The Harry Potter story has just gotten much more intense. The young characters are growing up and things are going to be harder for everyone.

Now the wait for Book 5 -- which seems to promise a reunion of "the old crowd", as Dumbledore calls them, so it looks like another of my favorite characters is returning! Yes!

Summary: perhaps the best of the series
Review: Unless you've been living under a rock for the last two years, you've heard all about the exploits of one Harry Potter and his merry cadre of magic-makers and spell-casters. He's made the cover of Time and he's captured the heart of readers everywhere- and, for once, as "Rolling Stone" said about A Confederacy of Dunces, everyone is right. J.K. Rowling's got a knack for effortlessly clean writing that is enviable. In this, the latest, the scenario doesn't skew in the least- Harry gets himself into a load of difficulties and traumas, often inadvertently, sometimes with the help of his ultimate nemesis, Voldemort. Rowling sends the reader into a labyrinth of twists and turns- this is easily the most sprawling of the four thus far released, at a hefty 752 pages- and one emerges, after another breathtaking ending sequence, with a far better portrait of exactly who Harry Potter is. To reveal any more would be to reveal too much. Suffice it to say- it's worth the hype. And then some.
