Summary: Keeps you on the edge of your seat
Review: I've just spent the day reading Harry Potter and the Goblet ofFire--now how long til Book 5?

Harry seems to be growing up, and Ithought all the main characters were much more interesting and complicated in this book than they have been. I suppose there's quite a lot of difference between 11 and 14. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are still entirely likeable, and there are some important changes in their relationships brewing. Many new characters are introduced here as well, and obviously many of them will be recurring characters in Harry's last years at Hogwarts. I was particularly interested in what happened with Snape!

The book is tightly plotted, and very intense. I wouldn't recommend it for young readers--if you thought the dementors were scary, wait until the end of this book! But it's definitely up to the hype, and will have readers waiting for the next installment.

Summary: The best one yet...
Review: This volume in the Harry Potter series is the best one! Fromthe thrill of a new event to seeing other students from otherwizarding schools, the whole thing is a great read. It's also a good laugh; from the Floo Powder escapade to the Ton Tongue toffees...you'll have to read it to find out more! Also a bit dark; after the death of a character.

Summary: Ms. Rowling does it yet again
Review: Wow! i read this book and i loved it! (for the most partanyways) i couldn't put it down. the plot was very clever andinteresting (though it dragged in a few parts). the book was definitly darker and scarier, but it still retained the charm that was in the first 3. J K Rowling has this knack of leading you to believe one thing and twisting it all around... wonderfully done!

Summary: Awesome!
Review: When the Triwizard Competition comes, and all wizards and witches ageseventeen older can put their name in the Goblet of Fire to enter thecontest, Harry thinks he will just get to stand on the sidelines and watch the contest. But somehow his name is picked. How did his name get in?

I think the book was great. It has its really funny parts too. I think this book is the best so far.

Summary: Returning the books I bought
Review: My wife, daughter and I bought 3 books at 12:01 AM on July 8th so we each could have one to read at our leisure. My wife and I inscribed: "We love you" into our 9-year-old daughter's book. We cannot return that book because we wrote in it, but the other 2 are going back.

The first three books had an acceptable balance of intrigue and humor. Book 4 is offensive and certainly is not for children. I can't read book 4 to my daughter.

We are very disappointed. I hope book 5 is better.

Summary: Things Get Darker and More Complicated for Harry...
Review: This is a good fourth book - despite it being 700+ pages. There's magic, mayhem and murder and interesting plot twists for which the books are famous. Honestly, the book could have been shorter by about half, but the writing and inventive magic and monsters will keep you entertained. It leaves much more of a 'cliffhanger' ending than the first three, but you'll have to buy it to find out what He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is up to this time...
