Rating: Summary: Best Harry So Far! Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The inclusion of the Quidditch World Cup and the Triwizard Tournament at Hogwarts gave this book an exciting twist. The only problem I have is now I have to wait another year for Harry Potter 5!Also, I was sad to see the only Quidditch game played being the World Cup and not seeing Harry and the team try to defend the title(not to mention who would replace Oliver Wood!)
Rating: Summary: Magic words enchant our imagination Review: "This book was great!" That's all I'l say for now as that really sums it up, and not to give away the plot of course. Jk.Rowling Thank you once again. Yours, a fan.
Rating: Summary: A classic... Review: After eading the first three novels in the Harry Potter series, I rated them on a scale of one to ten, and this is what I got: Book 1=9 Book 2=8 Book 3=10 Well, after three absolutely awesome books, you'd think that the third book might falter a little. Well, here's the rating for it:Book 4=11. Yes, that's right, 11. This book has possibly the best story out there right now, and it is basically flawless in all aspects. High Points: Wonderful story with much depth and thinking put into it; longer story holds for a better chance at telling what the author had in her mind when she wrote it; absolutely immersive world; lives up to the amazing amount of hype put into it. Low Points:I know that I said the story was perfect, and it is, but it's not the story that I have a problem with: to me it's the fact that it's a lot darker than the last book, and it has a considerably larger amount of curse words, and that it's being marketed as a book that an 8 year old should read. Overall: One of the best stories I have ever read. Go buy it now.
Rating: Summary: Extraordinary! Review: I was of two minds about this book. One, I was afraid that it might not live up to my expectations (which, after months of waiting, were fairly high). On the other hand, I was hopeful that it would be just as much fun as the others. Well, thankfully, it was the second! Within ten minutes of opening the book, I was back in Harry Potter's life, where you're just as likely to get an earwax bean as a peach-flavor, where Floo powder rather then cars are the norm, and where magic is part of everyday life. There were the twists and turns we have come to expect from this author, and a few in-jokes, and of course, the hilarity that keeps us reading. I did a marathon read after recieving it at 9;15 this morning, and finished at 11 pm. Like the end of Prisoner of Azkaban says, it was as though I'd swallowed a bottle of hot butterbeer in one gulp. It was that good. The story, specifically the end, was more intense then anything Harry has experienced yet. Parents especially might want to read the end with their younger children (8 and under). I refuse to give away any spoilers, since this book MUST be read first-hand to get the full effect. Five stars, because sixteen million is not an option!
Rating: Summary: Caught the snitch again-another Harry Potter win Review: In my opinion the best of all four books. Some real surprises and some sadness. The books are definetly taking a darker turn but the writing and plotting are both first rate. A hint. Someone does die but I am not telling. I had heard it but it kept me turning pages to find out who. If you liked the previous books you should love this one. The only complaint I had was that Harry didn't get to play Quiditch. (Read the book to find out why.) :)
Rating: Summary: Wonderful New Masterpiece! Review: The new Harry Potter is absolutely outstanding. J.K. Rowling has outdone herself with this 752 page masterpiece! Harry Potter finds himself in new situations with the same fascinating friends to help him through the hard times. Although he doesn't try to attract it, more and more people are awestruck by Harry (and not just us real Muggles). Harry finds his love, his courage, and a whole lot more in this stunning new book.
Rating: Summary: The magic continues: living up to the hype & worth the wait Review: Rowling weaves her magic once again! Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is another great read! Authors who write series and become immensely popular sometimes fall into a pit of formulaic writing. Given the incredible hype prepatory to this book's release and the splash that Rowling has made around the world in both children and adult books, I was concerned that this book couldn't possibly live up to it's press; but Rowling proves herself to be a wizard of words. The fourth Harry Potter book is as riveting as the first. I found the book spellbinding from the first page to the last. I'm already looking forward to the next book.
Rating: Summary: New Harry Potter -A Disappointment Review: The new Harry Potter book was a dissapointment. Half the bookwas unneeded, and pointless. It was way too evil and sinister. I thinkthat J.K Rowling should have kept in mind who her audience was and what they would have enjoyed when she wrote the book.I would have preferred a few more uplifting scenes, rather than all the wicked and sinister ones. This book makes J.K Rowling look bad, and casts a dark shadow on the previous and future books.
Rating: Summary: IT Will blow you off your feet Review: This book is up to the hightest expectations you could set! The first capter starts with Lord Voldemorts whereabouts, and thenmoves on to Harry Potter himself.
Rating: Summary: A little more grown up Review: In her latest Harry Potter book, J.K. Rowling once again brings vividly to life the fascinating world of witches and wizards. Yet, on this go-around, the characters are a little more sophisticated, a little more intelligent, and even a little funnier. Ron Weasley seems to have grown up the most and his sense of humor is a delight throughout the book. Even Hermione takes things a little more in stride. The developing relationship between these two is even more proof that Rowling is aware of the changes in her readers. On the whole, this book is filled with fascinating magic, fierce struggles between good and evil, detailed characterizations, and plain old suspense. Harry Potter might be the main character, but he would be lifeless if it were not for the enchanting world in which he lives. This is another excellent book from J.K. Rowling, so don't let the length bother you. 734 pages fly by in no time, and soon you're left waiting for the next adventures of Harry Potter.
