Summary: The Latest and the Greatest From J.K Rowling
Review: Pre-ordering this book was the greatest idea I've had. Finishing the 734 page book in less than six hours should show exatly how great this book is for a Potter-loving Muggle. As with her prior books, Rowling engrosses the reader the land of wizardry and magic. Like Prisoner of Azkaban, Rowling brings characters from past books into a whole new light. A great read for Muggles of all ages.

Summary: Harry Potter Strikes Again!
Review: This book was definately as good as the other books (if not better). It was funnier than the rest, with jokes all over. It had an interesting twist at the end with alastor moody not really being alastor moody, although sad when Cedric Diggory died. It was also interesting to see a Harry Potter book without quiddich matches. I think that put a great twist in. summing everything up here makes the book a little better than I expected. This really was a good book

Summary: I couldn't put it down, I hated to see it end!
Review: This was the best yet! Even though it was over 700 pages it ended too soon. I can't believe I have to wait so long for the next book. I don't want to say too much about the contents because I wouldn't want to spoil anything but I will say hints of romance and death come in the most unexpected places, to the most unexpected people.

It is filled with all of the elements we've come to love and expect in the first three books. Advebture, suspense and a big dash of J.K. Rowling's wonderful imaignation!

Anyone that likes Harry Potter will love this book. If you haven't read HP yet, what are you waiting for? But start with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and read them in the order they were written.

By the way, I'm the mother. I got hold of it before my twelve year old daughter who's reading it now.

Summary: Praise for Harry Potter #4...The wait was worth it!
Review: Well, here it is! The fourth installment of the beloved Harry Potter series! Many of us have but one question on our mind, so when's the next one coming out? This thrilling novel of romance, mystery, and adventure is a page-turner from page 1 to 800. Though an exceptionally long story, J.K. Rowling carefully placed each detail leaving not one string untied. Rumors were plentiful upon the release of this book but I will answer one for you. There is a death. The rest you must find out for yourself. Several...hm...emotional changes occur for the characters in this book and one may have even found true love. Hey, it's possible! Finally, a villian pretending to be a friend surfaces and leads Harry right to...well, read and find out! Also, a friend and foe of Harry make several apperances. A fabulous story of love, mystery, adventure, and growing up in the fascinating world of Harry Potter.

Summary: Excellent piece of listening, great piece of literature
Review: This audio casette for Harry Potter IV, "The Goblet of Fire" is a smash. With Jim Dale's British accent, you can here how the names are suppost to be pronouced and understand the French words, like Flur Delacore, which means flower of the heart in French. The book overall is great, with the exciting return of You-know-who and Wormtail in the first chapter, talking about murder, and plotting another. The frighting ways of J.K. Rowling and the wonderful speaking of Jim Dale make this audio cassette wonderful. This is for sure the best piece of writing served up by J.K. Rowling. This book is the most frightining and best with another meeting with Padfoot, most known as Sirius Black, The Triwizard Tourtment, and as always the evil of Lord Voldemort, read out loud in a frighting, absolutely great confection of writing and audio speaking. Superb book and audio!

Summary: Another Winner from JK Rowling
Review: JK Rowling has done it again! The latest in the Harry Potter series is far longer than the previous books and deals with more grown-up issues of death, love, and betrayal. There is the usual hi-jinks of Harry and the gang against Draco Malfoy and his gang, but the main event of this book is not the usual interhouse Quidditch match, it is the more dangerous TriWizard Tournement consisting of 3 champions from 3 different wizardry schools all competing in 3 different tasks with the winner taking home 1000 Galleons. Harry also has other things on his mind, thinking about Cho Chang from Ravenclaw and realizing that she's more than just a really good Quidditch player. We learn more about the Dark Arts and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. I don't want to spoil anything for anybody, so I am just going to say that the latest Harry Potter was worth the wait and now I can't wait for the 5th one to see where the next adventure takes us! I think that with all the hype everyone and his brother will be reading this book, and it lives up to the hype!

Summary: Rite of Passage
Review: Children's literature tends to be the great equalizer: if a book is good, really good, when you're a kid, it will stand up to repeated readings throughout your life. J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series has managed to captivate adults and children alike, so much so that the advance publicity for the fourth volume--HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE--has achieved epic proportions. Could ANY book live up to all the hype? In this case, the answer is: Yes. The story begins as the now 14-year-old Harry weathers another summer with his hated and hateful relations, the Dursleys, and eagerly looks forward to the Quidditch World Cup, to which he has been invited by his best friend, Ron Weasley. But Harry and the Weasleys soon have more on their minds than wizard sports: a series of bizarre and frightening events unfold at the match that prove to have lasting repercussions for all who attended. Back at Hogwarts for his fourth year, Harry soon learns of another surprise--namely, the Triwizard Tournament, a magical contest that is to take place between Hogwarts and two more wizarding schools. Three champions, one chosen from each school by the Goblet of Fire, compete against each other in feats of magical skill and daring. Owing to the high risk factor involved, however, Headmaster Dumbledore has decreed that only students 17 and older may submit their names for contention as school champion. An intrigued Harry looks forward to watching the excitement from the sidelines, along with pals Ron and Hermione. But on the day that the champions are to be chosen, the Goblet of Fire spits out the name of an unprecedented fourth champion: Harry Potter. Shocked and more than a little alarmed by this surprise development, Harry now finds himself competing against much older students, who regard him with scorn and hostility, facing the jealousy of his peers (including Ron), and ultimately, fighting not only for school honor but for his very life. HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE has rightly been referred to as a pivotal installment in the series, for it is in this volume that Harry makes the transition from child to adolescent. Besides the Triwizard Tournament and the complications it brings to his life, Harry is also contending with the problems of any normal teenage boy, such as the onset of puberty and unrequited first love. School continues to present its own challenges--the animosity between Harry and Potions Professor Severus Snape remains undiminished--and, as rumored, the death of a major character casts a shadow over Harry's life, even as it clarifies the ordeal that awaits him in the future: a final confrontation with the evil wizard, Lord Voldemort. A darker book than its predecessors (though still possesing its trademark humor), GOBLET OF FIRE tackles weightier themes adroitly and with sensitivity. J. K. Rowling's writing seems to have matured, along with her young hero. Put this volume (after a satisfactory number of re-readings) on the shelf beside its precursors and wait in eager expectation for the fulfillment that is to come.
