Rating: Summary: JKRowling has done it again Review: Harry Potter is off and running again in this wonderfully written saga of his fourth year at Hogwarts. The new characters are as rich and exciting and all of the ones we have come to love. The Triwizard Tournament is suspenseful yet humor and adolesencent fun are there too. I hope you all enjoy this book as much as I did and I can't wait for the fifth year at Hogwarts!
Rating: Summary: A strong entry in the series Review: I really enjoyed this book. There is not a lot I can say in detail. Savvy readers of the previous books will find themselves unavoidably reaching premature conclusions if I say anything other than this was a very good book. As has been stated in the press, this book is a turning point for the series. It maintains all of the familiar elements while continuing to grow in a constantly maturing fashion. I hope you all enjoy the book as much as I did.
Rating: Summary: Wow! Review: If you've ever read a book and liked it alot, you'll have the same feeling with this, but times 100. It is mixed with lots of emotions. Sad, funny, happy, scared. It is a great book overall. Definately get it!
Rating: Summary: ! Review: Rather than begin by summarizing the story, I shall straight off say that this book, Rowling's most expensive, most lengthy and by far the most anticipated (I don't remember any all night parties for Book 2, do you?) definately gives the reader a run for their money. The 700 page novel is filled to brim with action though, as one might expect with a book of such length, runs on a bit. But take note, it DEFINATELY does not drag. In fact the story is a page turner right to the very end. As with many good books, the reader is dragged in and the size of the book is forgotten in the intensity of the story. Personally I liked seeing the magical world expanded as new nationalities of wizards and witches are introduced. I do not consider this the greatest novel of all time, it does exhibit literary weaknesses. Some characters instead of taking on more depth as the story unfolds are merely reiterated somewhat incessantly. Is the ending needlessly complicated? I think that once unfolded, the villains' evil plans are extremely confusing. However, Rowling is dealing with an imaginary and magical world, none too simple in its workings and which must be explained without contradicting itself. The books many adventures may be a bit confusing and drawn out for younger audiences but it is certainly one of the most exciting children's novels to come along in a while. Above all Rowling exhibits a definate flair for humor, and suspense. Without a doubt her imaginative and colorful storytelling are her greatest assets. The characters and the world she creates reveal an imagination rivaling that of George Lucas. This 4th installment is a worthy addition to the shelf of previously acclaimed Harry Potter novels and lives up to the illustrious legacy. A good buy, whether you've read all the books or not. Indeed, Rowling hasn't lost her touch.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Review: I absolutley loved this book from the moment my eyes touched the page. I liked it because Harry Potter is one of the most wonderful and well rounded characters, that one cannot help but be engrossed. Harry, in his 4th year at Hogwarts, is saddened that there will be no Quidditch this year, but delighted that a TriWizard Tournament will take it's place. There is only one problem... only students over 17 can enter their names in the Goblet of Fire, which is the Goblet that a student enters his or her name. To ensure this rule, Dumbledore draws an age line around the Goblet. But somehow.....some way, Harrys name gets in....and sure enough, his name is called. No one knew, that this, this simple, friendly tournament, could be linked with the Dark Lord... that could lead to Voldemort full power... This book, filled with excitement and horror, will have you hooked from beginning to end.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter Strikes Back! Review: OK. This book IS big. But don't let its size fool you! It starts off with a bang (somebody gets murdered! Honest!), bogs down just a little bit for a while, and then, and THEN.... but that would be telling! Anyway, there are at least TWO book's worth of action and excitement in this latest 'chapter' in the on-going adventures of Harry. Get it -- today!
Rating: Summary: I loved it! Review: i think that the goblet of fire was her greatest book yet. it was longer than all the other ones, and that made it even better. It was also slightly darker and more adult than the other books, although it did have its share of funny moments. I would definitely recomend this book to anyone, kid or adult.
Rating: Summary: Awsome Review: It was the best book of the series, plus it took more than a day for me to read it
Rating: Summary: Simply smitting Review: This book has been the best that I have read in my entire being. Everything grows more and more ominous in this book, as it's setting the stage for a Voldemort more powerful in future books. JK Rowling overdid herself, and I still feel as if I am in her magical world, simply stunning! I encourage everyone to read this
Rating: Summary: Book 4 best so far! Review: After I first read book 4 of this very popular series I was AMAZED how much detail can be put into 1 book! During the whole book I was kept captive my the emense detail and color of Rowling's 4th novel and just could not put it down for a second. This book will capture your interest and heart from the moment you pick it up intill the moment you finish the last and then you'll want to pick it up and start the adventure once more. I would reccomend this book to people of all ages and although some have critizied it I cannot find a reason through out the book that would want make me put it down much less denounce it!
