The suspence was so high i had read over 600 pages by that afternoon. it clearly said to all who have read it or probobly will in the future that the author has a very enchanting talent in writing books, for i cannot wait until 5th harry potter book comes. this book is a must for all who likes fantasy books.
Rating: Summary: Hooray! Harry's back. Review: For the most part, this book was as entertaining and hard to put down as the first three books in the series. However, it contained aome events that were disturbing. This is a book that you'll want to read before your younger children do so that you can discuss it with them. Although the author does a pretty good job catching up on the storyline of the first three, it would still be hard to understand everything without having read the other books in the series. It's a fun and suspenseful book to read, and I think that most Harry Potter fans won't be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: A 9-year-old's View: Harry's Spell Continues Review: The newest Harry Potter book, which is definitely the most hyped, is a very important book in terms of plot. For example, the green light from Harry's dreams is identified as a spell, and Snape's past is finally revealed. But is an explaining book an exiting book? In this case, yes. The big showdown at the end is the best one yet, and even in the middle there is almost as much action as the ends of previous Harry Potters. Is the hyped-up fourth book worth taking your sister's Pikachu alarm clock and 101 Dalmatians sleeping bag to the bookstore or waiting a hundred years for the FedEx truck? Consider these warnings first. If you have not read the third book ("Prisoner of Azkaban"), "Goblet of Fire" ruins "Prisoner's" surprise. And you shouldn't spend all night on it like I did. Aside from that, go ahead! But it may not be worth all the newspaper articles and yellow bookstore signs it got.
Rating: Summary: A worthy successor Review: Despite the longer length of Harry Potter #4, the book seemed to fly by. This is just as good as the first three, sucessfully creating the world of Wizards and particularly the Hogwarts school. Like in the previous volumes, Harry and his friends must fight Dark Magic, without knowing for sure who they can trust. Highlights include Hermoine's campaign to help house elves and Percy Weasley's new job, which makes him even more self important than he was as a prefect. The only complaint I really have is that so many new characters are introduced I began to have trouble keeping them straight. Fans of Harry will not be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Best one yet! Review: This was absolutely the best Harry Potter book yet. It was very long but worth it to read every page. This book has everything you could ever ask for in a good story. Mystery, suspense, humor, and even a bit of romance. This book is so much more detailed than the first three, and has such a wonderful yet complex plot, I could hardly beleive that J.K. Rowling had outdone herself when I was finished. I never could have predicted the ending (kind of sad, if you ask me.) If I could give this book a million stars I would, but the limit is five. I am only 13 and can't really compare this book to other great things people have read in their adult years, but I can assure you this is the best book I have ever read. I don't want to give too much away, but this book had me hooked from the first chapter about the Riddle House all the way through to the end of the Triwizard Tournament. If I say any more, I will spoil the best book in the world. Go read it! Unless you're too much of a muggle, of course.
Rating: Summary: The best book I have ever read! Review: The sheer size of the book was a little intimidating, but after reading it, I am totally blown away by the intricate and decisive plotlines that J.K. Rowling can weave. The ending of the book just pulled me in, and I was totally absorbed in the mayhemed world of Harry Potter. If you have read the first three, you MUST read this one, and even if this is the first you've heard of Harry Potter,(where have you been?) you still must read it!
Rating: Summary: Absoulutely Wonderful Review: I've read up to chapter 27 and already I think this is the best of the four. In his fourth year Harry learns much about friendships, and house-elves. There is yet another Defense against the Dark Arts teacher along with a whole cast of new and exciting characters. I haven't put the book down since yesterday when I got it. This is definitely the best!
Rating: Summary: JK did it again Review: I startind to read the book and it pulled me right in. I didnt sleep or eat till i finished all 732 pages. It was full of unexpected turns combining mystery fantisy and adventure all into one. I jut cant wait to read the 5th one.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter/Goblet of Fire worth every bit of commotion! Review: We all waited with bated breath for the tale of Harry's fourth year at Hogwarts....the biggest question was not whether or not Harry would fall in love, or whether Hagrid would make it through another year as a professor. The biggest question was whether or not J.K. Rowling would be able to sustain the excitement, the fascination, the following that was generated by books 1, 2, and 3. I am thrilled to say that she has. Rowling has to be magical herself to be able to continue at this level. Without giving away any of the plot I can confirm: Yes, someone does die, and no, Harry doesn't fall in love. Snape still hates Harry, and stoops terribly low to show his hatred. Ron's family is still poor, Hermione is still living in the library. Malfoy is still proving that Malfoy and malevolent come from the same Latin root. To say anything more would be to ruin it for anyone that hasn't read it yet. My only disappointment is that I'll have to wait so long for the next installment.
Rating: Summary: A fantastic adventure Review: I would highly recommend this book. I don't know if you ever get migraine headaches but I've had one all weekend from summer school yet I still couldn't put this book down. The mystery is so enthralling, the adventure so exciting, and the fantasy so spelllbinding that it makes a very easy yet enjoyable read. The reader cannot help but relate to Harry's problems even though they're a world apart. That's probably what is so unique about the book: Although it very obviously happens in an alternate reality where magic happens, the people could easily be real. Coming of age, prejudice, power hungriness, and hate are all the same issues in Harry's world as in ours. Anyways, the only thing I was disappointed about was that the ending was less than emotionally fulfilling. Yet being the turning point in the series, I cannot think of anything else that could have made sense. Hence 5 stars, hence read the book.
