Rating: Summary: Even better than I hoped for! Review: This was a very enjoyable book. I think it far exceeds her other three in quality of writing and the storyline. The length just flies by because the entire book is filled with action and dilemmas, and of course Harry Potter rises to meet each one. I could hardly put the book down and was sad when I came to the last page. It has an ending that leaves you hanging and I can't wait until the fifth one comes out. If you are the parent of a young child, I suggest reading the book along with them or before they do because the book deals with some very heavy issues that parents might want to address with their children. I do not think that the issues distract from the story, but rather add to it. Children, however, may become upset if they are unable to talk to someone about their feelings. This is a wonderful story and I would reccomend it to anyone.
Rating: Summary: Book 4 The Best Yet Review: I couldn't put it down. From beginning to end, the plot twists that JK Rowling imagines are amazing. Harry's adventures get more and more elaborate and more and more dangerous. The longest book yet and still not long enough to keep the reader from longing for the next. The quidditch tournament was very exciting and that is just the opening of the Harry's fourth year at Hogwarts. If only my classes were as exciting
Rating: Summary: The Return of Harry Potter Review: The wait is over...the lines have dissipated...all that remains are the half empty bookstores that braved thousands over the weeekend. The question is, was it worth waiting up till midnight to be able to secure a copy of the fourth book? Did Rowling understand what was expected of her? The answer is unequivocaly yes. She has taken her series to the next level. She understands that most readers of her books are no longer just kids, but people of all ages. I am a college student and was shocked at how much I enjoyed this. It's as fast paced as any thriller and more imaginative than any fantasy written today. The book starts with our intrepid hero Harry ending another summer with those beastly Muggles also known as the Dursleys. Then he is whisked away with by the Weasleys to the World Cup. Its amazing that you are almost 200 pages in until he starts his fourth year at Hogwarths, a school for wizards. The book takes awhile to propel the main plot foward and parts are easy to predict (after all our hero must always be in the center stage), but none of this matters. This book manages to rise above the previous three and the ending is certainly chilling. I wait with abated breath until the next one in the series comes out. The series is now truly starting in my opinion...
Rating: Summary: worth the wait! Review: I've been waiting for this book ever since #3 came out, and I was thrilled to find it in my mail box yesterday morning. I spent all day reading it, and it didn't disappoint. The story is as engaging as ever, and it fills us in on more of Harry and his past. We also find out more about other central figures. This book is occasionally rather creepy, a nice contrast to the breezy style Rowling sometimes employs. I'm 20 years old, and I find myself giggling like a 10-year-old over Harry Potter. I know #4 just came out, but I can't wait for the next one!
Rating: Summary: really lives up to the hype Review: this much anticipated fourth book really does live up to the hype. although much longer than the previous books it really kept my son and i both rapt with excitement. i would recommend it to any harry potter fan. definitely read the first three books before this one , though.
Rating: Summary: It really IS a pivotal book... and it's really good. Review: I suppose I ought to state at the outset that I'm a 27-year-old fan of the series. I confess that when I first found out how long this book was going to be, I was a bit concerned. In some ways, it's easier to write a long novel than a short one, and I was afraid that perhaps, just perhaps, Rowling had opted for quickly writing a more sprawling book, rather than taking the time to make it tighter.I needn't have worried. This book is longer, yes, but it never drags, and seems remarkably free of padding. It has more events taking place and a more intricate plot... and it sets the stage for what's to come, which I'm looking forward to reading. Rowling clearly knows what she's doing. Upon finishing page 734 (the day after starting the book), I closed my eyes, hugged the book tightly to my chest, and sighed contentedly. If you liked the first three books, you won't be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Wonderous Wonder Review: The book was Great! The only regrets I have about reading it so soon is that I have to wait so long for the next one! Great characters and a great plot.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter flying High with the Goblet of Fire Review: Finaly its come Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. And with it comes a whole new adventure with more laughs, and fun then ever. No doubt about it this book matches the wits and the fun as the last three. This book takes Harry back to Hogwarts school for wichcraft and wizardry for the forth year. There he meets up with his two best friends Ron and Hermione and meets his old enemy Lucius Malfoy. He is also introduced to his old teachers and meets new friends. I dont want to give away any of the many surprises that are in this book but the ending is action packed and filled with excitment. So please do me a favor and do yourself a favor and get this book it is just as good as the last three if not even better. It is written beautifuly and you will enjoy it from begining till end. I have already been cast into the magic spell with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire I hope you will too.
Rating: Summary: Yet another excellent J.K. Rowling production Review: The 734 pages of this book kept me thoroughly entertained on a 15 hour car ride. Though seemingly long in parts, the overall plot was very creative and well thought out. The reader learns quite a bit of the history of magic schools and the origin of the Harry Potter-Voldemort rivalry. The attention to detail is astounding and we were introduced to many new and interesting characters. It's great to see Harry grow up and into a teenager, we get to see his first crush and see him deal with the feelings any teenager gets. It's also neat to see how the other characters develop as they mature. I highly suggest this to book and Harry Potter fans everywhere. Good reading muggles!
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter: Goblet of Fire Review: I have read all four books and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. I bought them so my son would have a chance to read them as he gets older, but they capture your attention so fast. They're like a pringle, once you pop, you just can't stop. I can't wait until the next one. The Goblet of Fire was definitely worth waiting for.
