Rating: Summary: The Paramount Potter Book Review: This book provides all that anyone could ask -- adventure, fun and mystery. The book resumes the adventures of Harry Potter and his zany friends at his Witchcraft schoool. I don't want to spoil any of it, so I won't reveal any details. Trust me: you're in for an adventure -- a really great adventure.
Rating: Summary: Longest, and best yet. Review: Harry Potter is growing up, and this book reflects that. The dangers are more threatening, the laughs more infrequent. I found the book to be the best yet, but parents should prepare young children who want to read this book.I don't want to say much about the story and give anything away to those waiting to read it. We do learn that there are three European schools of wizardry, Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. Each puts up a champion for the Triwizard Tournament, which ties together what happens in Harry's fourth year. We meet Fleur Delacour from Beauxbatons and Viktor Krum from Durmstrang, characters who will hopefully reappear in books 5-7. As the years have gone on, the skirmishes between Harry and Lord Voldemort have gotten more intense, and Goblet of Fire doesn't disappoint. When everything is done you'll know why the last chapter is called "The Beginning".
Rating: Summary: Hot, Hot, Goblet of Fire Review: After reading this wondeful installment to the world-renowned series, I daresay that I couldn't take my hands off the book. A S$33.19 trip to the Triwizard Tournament, Quidditch World Cup ,a look at the Dark Mark, Professor Moody and a visit to Hagrid, Professor Dumbledore and Dobby was definitely worth it! And most of all, the excitement is that Voldemort is back.
Rating: Summary: Rowling does it again! Review: _Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire_ is the best of Rowling's books yet. In reading the series, I have enjoyed watching Harry and his friends grow and deal with more complicated situations, both among themselves and against the forces of the evil Voldemort. Now, with the fourth book, Rowling pulls out all stops. Not only do the young characters continue to develop (both as typical teens and as magic-users), not only is the plot richly layered and full of Rowling's characteristic misdirection, not only is there more action than fifty Quidditch matches, but the 700+ page book never lags as detail after imaginative detail is produced, making the world of Harry Potter even more vivid to the reader. Rowling promised that this book would be darker than before, and she wasn't kidding. Nasty things happen and people die, including important ones. Betrayal can come from any direction. Harry discovers that people supposedly on the same side can disagree profoundly, to the point of losing one's advantage. The main plotline of the book is neatly wrapped up with the end of the school year, but Rowling leaves so many openings for the next book that there is bound to be another Harry-watch for book 5 before the dust settles on the current stampede. And if book 5 is anything like book 4, it will be just as worth the wait.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter 4: Rowling it back at it Review: Hm...does it seem strange that a review for this book is already posted, providing that the novel only came out a day ago, on Saturday? Well, considering that the novel is an astounding 700+ pages long (compared to the 300+ of the previous novels), it is pretty strange. I'm currently a high school student studying English for my summer school assignment, and gained a love for Harry Potter after reading the Sorcerer's Stone about a year ago. After being slightly dissappointed with book 2 and 3 (They weren't quite as good as book 1), I eagerly awaited book 4, hoping Rowling would come back with some Hogwarts magic. Happily, I was not dissappointed. Harry Potter 4 is right up there in literary quality as book 1. The story this time is a lot more compelling, and keeps the reader glued to the pages, just burning inside for more. With the addition of some brand new characters and some story twists (which I'm not gonna say), this book is truly one to read. I started reading Saturday morning, and just finished Sunday night. I can say that this book has one of the most incredible endings also. With the extra pages, Rowling has weaved a masterpiece of fantasy fiction, and if any new reader of Harry Potter decides to read this one first (Which is not that great of an idea...read book 1 first!), they will be overwhelmed by how good this is. Believe the hype! Harry Potter is not just a fad, it's truly one of the greatest fantasy series written. Rowling, I believe, can be compared to Jacques in the quality of her fantasy world. I cannot wait for Harry Potter 5
Rating: Summary: The book that everyone waited for and got what they deserved Review: Children of all ages waited into the early morn to see what happens to a young boy woth a lightning scar and an ability to get into trouble without trying. As you start to read to fourth installment of the Potter saga, you have to wonder if it will compare to the last three. I am glad to say that this wonderful book has outdone the last three. With its different feel and darker plot, you can tell that the character and the author have grown up a bit since we last heard from them. The book made me laugh, cry and outright frighten for the brave young man named Harry. i would recommend this book for the young and the young at heart.
Rating: Summary: Rowling wins again! Review: As if the first 3 books weren't good enough, Rowling does one better with "Goblet Of Fire." Harry is a typical boy with with typical (sorta) problems. If you read the series, then you MUST read this one. If you don't already read the series, then you must start so you can get to "Goblet Of Fire" ...truly Rowling's BEST work yet!
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it dowm! Can't wait for book 5! Review: I received this book on Saturday via the special Fedex delivery arranged by Amazon.com. Thank you! I started reading the book, and I couldn't put it down. The forth year at the school of wizardry brings on breath-holding exhilarating experiences by the trouble seeking trio: Harry, Hermione (her-my-ony and not hermy-own like I wrongly was pronouncing it through the first three books) and Ron. Harry finds himself in trouble and danger as usual, but this time, not even he could save the life of his friend. The action in the book keeps you reading page after page and the unexpected twists add to the ongoing mystery, and it gets very scary, as you hold your breath close your eyes and pray for the innocent lives of these can't-stay-out-of-trouble teens. It is good against evil, the heart of a champion vs. the dark forces, and at the end .... well you will have to find that out for yourself .... I have enjoyed reading all four books, and I can't wait for the next one to be published. I recommend all four books to everyone at any age level. I am 30 Years of age myself, and I have to admit that this series of books is the best most enjoyable and entertaining reading I have done in the last five years.
Rating: Summary: *THE* Pivital book of the Harry Potter Saga! Review: I received my copy of The Goblet of Fire yesterday at 2:30 in the afternoon. I finished it by 12:30 today. In my opinion this is *the* most important book in the Harry Potter series so far. Not only do all of the major characters go through great changes and begin to show signs of maturity, but many of the little questions that present themselves in the first three books are answered. I'm not trying to give away the plot, but if you are a Harry Potter fan, you cannot miss this book because it sets up the senario for all to come! There is everything imaginable: secrets, dragons, danger, comedy! This may be a 734 page book, but it is an amazingly fast read and keeps you interested from cover to cover. A MUST READ!
Rating: Summary: Hooked on Harry Review: When I first read the 1st three after meeting JK Rowling at the "Whale of a Tale" in Irvine, CA, I was so impressed and intruiged by the book's content, that I longed for more. I was patiently but exitedly awaiting the arrival of "Goblet of Fire" and when it came, I was the happiest guy. The beginning kinda freaked me out, but the rest was just fascinating. I cant wait for the next 3!
