Summary: Latest Harry Potter Book!
Review: It's hard to to write a review without giving away some of thesome of the secret and part of the ending so if you haven't read thebook and you don't want it spoiled, don't read this review.

This book was very dark, much darker and scarier than any of the other three. I would not recommend reading it to young children, especially before bed. It put much more emphasis on Voldemort's old supporters, the Death Eaters, than ever before. We find out who they were, with some surprises, and how some of them got out of going to Azkaban. Many find themselves in an awkward position when Voldemort is on the rise again. The first chapter is entirely focused on Voldemort and Harry is not metioned at all. Secondly, there were deaths in this book... Through this book we come to better understand the situation before Voldemort's downfall, the terror, the chaos, and the uncertainty of not knowing who was on your side and who was really supporting the Dark Lord.

But despite, or perhaps because of that, this book is in my opinion the best in the series. It is certainly the longest at 700+ pages. There is lots of laughs, lots of andventure, and lots of hilarious attempts at romance. Its not too mushy though, don't worry. Its not all dark and scary though. Harry goes to the Quiddich World Cup with the Weasleys, he and Ron have an interesting time finding dates for the Yule Ball, He Ron and Hermione have happy times hanging out in the common room, and there's plenty of comic relief provided by Fred and George Weasley. There are lots of funny new characters too. An extremely paranoid new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, an annoyingly nosy Daily Prophet reporter, students from the other two school for Wizardry in Europe-Beaubaxtons and Durmstrang, and a World Cup Quidditch player in love with Hermione. I laughed out loud many times while reading this book.

No book is perfect and though these are great I have a few problems. First of all does everybody have a secret they never tell Harry? It always seems that he, and we are always the last to know...All in all, this is a great book that everyone should definately read! Buy it today!

Summary: Simply Superb!
Review: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is outstanding! It is packed with suspense and action, but also has some comic relief. It is pretty scary in the end and also quite sad after a character is killed. This is my favorite book of the series so far.

Summary: Harry Potter Rules!
Review: This eagerly anticipated book has lived up to its hype. Eventhough it is significantly longer than the previous three Harryinstallments, it is just as engrossing a read. Harry continues his adventures at Hogwarts, excelling not at Quidditch this time, but in the dangerous and exciting Triwizard tournament against students from other wizarding schools. However, a devious reporter and an agent of Voldemort's, along with other captivating characters, are doing their best to help Harry win- or to help him die. I highly recommend this book, along with the three previous Harry books. A word of caution, however- this book is slightly darker than the earlier books- it has more violence, including some against Muggles, and someone actually dies. Younger children could possibly be scared. Besides that, it's a great book. Bring on the next three!

Summary: Rowling Does it Again!
Review: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was a great read! I got the book late on friday and could not stop reading it. The characters develop more in this 4th book and begin to exhibit attractions for the opposite sex. Also, their latest adventure is superior to the others in its detail and suspense. Rowling is truly a Wizard!

Summary: Our Little Harry is Growing Up!
Review: As a 30-something woman, I find that a lot of my friends raise their eyebrows skeptically when I mention Harry Potter. "Aren't those children's books?", they inevitably ask. Well, yes, they are. But our Harry is growing up. In this 4th book of her Harry Potter series, Rowling has delved much deeper into the dark side of the wizard world. The reader can see Rowling stretching toward a full-fledged battle between the forces of good (Potter) and evil (Voldemort). There is a feeling of an epic here, unlike her first three books which, although quite charming, always left this reader feeling slightly as if she had just watched an episode of Scooby Doo -- "And I would have gotten away with it, too, if not for those meddling kids!". But there's none of that here, kids might actually walk away from this one a little afraid. Not only is there the death of a major character in this particular book, but there is a lot of death altogether. Lord Voldemort is not a slightly cartoonish villian anymore. Oh no, he does grievous hurt....and a lot of it. For the first time, the readers get a sense of how large and sinister Voldemort's following really is....and the true evil and weaknesses that really lie in the hearts of men. This book, almost 740 pages long, is Rowling's triumph in this series so far. Some of the more humorous characters show up briefly, Peeves the Poltergeist, Nearly Headless Nick, Dobby the Elf....but make no bones about it, Rowling's getting down to business. This is no longer Harry's exploits in boarding school....this is war....and sometimes war gets ugly.

I would recommend this book to all Harry Potter fans, and to any would-be converts. You haven't read Harry Potter until you've read THIS Harry Potter. Voldemort is on the move, Harry is growing up, the battle is on....and this reader is buckling her seatbelt for Rowling's wild ride.

Summary: Not quite as good
Review: I waited and waited and waited for this book to come out expecting it to be as engrossing as the last 3. I was sadly dissappointed. I could guess what was going to happen next throughout most of the book and the rest was fairly uninteresting. The feeling of Book 4 was definately more gritty focusing on politics, lies and conflict between all the characters. I just couldn't get into like the other books. This book was about a world that just didn't pull me in like the other three books. I hope the next books will bring back the innocence and wonder of Hogwarts which is what drew in so many readers.

Summary: Caution J.K., longer does not mean better
Review: Whew, just finished. While good, toooo long. I hopeMs. Rowling does not fall into the trap of too many other authors(King, Clancy, et. al) and feel that their books have to be long to be good. Also, this should not be marketed to kids under 8 years of age. Too violent and too dark.

Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Review: This is another action packed example of JK Rowling's genius at providing books that appeal to children of all ages. The story that began in the first three books continues with many challenges, opportunities and surprises.

Many characters mentioned and not fully explored in prior books are expanded upon. Characters who have moved on are included in brief glimpses so that we know what they are doing now.

And all of our favorite characters continue to provide enough action to keep you hooked.

It's rare that I find a series that gets better as it goes along. The Goblet of Fire is the best Harry Potter yet, and WELL worth the wait!

Can't wait for number 5!

Summary: The most fun I've had reading a book in a long time
Review: I spent a most enjoyable weekend reading this book. I'm constantly amazed at the author's imagination; she keeps coming up with all sorts of wonderful new characters and details. I haven't gotten so much pleasure out of reading since I was a kid reading the JRR Tolkien books.

My daughter has several friends who have started reading as a direct result of these books. They are actually turning off the TV and picking up books.
