Rating: Summary: Half way through and can't put it down. Review: I'm only half finished with the 4th installment of Harry Potter and his Hogwart's pals and I can't put it down! Not only are the characters maturing and facing new conflicts both with their magic and with their relationships, the struggles they each face are as compelling as those in the other three books. As much as I want to finish the Goblet of Fire, I don't want Harry's journey to end!
Rating: Summary: What a Great Book Review: This was one of te best books I have ever read. Although 700+ pages may sound like a lot it really isn't once you get started. This book includes many tounaments and games and new spells and new people. Plus, as always a new dark arts teacher and many new creatures. I would say that it is definatly worth getting in hardcover and especially in paperback. It is worth the money.
Rating: Summary: WOW! Review: Wow! I have been a Harry Potter fan from the start, and I am so excited to be able to get the new one! Even tho it is 750 pages long, it is just extra excitement all throughout! Geesh I cannot believe the fourth book is out already!
Rating: Summary: More than what I expected! Review: Praise J.K. Rowling! I couldn't wait for this book, and when I received it on 7/8, I couldn't put it down! It took me two whole days, but I am finished. Harry is in some of the scariest tangles of his life...I laughed, I cried, and I got shaky with fear. Ms. Rowling also does a great job of putting Harry, Ron and Hermione through the obvious tough beginnings of adolescence. I am curious to see where she will take some of these story lines. A fantastic, spellbinding sequel to the rest, and by far the most exciting yet!
Rating: Summary: Jo Rowling does it again! Review: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was well worth the wait. The book literally grips you from the very first page. I got it at 12:01 on Saturday morning and didn't put it down until I finished it at 5:35 A.M. Harry, Ron and Hermione are in their fourth year at Hogwarts. Harry's off to an exciting start to the year, as he attends the Quidditch World Cup with the Weasley family. Unfortunately for Harry, his fourth school year is a year of problems. The shadow of Lord Voldemort (the most powerful evil wizard in the world) looms larger than ever. Despite this, Harry manages to live the life of a normal wizard teen. Harry, Ron and Hermione begin to notice the opposite sex. The angst of trying to find someone to take to the school dance is hilarious -- I literally laughed out loud. Rowling handles this traditional rite of passage in a wonderful way. The characterization in this book was excellent. Even minor characters are fleshed out well. However, I must caution parents with small children that the book is somewhat darker in tone than the rest of the series. Four people die in the course of the book. None of the deaths are explicitly shown, and there is no gratuitous violence, but younger children may be frightened. (The level of violence is comparable to that in C.S. Lewis' Narnia series). I hope all of you will enjoy this book as much as I have. Happy reading -- and here's hoping the rest of the series is just as good, if not better!
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Review: Well, she's done it again. Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire is a fun read, with the twists and turns that we've come to expect. Don't be put off by the size. It can be slow here and there but then the action takes off again. Some old characters return and there are some interesting new ones. And yes, someone we've seen before dies. In fact there are a couple of deaths in the book (though the others are "new" characters). We also find out some secrets about Snape and Hagrid. The biggest problem with the ending of #4 is that it makes me want #5 all that much sooner.
Rating: Summary: great fun for all Review: Having loved the first 3 volumes of Harry Potter and his escapades, this book was eagerly awaited and of course, welcomed when it arrived on Saturday afternoon. It is a keeper. As the mom in a household with three teenaged daughters (the youngest is 15), and the first one to read the book, I can guarantee that the rest of our family will feel as I did. Our 15 year old is holding off because she feels that once she finishes the book she will have too long to wait for volume 5 and another daughter has too much school work at the moment to begin. As for me I finished the book in a day, and now I have another year to wait for the next book so maybe my 15 year old has the right idea! Regardless, it is a great read for all!
Rating: Summary: This is possibly the best, yet most confusing Harry Potter. Review: I have read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and am reading it again. Many people might need too. Don't get me wrong, this was an excellent book, but considering that I read it in 2 days, it was a tad confusing. This 734 page, 37 chaptered book involves much action, and a lot of scares. Even though younger people will be reading this, considering the content, it is most likely good for children ages 10 and up.
Rating: Summary: Another great! Review: This is an excellent book. JK has done it again with Goblet ofFire. Even though it is substantially longer than the others, it iswell worth the commitment. It is destined to be a classic along with the rest of the Harry Potter series.
Rating: Summary: Most suspenseful and entertaining of them all Review: J. K. Rowling has done it again. She has written a book that has suspense, mystery, romance, horror, and entertainment throughout. When I got my copy, I couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the next one.
