Rating: Summary: Great Story, but Very Dark Review: Great book, but much darker than the previous 3. The entire story has an underlying gloomyness that might not be appropriate for younger readers. I couldn't put it down. Got the book Saturday at noon and finished it Sunday at midnight. The ending leaves enough unfinished story lines that I am now "patiently" waiting for book 5.
Rating: Summary: The best book ever! Review: "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" is the best book ever that J.K. Rowling wrote. Though the book was long. I read it in a day and a half. I loved all what happened. J.K. Rowling writes the best books ever! I suggest that a lot of you people in the world get this book and read it for yourself.
Rating: Summary: The battle of good and evil Review: In the Goblet of Fire, Harry returns to Hogwarts for his fourth year and is one of the four contestants chosen to compete in the competition between the other two magic schools. During the last of the three challenges, Harry is transported to a face to face competition with the dark Lord who discards his feeble form and takes on a new strong body. At the conclusion of his final task Harry finds himself in mortal combat with he who shall not be named in a battle of the wands. Despite the length, this volume pulls together the events of the previous books and sets the stage of the battle raging between the forces of good and evil.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4) Review: I enjoyed this book very much. Although I was surprised by it's length (over 700 pages), the story was so engaging that I finished it within a day.If you like the other Harry Potter books, I think you will like this one, too. There's a lot of the usual action (Quidditch, magical creatures, sneaking around) though most of the story takes place outside the classroom. There were several plot twists that I did not see coming at all - in fact I was floored by the bad guy's identity this time. I particulary liked that Harry is growing up and interacting more equally with adults. He has developed confidence and behaves less like a victim with his enemies. Maybe because of this, Harry sees the people around him more clearly. This book gives a lot of insight into the minor characters. If you've ever wondered why Neville is being raised by his grandmother, why Mr. Weasley doesn't make more money, why Hagrid is so tall, or why nobody sticks up for the house elves - this book is for you. One thing that annoyed me was the explanation for pronouncing "Hermione". I suppose the author was responding to numerous questions, but it seemed contrived and did not flow well in the story. Get ready for a fun read. Make sure you have a large chunk of free time before you start this book, though, because you will not want to put it down.
Rating: Summary: "A FourPeat" Review: This fourth book in the Harry potter series was well worth the wait. Even after the name change from the Doomsday Tournament to now the Goblet of Fire it didn't change the tone of book. J.K. Rowling did add some tough vocabulary that I had some trouble with and I am not even in the age range of 9- 12. It has a very well thought out plot with nice twists and turns. It immediately grabs you into the book with a powerful first chapter. Death is immediate as Ms. Rowling promised. But there is a change, all you Quidditch fans you won't read too much about it because the interhouse tournament is called off this fourth year for Harry Potter and the TriWizard tournament is put in its place. I'm not gonna spoil the ending but you can probably guess that Harry Potter is gonna have something to do with it along with Ron and Hermione. And you also know that he will deal with Lord Voldermort (You-know-who). So I suggest you cut off the tv and get reading cause it will take you a while . Its 734 pages.
Rating: Summary: Back at full power! Review: After that very long painful wait, between book 3 and book 4, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire comes back at full power in more than one aspect. Despite the length, I finished the book 6 hours after receiving it. I am extremely anxious for book 5. During the first time I read it, I enjoyed guessing how things were happening. Who put Harry's name in the Goblet? How was Rita getting those stories? This was the best yet! What next? The suspence is killing me! I have to read this over and over to keep from expoding!
Rating: Summary: stunning sequal to Miss Rowlings series! Review: Having just finished reading "The Goblet of Fire" this morning, I can say without hesitation that the book was worth all the publicity it has been receiving in past weeks. At first skeptical, as to its content, my attitude was changed to one of delight at the first page. Harry is worthy, interesting, and above all Human! Too often in the fantasy genry, we find ourselves with shallow, generic characterization. The plot is captivating and more than once I found myself wishing I could escape to Hogwarts and meet Ron, Hermione, and Dumbledore. I look forward to any additional books in the series with acute anticipation and reccomend them to anyone!
Rating: Summary: The Best Yet! Review: A Harry Potter addict, I was so happy when this monstrous fourth installment arrived at my doorstep. I sat down instantly, and haven't put it down yet. The book surpasses the fantastic first three novels, and adds more than one new twist on to Harry's magical journey into Hogwarts and the wizarding community. An absolute must-have for everyone, agesd 7 to 77!
