Rating: Summary: Harry wins again! Review: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will keep you reading, and reading, and reading. You will find that 734 pages is not enough. This book moves quickly, continues to expand the characters and places of the wizarding world and leaves you wanting more. Hurry up with number 5.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Review: Rowling has out done herself this time. The twists and turns the story takes keeps you guessing until the end. A batch of great new characters are added to the well developed characters we have been following already. It is clear that she is building up for something big in the next few books. The Harry Potter saga is just starting it seems.
Rating: Summary: All Hype! No Substance! Review: I was soooo excited to receive my copy of the new Harry Potter book! After standing in line on Friday night / Saturday morning, I scurried home to read this next installment. All I can say is "WOW!" I can't believe I waited for 35 minutes in line and paid money for this book. If you liked the other Harry Potter books you will be nothing short of disappointed.I found the plot confusing, the characters less than interesting, and I really didn't find that any new territory was covered and it was much darker than the other 3 books. I had planned to give a copy to my nephew for his birthday - but I have now decided against it! I'm afraid that this series is fizzling out!
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter's New Adventures -- Just as Exciting as Ever Review: I've just finished reading _Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire_, and I must say it is nearly as good as the previous three. Though my favorite will probably always be "The Sorcerer's Stone", J. K. Rowling's ever-imaginative characters and and supernatural events keep the pages turning no less in number four than with the first. There are the usual scuffles between Potter and friends and their rivals at Hogwarts as they experience new and exciting adventures in their fourth year of school. There are creepy new characters, both good and dark, whose motives one never can quite figure out until the end. And of course, there is the climactic struggle between good and evil, present in all of the Potter books, in which Harry must fight for his life and for the continuing suppression of Lord Voldemort, his arch-nemesis. So, thrill to the speed and excitement of the Quidditch World Cup, cheer for Harry as he triumphs again and again in dangerous adventures, and laugh at Rowling's hilariously detailed look at life at Hogwarts -- but most of all, enjoy the experience the fourth Harry Potter book in the series. It's sure to be a hit!
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Review: This is an awesome book! This pivital book in the series kept me reading! I couldn't put it down! J.K. Rowling's still got it!
Rating: Summary: SUPERB Review: Wonderful book. Just great. I started reading it and i couldn't stop. Yup: J.K.Rowling's still got it! Read the book to find out things about Harry that were mentioned in the previous books, and things you puzzled over. ALL IS REVEALED! !
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Review: True to the previous Harry Potter novels, Goblet of Fire is fast paced fun. While darker in tone, it is as good as Prisoner of Azkaban, which in my opinion was the best in the series. Rowling brings many new details to the story which keep it fresh instead of rehased as so many serials become. One drawback is the legnth. Many children will find it daunting, but it is worth the effort.
Rating: Summary: Still enchanted Review: As one of the legion of adult fans I can only say that at 733 and a half pages the book is still too short! If the very youngest Potter addicts find their attention flagging before they get to the end, they may just have to grow into this tale. Harry and his friends add puppy love and political activism to their usual preoccupations as they experience another year of magic and mayhem at Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As promised death takes place on stage, but as Harry grows older and more self reliant, the atmosphere seems less nightmarish despite the more aggressive villainy. Rowling's sense of humor gets full play as well. At one point, as the non-magical Dursley family tries to cope with the wizarding Weasleys who have not quite managed to materialize in their living room, I had to put the book down and finish laughing. I am really enjoying this series and I can't wait to find out what happens next.
Rating: Summary: Terrible! Review: How can anyone actually like this book. I am ashamed to say that I have actually read it, and i hated it. It makes no sense, and rawlings is straining for something that Harry can do in his fourth year. i shudder to think what the fifth book will be like
