Summary: Better than expected. Great packaging
Review: I am very happy with my 17-CD set. (Not 16, as I have seen advertised.) The producers managed to incorporate many, if not all of the books' illustrations including the little illustration at the begining of each chapter. Each CD is illustrated and color-coded, with one of five different types of CD illustrations. I definately didn't expect this audio product to be such a visual treat.

As always, Jim Dale the narrator is fabulous, and this time he even pronounces "Hermione" properly.

For 20 hours of high quality listening enjoyment which my daughters will partake of repeatedly, this is a good deal for the price. We are planning several long car trips this summer but we still won't listen to this entire CD set! I recommend it highly.

Summary: Harry does it again!
Review: I received my copy of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on Saturday afternoon, and I'm already starting it for a second time. My nephew (who got it on Saturday for his birthday) was so excited that it was coming that he climbed into the FedEx truck to get his package when it arrived. Thank goodness it was worth both the wait and the hype.

This was a darker book than the previous three, as well as a much longer one, but it was also exciting and worth a few hours time that it takes to read it. I didn't realize until this book how good Rowling is at capturing the tone of normal people. Her wizards and witches don't just cope with magical dilemmas and joys, they cope with human ones as well: Harry discovers girls, Hermione discovers boys, everybody gets to see the finals for the Quidditch World Cup (sports are eternal), Ron gets tired of being the eternal sidekick, and still they all have to cope with classes (the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher is a doozy) and the latest creatures that Hagrid's accquired.

I will say that I was disappointed in the heavy-handed racial understanding subplot, but since it eventually tied back to the main plot, I'll forgive Rowling this. Overall it was well worth reading.

Summary: Like its predecessors, the best yet...
Review: was that really just 734 pages? what an effortless joy. Rowling is once again a master of misdirection; I'm 0 for 4 in predicting who the bad guys really are. It's so heartening to see that something surrounded by such hype is actually good, let alone outstandingly wonderful. Let's all cast an artistic sensibility charm on Mr. Chris Columbus and hope that his Harry Potter movie doesn't go dementor on its formidable audience.

Summary: The Book is Great
Review: I wont tell everybody who reads this review what happens in the book, but I can assure you, YOU WILL BE IN FOR A BIG SURPRISE AT THE END...AND WHEN YOU THINK THE SUSPENSE IS OVER, IT IS NOT. I rate this book 5 Stars. It is defnitly the best out of all four of them...I strongly suggest you order it now if you haven't already...

Summary: The Turning Point
Review: This is, it seems, where Rowling is trying to draw the line with her series. She's long insisted that the Harry Potter are not for young children. But, up to this point, they've really been fine. Things change here. The bad guys are truly bad, and the climax of this book is positively terrifying. By the end, the nature of the Harry Potter books has been fundamentally changed, and it's become a lot darker.

That said, the book is absolutely fantastic. The characters have grown up a lot since the Sorcerer's Stone, and it shows here. The plot is much more epic, hence it's rather massive page count. That said, it was sufficiently rivetting that I found myself tearing through the book in less than a day.

Then again, it's not like a review is going to change your mind one way or the other. If you loved the first three, this book is wonderful. If you didn't, you're wrong.

Summary: stupendous!
Review: I've read the Harry Potter series from the beginning, and adore it. And that definately extends to Book 4. It is a wonderful, captivating story, filled with even greater doses of the usual mystery and intriuge! The plot thickens quickly for Harry and his friends, but let me warn you, this one is SCARY! Harry is growing up, and many of the rumors about this book prove true--the story line gets darker by the chapter. But, don't let that, or the whopping 734 pages, scare you off--this is a truly magnificent tale, and I already can't wait until the next installment hits the stands!

Summary: More of the Same...
Review: ...fantastic, spirit-lifting, page-turning, wonderful, magical style we've come to love and expect from JK Rowling and the Harry Potter series--and lots of it!

For those worried about the 700-plus page count, worry not--you'll fly through it like Harry's Firebolt. Parents, however, reading to small children, might get tired reading it to kids at bedtime--a chapter might take more than a half hour. And the entire book might take you an entire summer. Speaking of parents, beware--"Goblet of Fire" employs a tad bit more darkness than Rowling has shown us in books 1-3....

Towards the end, the plot becomes rather convoluted--wonderfully so--but again, kids might need a diagram drawn to show them just where the plot branched off, swirled around, and thrashed like a Whomping Willow.

"Goblet of Fire"--this cup runneth over with magic and wonder. JK Rowling does not disappoint.

Summary: Great!
Review: I am 9 years old and finished the book in two days (I would have read it all night, but mom wouldn't let me!). It was great! You didn't know what would happen next. It had a lot of things hooked to the other book which I really liked. I would like a little more of Sirius Black in the next book. Can't wait for the next one!

Summary: Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire
Review: This book, the fourth in the Harry Potter series, was the best yet. It was rich and complex and I couldn't put it down. I won't give anything away about the story, because I don't want to ruin it for anyone. The feelings this story evoked in me were amazing. The characters were so genuine and wonderful that I couldn't help but feel for them. I strongly reccomend this book to ANYONE. Everyone needs a little magic in their lives and this is a fabulous sorce of it. Harry, Ron, Hermoine, Hagrid, Dumbledor, Sirus, and the rest of the characters are ones that I will never forget and that everyone should get to know. Thank you J.K. Rowling for sharing you briliance.

Summary: A Goblet of Ideas
Review: I was enthralled from the beginning. A little shocked by the sudden Beginning, but the story kept me going just to learn the plot. I anticipated learning more about Sirius and Hogwarts. And Hermoines idea for S.P.E.W kept me laughing all the way through. And the way all the characters work together, especially a twist with Krum, the pro-quidditch player, and poor Ron who is left to deal with his jealousies of Harry. This Book tied for me with the 3rd one. My two favorites now.
