Rating: Summary: An excellent plot, twisting and turning Review: When I first got Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, book four in this popular series I couldn't wait to read it. And with good reason! I've been waiting for at least 6 months...anyway, I would like to say that J.K. Rowling has really showed the feelings of joy, sorrow, and hatred in this enjoyable story. Her style of writing is extraordinary and the idea is beautifully crafted.
Rating: Summary: Suspenseful-A great continuation in the life of Harry Potter Review: J.K. Rowling has made me anxious for her next novel on Harry Potter! "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" creates suspense, fear, and even sadness to the reader. Although this novel is longer than the others, there is not a dull moment. I could not put the book down. In the end, it made me wonder what was going to happen in the next book. "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" leaves the reader in suspense at the end. What is Lord Vo- oh what's his name- going to do next? That is what I and all Harry Potter readers want to know. I highly recommend this book. It is a gothic, romance, and suspense novel all combined in one!
Rating: Summary: Entralling though not J.K.'s best Review: J.K. continues Harry's adventures at Hogwarts (a boarding school for wizards) as a four-year with the traditional cast of villians and beloved characters -- plus a few new mysterious students. The formula is known to the many Harry fans out there, and admittedly the sheer creativeness of the book is lower than the first two of the series (which is more a credit to the earlier books than a discredit to HP and the Goblet of Fire), but the book is nevertheless entralling. Some of the stereotypical portrayals of the bureocratic hierarchy within the Ministry of Magic will appeal more to adults, and Harry's teenage issues (such as dating woes)will appeal more to that age group too -- small children might therefore not be as enthralled with the more than 600 page installment of the series. The book does further the revelations of recognizable charater's pasts, and it most certainly prepares the dramatic situation for Book #5, starting once more with Harry's end-of-summer woes at the Dursleys -- in chapter 2. Chapter 1 lays the groundwork (and most of the drama) for the year -- but I won't spoil it for you!
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4) Review: I had wanted to savor this book and make it last. Unfortunately, I couldn't put it down. (This made my husband happy, as he is next in line to read it.) It made me laugh, cry, and grip the pages. J.K. Rowling is an incredible story teller. I can't wait for the next book. Another author I would recommend to older children and adults who like Harry Potter, is Philip Pullman. The third book in his series "His Dark Materials" is due out in November.
Rating: Summary: Overwhelming and Unexpected! Review: I read this book in 48 hours and was unable to put it down - unexpected ending - unlike all the rest. I think you would have to have read all three prior books to get the most out of the fourth in the series. It is very imaginative with lots of good ideas and surprises along the way. I would recommend it to everyone as it was an extremely good book. Thanks J R Rowling and I hope there is more than seven in the series - YOU ROCK!
Rating: Summary: Another wondrous book for the series Review: Like most, I have read the books in sequence. I eagerly awaited this one with high expectations, and they were surpassed. Many mysteries are woven in around new characters. I solved an easier one, but missed the grand plot. I've already started reading the book again. A marvelous mystery.
Rating: Summary: Unbelievable Review: There is more energy in this book than any other. I was up 'till 3 reading, then picked it up for another 5 hours. It is frightening, it is emotional, it is not for the faint of heart! It leaves you at the end wanting to know the rest so badly, you can't stop thinking about it for hours afterward. Definitely worth a reading!
Rating: Summary: A new hit Review: They just keep getting better. J. K. Rowling has gone above and beyond her first three books. Her creativity is amazing. The Triwizard Tournament was fun to read about along with the World Cup. I enjoy Rowling's writing very much. I can't wait for the next book!
Rating: Summary: " A Thrilling Experience" Review: How can I describe J.K. Rowling's latest work? As you see I have titled my review of the book as a thrilling experience which is exactly what I found Harry Potter and the Goblit of Fire to be. The author writes with much detail and describes Harry's world expertly. Her words captivate you and it seems as if you are with Harry and his friends during their adventures. I would not like to ruin any of the story or plot for those of you who have not yet read the book or finished it....I was also surprised by the twists of the story. In short, Harry Potter and the Goblit of Fire was a highly entertaining book. All readers will thoroughly enjoy it. I am sure this book will be contintinued to be read for a long time coming. This reviewer cannot wait for the next book in the series.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely loved it, but... Review: It was an extremely good book by the time we got back to Hogwarts, but it took a long time to get there - about half the book. There were a lot of important clues in the first part of the book, but I think Ms. Rowling could have handled them a little more quickly. Still, it only took me 2 and 1/2 days to read the 752 pages, and I'm saying IV is the best yet!
