I am an adult, and yet I spent the better part of the last two days stealing time to read [and, yes, finish (it isn't short)]this book. Harry Potter is not the world's greatest wizard- J.K. Rowling is. Only magic can explain her ability to deliver a book as satisfying as "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," in the face the enormous pressure, hype, and expectations that built up to it. No mere mortal could have pulled it off. Though HPatGoF starts somewhat slowly with a prologue, it quickly regains momentum with a return visit with the Weasleys followed by the Quidditch World Cup between Ireland and Bulgaria. Rowling's trademark imaginative touches are everywhere: team color badges that scream the players' names, flags that play their national anthems when waved, and action figures that are really active. After that we're back to the fourth year at Hogwarts where Harry is chosen as its representative in the Triwizard Tournament against rival schools Durmstrang and Beaux-batons. Of course, the threat of Voldemort shrouds the proceedings leading up to a thrilling wand duel that will not disappoint even the most avid Robin Hood, Star Wars, or Three Musketeers fans. Sadly, there is also the death of a beloved character (J.K. warned us) that somehow seems oddly fitting. "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" is a worthy successor to the three books that came before it. It entertains and instructs, and in a world where real-life heroes are often less than heroic it provides role models for kids of all ages. I eagerly await book five.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A Welcome Change Review: The fourth installment in the Harry Potter series ends the carefree days of Harry's childhood and pitches him headfirst into the world of near-adulthood....This is a much darker, much more adult, and still thoroughly enjoyable installment in this much-lauded series.

Review: They are wonderful because little kids can read them andunderstand them to a certain degree, but teenagers and adults are notbored to tears; they are drawn into the story equally as much, if not more, because they can analyze and relate to the differing situations which Harry and his friends (and enemies) inevitably face. I reccommend this book as well as the other three (and I'm sure the three more to come) to any of you out there who are being rebellious and trying to stay out of the Harry Potter fan club. Really...they're worth a read.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Surprises at Every Corner Review: The book Goblet of Fire has surprises at every corner. It is not what you expect and is very hard to predict the end of this Harry Potter book. This book is probably the climax of the Harry Potter series and MUST be read. You will be missing a lot if you don't read this book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: FOUR TIMES THE CHARM Review: I think that J.K. Rowling's newest book is 100% great! It is so good because it has new challenges, new adventures, and you don't know what's going to happen from one minute to the next. During the first task I think it was really cool that Harry managed to call his firebolt to him and get the golden egg. I think that J.K.Rowling has a good idea on how to write a magnificent book because she makes the characters seem so real. She puts the characters in positions like teasing and debts - these are all things in everyday life. That's what makes her story seem like someday it could really happen. I think this book will inspire you to dream of worlds like Harry Potter's.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Superb! Review: My god this is the best book! A little bit long, but i don't care. The beginning is really great. I've read a whole bunch of books, and almost all the beginning is so borrrrriiiing. Snore....Z.Z.Z.Z. But not this one. I would love to tell more about the story, but i'm afraid i'll give the whole book away. Keep up the good work Ms. Roiling.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Harry Potter is growing up Review: This is the longest and most "grown-up" Harry Potter book yet, but it loses nothing from the magic we have come to expect of its author. It reads fast and well. New characters join the cast, some evil some good, all fascinating. Harry and Ron discover girls and Hermione gets discovered by boys. It seems that teen age is dawning and the magic is getting more complex. I especially liked the lesson on the Defense Against the Dark Arts course where Harry is fighting off a "forbidden" curse that controls his mind. Evil magic is defeated by strength of will- I bet Harry can teach a few things on how to fight drugs and peer pressure. J.K Rowlings wields her own magic wand with a sure hand. It is impressive how she can make us grieve for Harry's lost parents time and time again. This book also ends on a shockingly grim note: The evil side is up and the good side is licking new wounds. Still, all characters remain fully developped, resonating with both magic and humanity. I especially appreciate the manner in which she brings all aspects of human nature into play, attributes them to different characters and weaves them tightly into the plot. Yet,the author never preaches, never assumes a condescending tone. She won't underestimate our intelligence whether we be children or adults. This book (like the others before it) represents creative, intelligent writing of high caliber. Only one question remains: Do we really have to wait another year for Harry Potter book 5? How about using that owl post for a change!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A inginuis book! Review: This was a great book, I just loved it! I am not particular to adventure, scary books, but I just loved this one! I read it in 2 days. But I won't tell you any more! I don't want to ruin all of the surprises in it!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Tops all the others Review: This Harry Potter book topped all others because of the length. I felt the stories were not rushed, such as what occured in the Quidditch World Cup.
