Rating: Summary: Harry is King Review: Like the three earlier Potter books, J.K. Rowling's "Goblet" is jammed packed with incredible word pictures... making this the ideal book to energize any child's imagination. Every page is packed with suspense, danger, surprises and oddities that are out of this world... yet seem very much down-to-earth. Throw away the VCR. This book should be required reading for children of all ages.
Rating: Summary: Murder, Morality, Love, and Socks -- this one has it all! Review: I finished devouring the fourth Harry Potter book nine hours (and a few gasps of fresh air) after it arrived on my doorstep from a Ryder truck. (Apparently FedEx had so many orders to deliver from Amazon on July 8 that it had to rent moving trucks to deliver them all!)The Goblet of Fire begins with a (heart-thumping) teaser chapter, revealing both a murder and Voldemort himself. For the next several hundred pages, however, Rowling settles back into the more familiar rhythms of life at Hogwarts (albeit with a new and exciting Triwizard Tournament involving foreign schools). The outcomes of each competition in the Tournament are unfortunately not too hard to fathom (gee, I wonder who's the best wizard of them all?), but the suspenseful and explosive conclusion of the Tournament makes up for any shortcomings. The fourth book reminds me a lot of Azkaban in its structure -- a mostly "mundane" -- if that's posssible for a book about wizards -- (but very interesting) storyline for the bulk of the book, and an AMAZING conclusion that knocks your electrifying Dobby-knitted socks off! Even though the book was thicker than my copy of War and Peace(! ), it kept my eyeballs riveted and attention devoted to almost every word. The fourth book is studded with richly-described characters (from Ludo Bagman to Mad-Eye Moody) and hilarious subplot strands (such as Hermione's House-Elf Liberation Front). The book also contains surprisingly moralistic (but very convincing and at times touching) lessons -- about the evils of bigotry, the dangers of bad parenting, the importance of loyalty, and playing fair. From ethics and love to dental improvements and murder, this fourth book has it all. Although I think The Goblet of Fire is an ABSOLUTELY MUST-READ (ha, as if anyone needed my review to know that), my very most favorite is still Azkaban (Goblet's not too far behind, though!) Now, when's that fifth book coming out?
Rating: Summary: WOWZERS! Review: From the minute I picked up this book I couldn't put it down! I read the entire 752 pages in just one day! I can't say enough good things about it! Several ner "magical creatures are introduced, you learn some new facts about the characters, and for all you out there who are confused about how to pronounce Hermione; she does it for you! This is a must read!
Rating: Summary: Rowling's best book yet Review: This book is definetly the best yet. Harry finds himself participating in Triwizard Tournament(a wizard mini-olympics) without puting his name in the Goblet of Fire and he is picked fourth even though only three students are ment to be choosen. Harry and his friends are shure his name was put in the Goblet of Fire to get rid of him, but by who and why. There are plenty of new characters as well as old ones. The ending is very interesting and plot twisting. This book will definatly leave wanting the book 5.
Rating: Summary: The longest and the Best ! Review: This is one of my second favorite book only under the bible. I wish I could put six stars! If you liked any of the first three boxs, just a little you'l love this one. Its so good I couldn't put it down. Evan that its seven hundred and thirty four pages long it goes by REALY fast. It reviles more about alot of the old characters and introduces you to many, many more. After you read it you'l understand why the last chapter is called "The Begining". The only problem I have about the book is that it leaves you hanging teribly. You could be on Gigo's "We All Do Dumb Things" commursel if you don't get this book!
Rating: Summary: The greastest book yet, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Review: Harry Potters 4th book in the series, is the greatset yet. In the book, Harry gets invited to the Quidditch World Cup. Will the Dursley's let him go? Has Lord Voldemort come back, like in his dreams? Also, Harry's school, Hogwarts, is having an event that hasn't happened in over one hundred years, and after that every five years, the Triwizard Tournament. But, the ministry of magic has come up with a new rule. That only people older than 17 can join in. Harry is only 14. Will Harry be able to bend the rules and join in the tournament, or will he never join in on this once-in-a-life-time opportunity?
Rating: Summary: The Best out of all of them! Review: All i have to say is wow! ( well not all I have to say but most of it) I have been waiting for this book for a long time and finally on suday july 9 i got it! it was the most horrible thing i did to get this book but i won't tell cause it's just mean! and no i did not steal it! well not really! but yeah this book does not seem like a childrens book at all. there are a lot of deep things in this book, that the other book did not even touch! i'm just amazed by the book. She draws you in and you actually feel what Harry is going though it's really great! But i do advise that you read all of the books before you read this one. cause then you will just get a better understanding of it! NOW i'm waiting till the NEXT book will come out! i really want to know what happens! ps i just finished this book! took me about 1 1/2 days! not striaght though!
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Review: This book was well worth the wait! The characters stay true to themselves from the previous books and the story interweaves many details from the first three books as well. Questions are answered about Prof. Snape, (as well as new ones posed) and Sirius returns to support Harry in his new adventures. The descriptions that the author provides us with pull out a range of emotions, from humor to sorrow. I am 36 years old, and have been emailing my 10 year old nephew, as we have been reading it at the same time. Both of us are extremely satisfied with the story and our only complaint is that the wait for the next one will be too long!
Rating: Summary: WOW! Amazing! Review: As a 20 year old fan of Potter, I have to say that Rowling has outdone herself. I laughed at the beginning, cried at the end, was mesmerized throughout! Honestly, the book may be a little dark for younger Potter fans, especially those with really active and really good imaginations. The characters have also started using the "d" word. But the story is truly amazing and enchanting. I'm convinced that Rowling is a witch herself that casts a spell on every copy, making the reader ABSOLUTELY UNABLE TO PUT IT DOWN! :-) I've never read 200 pages of a book at one sitting before. I recommend this book to any Potter reader, but feel that the first 3 books should be read beforehand, and might be read by parents to their younger Potter readers.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful 4th Harry Potter book! Review: J.K. Rowling has crafted her characters with the greatest care and knows exactly how to hold our emotions in the palm of her hand. This book is truly amazing. You must buy it!
