Summary: No Going Back
Review: J.K. Rowling describes "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" as the 'central book... pivotal in every sense' (see the London Times online special) and she is right. After the first three books, which gave us a taste of the evil forces that Harry faces, here we see them truly in action and they are as terrifying and dreadful as we thought they could be. While bad things happened in the earlier books, "Goblet of Fire" is the point of no return: Voldemort and his allies must be dealt with.

At the same time, Harry and his friends still enjoy the Quidditch World Cup and behave like any kids at their first dance (like a lot of us, Harry is awkward and uncomfortable!). Yet he is forced to grow up faster than he'd like; he gets some interesting career advice, but his fate - to battle Voldemort - may close in on him before he gets to act on it.

We see the truth of Dumbledore's statement in "Goblet of Fire" that it's not who you're born, but what you become that counts. Harry, in becoming himself, is as endearing as he is enthralling.

Summary: Better then the rest.......
Review: I started this book, wondering how it would compare with the the other 3, which I had loved. I wondered HOW J.K. Rowling could improve upon Harry Potter 1, 2, and 3. I read the first 10 pages or so and was a little disopointed. But I kept reading. Suddenly it was a wonderful story. It twisted and turned, and I was surprised up to the last page. I think this book easily compares to other 3... in fact it's my favorite so far, and if J.K. Rowling continues this pattern, I'll like the 5th better then the 4th, the 6th better then the 5th and the 7th better then them all.

Summary: Best Harry Yet!
Review: The fourth book in the series, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is by far the best Harry yet. Being 734 pages, it seems like it will never end. But when you finish reading the last page, you won't stop thinking about the things in the book for days. The book introduces something that replaces Quidditch at Hogwarts for this particular year, and replaces it with a special event that hasn't happened for a century. You'll have to read the book to find out what it is :) The Goblet of Fire is exactly what it sounds like, except the flames are blue and at times change to red. Its purpose surprised me, and as it will probably do to you. Although darker in parts than the other books (this book introduces the Unforgivable Curses-pretty self explanatory what they are)and more teen-age at times (it has a ball in it (as in dancing ball)). Harry's actions toward Proffesor Trelawney are quite funny, and a small character from the second book returns. Buy this book and you won't regret it!

Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Review: I have never read a book of this size so quickly! I was absolutely consumed with it this weekend. Fast paced and intense! The initial episode at the Riddle House moved quickly, setting the stage for Lord Voldemort to start his evil deeds. (In the other books he was much slower to arrive.) After all, he IS the quintessential villian! The World Cup Quidditch Match left me wondering who the death eaters might be. Malfoy certainly was arrogant, as usual. Best of all, I really like the way Rowling can keep you wondering who the "bad guys" are. The three tasks for the tri-wizard contest were incredibly inventive. But why was help so easily offered? How did that Skeeter woman always seem to know what was happening? I never seemed to second-guess what would happen. Some people have criticized this series, but the "Goblet of Fire" shows many positive traits like: teamwork and loyalty (Ron, Harry and Hermione), ethics & bravery (Harry and Cedric), social injustice reform (Hermione), and true caring (Mrs. Weasley, Harry, Dumbeldore and Sirius). As an adult, I loved this book. Not for the 8 & 9 yr. olds though. Parents should be aware that there are 3 "mild" swears, a few deaths and some VERY intense situations here. Read it yourself first, and decide if your child is ready -most children over 10 will find this the BEST BOOK EVER !

Summary: harry potter #4
Review: This is my favorite hp book so far and I've read it twice since I got it on saturday it is really good. There are several important developments for books to come and the person to die is the one you would least suspect(but i won't spoil it). This is a great book but you have to read the first three or you will be very confused.

Summary: very good
Review: In my opinion, the newest novel in J.K. Rowling's seven-book Harry Potter series is her best work yet. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are in their fourth year at Hogwarts and facing many new and exciting challenges, including the Triwizard Tournament, a competition between three schools of magic that hasn't occurred for over a century. The characters in the novel were more believable than in the past three books and the plot was much more entertaining, with lots of twists and turns that keep the reader on the edge of their seat. Although this book wasn't as cheerful and lighthearted as the first and second books, it was still funny and immensely enjoyable. Anyone who liked Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban won't be disappointed.

Summary: A splended feast for the imanginaton!
Review: This book sure keeps you on your toes! You don't know what is going to happen next or if someone is good or evil. And I am sure all of us are wondering who is going to die an WHEN? It is a lot darker and a bit scary but it fits in so well with the story and so the book would not be complete without some mystery. J.K.Rowling really did a great job of showing that, yes, Harry is a boy and that he is growing up.

If someone hasn't read it yet I sugest checking their temperture and pulse. Because NO ONE can let their imangination miss out on this feast of a great series.

Summary: Shocking
Review: Oh my God. this book is amazing. its obviously the pivotal novel in this series, and its importance is tremendous. It's a real turning point in the series. written for a more mature audience, JK Rowling holds little back towards the end. All three main characters fall in love, and Harry's fourth year at Hogwarts is almost unrecocnizable from his first three. Faced with more danger at every turn, its amazing that there are only 3 deaths. The end was so shocking and surprising that I have to read it again. It's also very scary, and the surprises almost rival the ending of the third book. Trust me, this is not a book to miss, but be warned, you may need to drop everything to read this one, I read for nine hours straight, from 5:30 pm on the 8th, to 2:30 in the morning. Do not take this book lightly! JK Rowling specifically says that this is the most important one. (which might explain its length of 734 pages). READ IT!

Summary: J.K. Rowling has done it again
Review: Clearly Rowling is a master story-teller. I just finished the fourth book and wow. I won't give away anything, but I will say that it is best to start reading the book when you don't have anywhere to go for a few hours. Rowling has again managed to grasp you on page one and not let go until the end of the book. Every time I thought it was safe to put the book down, I read something that grabbed me again. Her mix of description and action once again amaze me. Considering the fanfare that accompanied this book publishing, I can only imagine what will accompany the publishing of the fifth book. If you haven't read any Harry Potter books, I highly recommend them. All the hoopla is thoroughly justified.

Summary: Social issues dominate this good adventure
Review: "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" is an interesting book. It is not as exciting as the first three in the series however, as "Goblet" focuses much of its attention on social issues rather then the misadventures of magic. Still the book seems to pick up towards the end, where dark events arise. It held my attention and I finished it by Sunday afternoon. It was a good book~Craig Reed
