Summary: "Goblet of Fire" Satisfies a Burning Thirst
Review: As I eagerly awaited the 4th Harry Potter, I could only guess what extraordinary things would happen. My mind was full of ideas about quidditch, Harry, his friends, and the evil "You-Know-Who". I bought the book and immediately began to read it. The idea that the book was over 700 pages long did not bother me a bit. As with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, I could not put the 4th book down for the next day and a half. So many things seemed different. Harry's hormones were starting kick in, which caught me off guard. Hogwarts had many new things to show as well. Evil lurked in the air. When I was finally finished, I concluded that J.K Rowling had done it again. She had mesmerized me with her words. My thirst is quenched for Harry Potter . . .for now at least . . .

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: I have read all four of the Harry Potter book for the first time in the last 3 weeks, and this has to be my favorite. It is more indepth, and the characters are more grown up, in my opinion. It was wonderful to see Draco Malfoy get what he deserves, and I completely felt for poor Ron. The characters all have new attitudes. In my friends words, they are all "nastier, and more like me!" It has wonderful surprises, nice focus on new people rather than the old rivalries, and answers some long-lasting questions, while leaving many other frustrating ones to be answered, hopefully, in the next books. In a word, Wonderful!

Summary: A nine-year-old's review
Review: The fourth Harry Potter book is finally out!Everyone wanted a copy. Why? Because it is a great book full of intrigue, mystery, and excitement. Harry Potter's fourth year at Hogwarts, school of witchcraft and wizardy, begins. A very exciting anouncement is made. The tri-wizard tournament will be held at Hogwarts that very year! (Only witches and wizards 17 or older will be able to enter, though). But all is not well in the school once they pick the contestents because a shocking surprise pops up. A line of surprises follow. Harry and his friends are led into a evil mystery that links together with clues from the begining of the book. Harry has so much to worry about, not to mention the upcoming Yule Ball. (Which girl will he ask?). He certainly isn't prepared for what's in store at the end of the tri-wizard tournement! I won't spoil the end. You'll have to read the book. But i'll tell you this, if you liked the other 3 books, you'll definitely like this one! It is worth all 734 pages. I know it's long, but I finished it in two days. That's how good it is! Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is a really great addition to the series. You absoulutely HAVE to read it. If you haven't already, read the other three books in J.K. Rowlings exciting series!

Summary: The goblet of fire
Review: I thought that this book was even better than the other three harry potter books, but littler kids might not like it as much(I'm thirteen), it deals with some pretty serious stuff, like prejudice, death, nosy reporters who will twist anything you say around for a story...Readers beware, do not start this book if you do not intend to finish, or you will never sleep again(No I did not mean to quote Jumangi). What I meant by that was yes, this book is just as captivating, if not more so , than it's predecessors. That's all folks!

Summary: This is a great book
Review: I could not put it down until I had finished it. At the Quidditch World Cup, the Death Sign and the march of the Death Eaters demonstrate that He Who Must Not Be Named is gaining power. On returning to school, Harry learns that there will be a Triwizard Tournament. An older student from each of the three wizard schools will compete for the Triwizard Cup. Suddenly Harry finds himself in the middle of the competition. Who got past the age line to enter his name? Who was able to confound the Goblet of Fire to trick it into a fourth contestant? Evil is aloft.

Summary: Absorbing and scary
Review: I couldn't put the book down once I started and having finshed the book... I can't wait for the 5th book to see how the plot goes.

Very vivid pictures were painted in the book and it can be scary....

Summary: J.K. Rowling Does It Again!
Review: I just finished reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Wow! It was an extremely powerful book. The ending has all the twists and turns we have come to expect from the author. I must admit it took me a little longer to get into the book since this one does not start out with Harry at the Dursleys as we have come to expect. It seems like she decided to change the format slightly to keep us all guessing although it does go from summer to summer like the others, but she made some changes in the flow of the school year. There are many new characters, including new schools of magic. Initially it is difficult to keep them all straight. Rowling does an excellent job of including past history to refresh our memories. She brings back many pivotal characters from the other books. She is also fabulous at capturing the emotions of a 14 year old dealing with loneliness, friendship, ridicule and dating. She deals with some social issues as in the past, but the funniest is the introduction of the wizard press. This book continues the trend of being a little darker than the last. I asked my 8 year old if it scared him at all and he said it did a little. But he was quite taken with the battle that she sets up at the end. (I don't want to give anything away) There are some deaths in this one - the one closest to the main characters is handled touchingly. This novel brought me to tears in a few places, and had me laughing out loud in others. I can't wait for number 5!

Summary: too short
Review: Rowling scores again with the same charm, humor, and magic that delighted readers in the first three books. The excitement and anxiety build throughout the book making it very difficult to put down. I greedily finished the book in just one day.

I appreciate a book that makes me laugh outloud - but who can help laughing with someone like Dobby the house-elf around... This is the most enjoyable children's series I have read (and I have read quite a few). Even at 700+ pages, I wish the book had been longer. I am already dreading the seventh book's arrival, because I will miss Harry and his friends.

Summary: I didn't think she could do it.....
Review: I had my doubts about the new Harry Potter book, but it lived up to every expectation that I had. The characters are rich and thought provoking, the plots are exciting and unexpected. I can't wait until the next book.

Summary: Rowling keeps us captivated in Year 4...
Review: I was among the first in line to recieve my copy of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on July 8th, and no sooner had I arrived home, I was already curled up on the couch, engrossed in this novel.

Year 4 at Hogwarts brings us many changes to the standard Harry Potter plot. After summer and the Quidditch World Cup have ended, the sport that Harry loves so much disappears from J.K. Rowling's text. In its place, a tournament between 3 "Champions", one each from Hogwarts and two other foreign schools of wizardry. And besides Harry's lightening-shaped scar continuously hurting, you'd almost never know that evil Lord Voldemort had anything to do with the year at school.

Not only has the standard plot of the series changed a little, but the characters have as well. Harry, now at 14, finds himself almost cynical and annoyed with people, he's matured, and I have to say that I like him much better now. Ron struggles harder than ever to find individuality, as Charlie and Bill, his brothers, return home, making it even harder to get lost in the crowd of redheads. Even twins Fred and George seem to be growing up. Hermione takes charge towards a good cause, and finds herself becoming more physically attractive, and in the likes of a boy.

I know that older readers will be enjoying this novel much more than its suggested age group. Besides its length, there are many things that may just be too creepy for them, slightly more so than the previous books. The Unforgivable Curses are a matter of torture, used continuously throughout the book. Limbs are chopped off, among other physical harm. I, personally, love this changes. It shows that Rowling has grown comfortable to writing about Hogwarts and about Harry, and I love what she's done. Not only is the world she's created realistic, it's incredibly easy to imagine yourself in, to get caught up in it. Don't be frightened by its length, for I know you will pick up Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and not put it down until ever last word on page 734 echoes through your mind. This is one you won't forget.
