Summary: JK Rowling has done it again !
Review: The Goblet of Fire is the best book in the series of HarryPotter books. It begins with Harry Potter going to the Quidditch WorldCup and ends with someone tragically dying. Hogwarts School hosts the Triwizard Tournament with two differt schools: Dourmstrang and Beauxbatons. They have to go through three tasks to see who the winner is. The winner wins one thousand Galleons. JK Rowling has written a masterpiece that nothing can compare. I doubt that I will ever see any book as eagerly anticipated as The Goblet of Fire had been! I always compared my other favorite books: The Golden Compass and The Subtle Knife to the Potter series and now Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire reigns supreme! This book left me hungry for more. Let's hope we don't have to wait too long for Harry Potter #5!

Summary: Another Fine Potter Book
Review: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, as promised, is darker and more sinister. Its darker tone, though, does not distract from the humor and good-natured fun that has become a tradmark of these books. You can see the characters growing up, as they become more aware of the opposite sex and have a greater understanding of life's difficult realities. I'm not sure how younger children will deal with the death towards the end of the book. I would suggest reading it together and talking about the issues that arise. There are also some interesting ideas about prejudice and slavery that come out when Rowling describes the house-elves and "mudbloods."

Overall, a good read. I would recommend it to my seventh grade students, but I'm sure they are all reading it already....

Summary: Another Victory for Harry
Review: I am a 5th grade teacher whose students have convinced her to read the Harry Potter series. Last year I read books 1-3 and anxiously awaited Book 4. After finishing the over 700 page novel last night at 12:30 I wanted to talk to someone who had read it. I was surprised at the level of intensity Rowling has written this book versus the previous three. There were scenes which made me squimish and scared. Although Rowling's ability to develop incredible characters still amazes me. This book is a must read for Potter fans.

Summary: The Best Harry Potter Book Yet!
Review: Book four is by far the best Harry Potter book so far! Harry arrives at school to find things a bit different then when he left it last year. This year, Hogwarts is hosting the Tri wizard championship, which has been canceled for some time now. Other wizarding schools are introduced, as they play an important roll in the championship. Harry is faced with far more internal and external challenges than ever before. And the ending definatly came as a bit of a shock. It definatly leaves you hanging. I can'y believe I have to wait another year for the next Harry Potter installment! although I think it's going to be extremely difficult to out do this, but I think I said that last time...

Summary: The Series' Best New Addition
Review: This book is excellent. It has all of the characteristics of a harry potter book while adding some new twists. The book is so enticing that I could not put it down...

Summary: A Good Book with some problems
Review: This book has some of the original magic of the beggining books of the series, but it also has some problems. The plot while it developes, goes off into to dark of a manor for some young children who might be reading it. The book tho does have some of the elements of the origianls but seems rushed and too long with too much filler. Overall it is a good book worthy of 4 stars.

Summary: The End of Fun and Games!
Review: Once again J.K. Rowlings shows not only her excellent imagination, but her expert understanding of children and adolescence! I found The Goblet of Fire to be the best and most exciting Harry Potter yet! Harry, Ron, Hermione, and the rest of the Hogwarts gang are back to start their fourth year at Hogwarts, sounds like the first three novels? Not at all! J.K. Rowlings makes this book a major turning point in the life of Harry and all wizards. Voldmort is not gone, and he is trying to rise again . . . This book is an excellent read and escape for all ages; but, please read her books in order to truly enjoy the world she has created. Fans should also look for books by John Bellairs, especially The House with the Clock in its Walls, and The Figure in the Shawdows.

Summary: You can not put this book down
Review: Rowling does another great job. I was not disappointed after waiting almost a year for this book. She gives us a fourteen year old Harry that has grown emotionally and physically since the last book. She has stayed true to his character as a growing teenager. We get a lot more detail in this book, hence the 734 pages. I enjoy the detail and appreciated it from the author. There is also more background information about all of the characters. Some of the mysteries in the past are cleared up and you are given a better understanding of what happened during the days of You-Know-Who's power and why Harry is made to suffer at the Dursley's house all summer. However, she created more mystery for the future. Rowling warned us that this book is darker that the past and it is. However, we are starting to see Harry act like a teenager and the lighter moments of being a teenager outweigh the darker ones. We are given more of an insight into the Weasley family and how they are a surrogate family for Harry. By being true to Harry, Rowling may be starting to lose some of her audience. Harry is a teenager and certain things come with being a teenager. I would not recommend this book to anyone under ten. As a teacher, some of the suggestions that are made in this book, I would not want my third graders reading. Even though I know they will. I see this being more of an issue in the future books when Harry is 15 or 16. There is enough of an ending to close out the book. Rowling is setting everything up for the showdown between good and evil that we have been being prepared for since the first book. Rowling leaves you hanging on the edge of your seat wanting to know what happens next.

Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Review: I just finished reading it yesternight. I am 11 years old and I think it's the best one yet! Mad-Eye Moody the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, the Death Eaters, Wormtail returns, the bogus conversations between Rita Skeeter and Harry, Hermione's obsession with house-elves...The Voldemort-detector scar, the Triwizard Tournament, Harry's conversations with Sirius, and the madness of Mr. Crouch are only a few of the many, many, many exciting things in the 4th Harry Potter!
