Rating: Summary: BEST HARRY POTTER BOOK SO FAR! Review: This HAS to be the best Harry Potter book yet. I just finished it today and I LOVED it. It was long, yeah, but it goes really fast once you start reading it. I know that some people are probably going to say that all the stuff about Cho and Fleur and the Veela was horrible and should never have been put in there, but give me a BREAK! That's life! I'm not going to say much more about the book because a lot of people haven't read it yet and that would ruin it for them, but it was great, no matter what anybody else says.
Rating: Summary: Very good book..... Review: Like the previous Harry Potter books, the storyline include tons of plot twist and unexpected surprises. In this book, we find out more about the events leading after the initial defeat of You-Know-Who and also included two major magical events: Quidditch World Cup and Triwizard Tournament. However the storyline is a lot more sinister than the previous Potter books. There are parts that reminds me of the events after WWII. I don't think it is suitable for young children. I am also a little bit disappointed with one of the sub-plot involved with Granger, who seems to argue pointlessly at the beginning of the novel about the elf-slavery. That particular subplot did not go anywhere and was later drop by the author.
Rating: Summary: Loved It! Review: I started reading this book and didn't put it down until I had read all of it. I love the charactors the plot and the story itself. Now if only there were a way to make book five magicaly appear!
Rating: Summary: Gets better and better as the series grows. Review: J.K. Rowling's new book in the Harry Potter series is a superbaddition to its already good titles. I enjoyed every page of it andfound the like Harry, the contents of the book is maturing. She has captured the image of a typical 14 year old and how they view the world. She has a few darker themes that might surprise some, but the book would be incomplete without them. For parents it will provide some opportunities to teach the child about death, bigotry, coming of age, and many more. Harry's fourth year is his strangest yet...New characters add depth and mystery. The ending surprises you once again. Enjoy it!
Rating: Summary: Even better than the book! Review: Everybody loves the Harry Potter books! But they always take FOREVER to read! Well if you get this awsome CD thingy, you can just sit back and listen to it over and over again! my family loved it!
Rating: Summary: The Greatest of the 4 Books Review: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was the most exciting book I have ever read. It has all the greatest qualities: suspense, thrill, mystery, and also has some sad areas. Because this is Harry's fourth year, he and his friends, Ron and Hermione, are more mature and seem to be taking a romantic interest in other students. There are also 2 other schools that are introduced. Harry goes through a lot in his 4th year: from the Quidditch World Cup to the most terrifying experience of his life. Every chapter seems to leave me hanging. This always seemed to make me read more. I had finished the book before I'd realized it. It also had a more complex story line than I had expected. I'm 13 and I think this book rules. If anyone is thinking of reading this or any Harry Potter book, I definitely suggest it!
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Review: Harry Potter fans will not be disappointed. This book explains many past occurrences and builds the foundation for what is sure to be a very exciting book five. We get to meet all the Weasley's. There are giants, mermaids, dragons and other magical creatures. There is no Quidditch in school this year, but it is replaced by something exciting and different. Harry's old friends and enemies are back, including "You-Know-Who." I was disappointed when I finished it. I knew that I would have to wait another year to continue the story.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Review: As with the previous three Harry Potter books, I bought this book for my eight year old son to enjoy. Also like the previous three, I found myself captivated by the writings of J.K. Rowling. The fourth book lives up to the rest with it's exciting descriptions and plot twists. Moreover, the book does seem to drag a bit at the beginning. Harry and Hermione Granger (one of Harry's best friends at Hogwart's) are invited to attend the Quidditch World Cup with the Weasley family. Ron Weasley being Harry's other best friend at Hogwart's. There are some humorous situations as the author descibes the attire worn by various witches and wizards who are trying to resemble muggles (non-magical people). The Quidditch match itself is not as exciting as those played by Harry and his team against other houses at Hogwart's. Possibly because the reader has not been able to develop an understanding of the World Cup players as thoroughly as the players at Hogwart's. Chapter twelve was when I was finally able to feel some familiarity with the previous books. It is in this chapter that Harry returns to Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The arrival of the students at school mimic the same details as before with the exception of the cancelling of Quidditch games in favor of the Triwizard Tournament. An event which has not taken place in over a hundred years. For this tournament, representatives from two other schools of witchcraft will descend upon the school as they compete to win. Although there is suppose to be only one champion from each school, Harry's name is somehow regurgitated by the Goblet of Fire as a participant. This leads to three tasks that the players must compete at. All the descriptions of the tasks are riveting and the reader will find themself turning the pages frantically to find out what will happen next. It is during these three tasks that the unfortunate death of a key person takes place casting a dark feel for the rest of the book. The end of the book does not leave the reader with the same feelings as the previous three, but rather a bit detached. The author has left many story lines open to address in the following installments which of course will have the reader greatly anticipating the arrival of those books. All in all, the book was a fantastic read proving that J.K. Rowling is a true master of fiction.
Rating: Summary: The best book yet in this terrific series Review: I had very high expectations for this book after reading the first three. I loved the first three, but "Goblet of Fire" completely blew me away. The descriptions of the scenes and new characters were wonderful, and the plot was great. It had so many twists and turns in it I had no idea what was going to happen next. The old characters like Ron, Hermione, and Harry continue to become more interesting and involving. This book went far beyond my high expectations. I recommend it to everyone.
Rating: Summary: What an Amazing Book! Review: This book is nearly impossible to put down. The Harry Potterseries may be classified as children's books because the maincharacters are children, but HP is plenty entertaining for adults like me! Rowling's writing has improved over the course of the 4 books, and you hardly notice the 700+ pages because the action moves so quickly. If you've ever tried to read a book in which the author seems not to know her own characters, you will thoroughly appreciate Rowling's adept character development and the characters' evolution over time. She knows them so well, it's like you're actually watching them grow up. You watch Harry and his friends mature into teenagers, act like teenagers, and have a teenage outlook. This fourth book has much more of a cliffhanger-type ending than the others, with many questions left unanswered. Some mysteries are solved, but many more have uncovered and await the fifth book.
