Summary: J.K. Rowling-always arousing the imagination
Review: Molly Westman

Harry Potter The Goblet of Fire was first published in 2000 and is about Harry's fourth year at Hogwarts. Having read all the Harry Potter books up to this one, J.K. Rowling does not cease to stimulate the imagination. She keeps your imagination bubbling from the opening sequence- a hazy fifty-year-old memory of the murder of the Riddle family, to the TriWizard Tournament's frightful end. The story is more thought provoking than the first three, and Rowling gets more in-depth with the characters' feelings and features.
Rowling leads you on an adventure suitable and enjoyable for all ages. The superb mix of thrilling fantasy magic combined with average school dramas is what makes these books so highly exciting. She makes it seem like they are characters we can relate to, and in doing so, we get lost in the world of Hogwarts and Magic.
One of my favorite things that Rowling includes in her stories is the distinctive growth of Harry Potter and his friends. From the first chapter in book one, you can see (read) the change in the way Harry looks, talks, thinks, and even solves his problems.
Some elements in the Harry Potter books are not completely original, but the way Rowling tells the story, they become new thoughts and ideas that you wouldn't notice have been used before.
Although it is the longest of the Harry Potter books (excluding the 5th one which I haven't read yet!) it truly is the most exciting one up to this point. Once you start reading it, it is extremely difficult to put down, as with the other 3 books. So any Harry Potter fan that hasn't read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (if there are any besides myself that haven't read the fifth one yet...) you need to as soon as possible, you defiantly wont regret that you did!

Summary: Harry potter and the Goblet of Fire
Review: This story was one of the best I have ever read. It is about Harry and the goblet. He got his named placed in the goblet and only 6 years and above and he is a 4th year. So it was a twist. So he got his named pick and had to do all of these tests. So the winner would get ALOT of Money. So interedted to hear more? If you are I suggest you read this book. I promise you well not be dissapointed with this book. I recomend this book to everyone. One of the best I think, but I am sure some people would disagree with me, but I think it is the best. So go and read! I give this book 5 stars.

Summary: Keep the books coming
Review: I love the adventure and excitement that is involved in the Harry potter books. They are fun for all ages. I have met fans from age 5 to age 60 and they are all excited to read the books. I loved this book even though it was more tragic than the previous volumes, it was still great to read and reread.

Summary: Great book
Review: Once again J.K. Rowling puts out another awesome book. The Goblet of Fire is really a book that you cannot put down. It is just as good, or better than the first three books of the series. I have to amdit that the first 100 pages or so are kind of long and boring but once you get past that part things start to get more and more exciting. Surprises are constanty happening throughout the story. New people are introduced also. Harry has to accomplish more difficult tasks as in the first three books. This is a great book for all ages. J.K. Rowling is truly a writing genious.

Review: I love this book soooooo much!
Of all the people that show up in this book Victor Krum. He's a very good guy.
Ron has always been my favorite character,he's just such a loyal friend.
This book is a must read. But if you're new it this series I think you should start from the first one (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone) and work up.

Summary: My thoughts on the fourth harr potter book
Review: I thought the book was excellent. I could hardly put it down because it was so full of action. I almost got grounded because I would not put the book down.

Summary: CD makes mediocre book a winner.
Review: Don't get me wrong....I LOVE Harry Potter and I can't believe I would ever call anything associated with this exciting book series "mediocre", but I was slightly disappointed with Goblet of Fire. The World Cup and TriWizard Tournament left me cold and I felt the book was at times too heavily-laden with details about life outside of Hogwarts. However, I trust that author JK Rowling is going to find a way to make all the info here relevant in future books.

Rowling strays from her traditional formula of opening the book with a Dursley disaster, and this unfortunately results in a darker, duller, tone for the book at the beginning. Goblet of Fire quickly slows down to a crawl when the two oldest Weasley sons are introduced and wizards from other countries are featured at a magical sporting event. The documentary feel of the early part of this book is especially depressing coming off the heels of the thrilling and fast-paced Prisoner of Azkaban.

But soon Harry is back at Hogwarts and the adventure starts again! Though this installment is darker than the first three, the lead charcters, Harry, Ron, and Hermoine prove they are mature enough to handle the heavy stuff. Though JK makes a few missteps (first date/dance scenes have been covered better in the Sweet Valley High series and new characters Victor Crum and Cedric Diggery each has the personality of wet cardboard), her writing does get much tighter towards the end and eventually races to a unbelievable finale!

As a book, I'd probably give Goblet of Fire 3 stars, but the CD reading by Jim Dale kicks it up a knotch. Jim is truly talented and has a remarkable knack for speaking the right voice and tone for each character.

Overall, I recommend the book on CD.

Summary: yeah it was drawn out a little, but it was different
Review: Okay the first few chapters of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire were kind of long and boring but it was the different because of that. There wasn't a Quidditch game, we knew Gryffindor was going to win, nor was there a house cup for Gryfinndor to win. Harry Potter and his reasons for being so angry had to be explained. Plus there was a bunch of new characters and their relationships with existing characters had to be explained. I think the Triwizard tournament was a good change from the Quidditch games. I really liked how the other character's were developed in this book, can't wait for the 6th book.
