Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Just OK Review: When I bought this book I was pleased to discover how long it was, but when I started it I was dismayed to realize what easy reading it was. It starts as the others did, with Harry's life during the summer, and then began the school year. This book spent a lot of time on the summer activities, but you'll have to read the book to find out what those activities are.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: great book Review: My favorite book remains the first one, however at twice the length this book does pack in twice as much fun (Quidditch World Cup, Triwizard Triathalon, etc).
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: EXCELLENT! AS GOOD IF NOT BETTER THEN THE REST! Review: This is a well-written masterpiece by J. K. Rowling. It is more detail-oriented then the rest of the books, focusing on humor and emotions, which may be why the book is so long! I enjoyed every page. It is well worth the time to read it.It is however, more violent then the other books. I hope you enjoy this books as much as I did. GET IT NOW!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Love and...Zits at Hogwarts Review: Fourteen-year-old Harry Potter deals with adolescence...in the latest installment of J.K. Rowling's successful series. While longer (700+ pages) and somewhat scarier, it is every bit as much fun to read as its predecessors...Fans of the first three books will be glad to see the return of some favorite characters. Dobby, the elf Harry freed in year two, shows up as does Sirius Black, Harry's godfather. Rowlings deftly weaves them into the plot without becoming repetitive. The author's unique sense of humor permeates nearly every chapter, and she even sneaks in some jokes that only adults and older kids will get... The characters use a few bad words in this book, as teens are prone to do, and you get the sense that the author is aging the material with her audience. But they remain likable kids, and that's the real charm of these books...The kids rebel, push rules, get punished, but there is an underlying respect, not to say veneration, for their teachers and parents (except for the Dursleys of course). Rowling doesn't moralize much. A glaring grammatical error blunts one of the few attempts to make a point. Still, the books do teach moral lessons and are even a little inspiring at times-but don't tell the kids.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Just as wonderful as the rest Review: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is a terrific sequal to JK Rowling's first 3 books in the series. It was just as good, if not better than, the previous books. Harry, Ron and Hermione face a handful of new challanges, and a lot of information is given that sheds light on many other crucial characters in the book. Even though this book is clearly a sequal, it is not predictable or trite. I was pleasantly surprised with the twists and turns Rowling placed in the storyline. I highly recommend HP4 to anyone who has enjoyed the other Harry Potter books.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of FIre Review: This was the best book in the Harry Potter series so far! J.K. Rowling keeps her magic coming in this book. A good read, hardly seems 700+ pages. I hope you find this review helpful!
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Irresponsible Subject Material Review: Although Ms. Rowling's command of the language and writing style are exceptional and quite engrossing, the subject material leaves much to be desired. The selfish and precocious use of witchcraft and wizardry are very dangerous indeed in real life and making these appear interesting and exciting to youngsters is very irresponsible. This material is not suitable for adults, let alone young impressionable minds. Please do not allow your children to read this book. And please encourage Ms. Rowling to apply her exceptional witting talents toward better ends. The reason for a low number of stars is the content. The reason for 2 rather than 1 star is the author's skillful style.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Best Yet Review: As an eighteen year-old, I'm a little older than Harry Potter's original target audience. Yet I, like millions of others, was caught up in the vivid world which J.K. Rowling creates. The first three books of the series are all good, light-hearted fun, enchanting to all ages. This book takes a new turn, displaying the versatility with which J.K. Rowling writes. From the first pages, you can tell that Harry is older, bringing all the evolution of character and world-view that comes with it. When we are younger, we blind ourselves to some of the ugliness in the world. Yet that very ugliness adds depth to and highlights the beauty and goodness in life. In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, we see the evidence of this in the characters and the storyline. It is darker, yes, but in the sense that it is more realistic in portraying He-Who-Must-Not-Be Named as the true incarnation of evil he is. It adds new depths and ranges to an already thrilling story, without overwhelming the inherent humor and light. This book is the most complex yet, leaving us with a lot to muse over during the long wait for book five.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Astounding! Review: I believe that Rowling has created yet another astounding storyline for children as well as adults , although I feel that some of the scenes with Voldemort need not be so graphic as to scare the wits out of children in the age groups You have outlined as readers. I , as an adult, however, enjoyed the sequel thoroughly , and did not put the book down until I had finished all 732 pages! I liked the way that Rowling employed new tactics to thrill her readers, and her ability to make us FEEL what was happening to all of her characters , new and old, this is what kept me glued to the book . I cried out at the sheer misery of the last few chapters. Bravo Rowling ! I can't wait for the next one!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Best Harry Book Ever Review: Filled with new storylines (and a few old ones, too), Harry Potter comes of age in the best in the series thusfar. Highly recommended to any fantasy fan, whether it's Quest Fantasy that you like or Empowerment Fantasy -- Harry comes to life again, draws you in, and won't let you put the book down.
