Rating: Summary: Magical Adventures Continue for Muggles & Magicians Alike! Review: If you have read the first three books about the suddenly magical turn Harry Potter's life has taken, then you CANNOT miss this newest installment! A great deal of media attention has surrounded the Harry Potter novels, but do not let the media make you skeptical. The Goblet of Fire is a well-worth-the-wait addition to the Harry Potter family of "children's" books. This is Harry's 4th year at wizardry school and while he is still dealing with school bullys and teachers that seem to have it in for him, new experiences seem to keep poping up wherever he turns. Unwanted media attention in the wizard's daily newspaper; more challenges from Lord You-Know-Who; and the most confusing challenge Harry has yet encountered . . . *girls*! Whatever kind of books you enjoy reading, Harry Potter has something for you. Read and Enjoy! I haven't been disappointed yet.
Rating: Summary: Harry's back.....And good as ever! Review: In the fourth installment of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling keeps us riveted and clutching our seats with action, suspense, mystery, humor, friendship, and even a little romance! This is a must-read for anyone! Even non fantasy lovers will love this book! Be warned though, you shouldn't read this book if you haven't read the previous Harry Potter books. Also, parents be warned, this book contains elements of death that might be scary for younger kids. In this book, Harry attends the Quidditch World Cup, the Triwizard Tournament is revitalized, (you'll have to read the book to find out what that is!) and, well, I don't want to tell you too much, it will ruin the enjoyment of reading the book! Wether you love fantasy stories or not, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will grip you and keep you begging for more!
Rating: Summary: Keeping up the high standard! Review: I bought the first Harry Potter book for my young son (then 11 years old) and we both got hooked on the series. I found that this 4th book met the high standard of the others -- perhaps even surpassed them in some ways. Rowling departs from the structure she used in the first three by beginning this one with a Quidditch match (a World Cup) and in many other ways throughout this book, which is indeed, as she has told us, darker than the other ones in terms of what happens by the end. But not so dark that it is unsuitable for children in any way, in my opinion. Perhaps very young children couldn't handle it (aged under 7 or so) but if you would read your child a Grimm's fairy tale, you could read this to them. The book, however, works on other levels besides fairy tale, and would be interesting to adults. Without giving any of the plot away, I can say that the descriptions in this book of life under Voldemort will strike anyone as psychologically true, if they are familiar with life under the various police states in the 20th century and Rowling makes a powerful plea for tolerance as she includes many characters from countries other than England in this book. However, the book doesn't become heavy at all -- her sense of humor is marvelously intact, as are all the little magical details that make the series so special, ranking in my opinion with the other great fantasies of the twentieth century -- Tolkien, Lewis, Lloyd Alexander and The Never-ending Story.
Rating: Summary: Very good book Review: The Goblet of Fire is a bit overlong and I was disappointed by its almost complete lack of quidditch, but it is as well written and contained enough suprises to keep readers on their toes. I enjoyed the ending very much. This is a must read for anyone who enjoyed the other three Harry Potter books. J.K. Rowling has done it again.
Rating: Summary: Rowling has done it again! Review: In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, we meet up with Harry Potter again, now a teenager. The plot twists are just wonderful, as usual. I don't want to ruin any of the surprises for any of you, but suffice it to say, this is my favorite Potter book. Rowling has done it again!
Rating: Summary: Best Book Ever Review: This book is best of all the Harry Potter books. It might be larger than Moby Dick, but every page is worth it!
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Review: I absolutely loved this book! It had a lot of suspense, action and a perfect amount of romance. A book for adults and kids alike! I think J.K. Rowling really captured all the details perfectly. It's almost as your living the book! I recommend this book to anyone.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter, Goblet of Fire Review: I am 12 years old and addicted to the Harry Potterbooks. ... With tons of new characters, and even a close up Quidditchfinal this book is very addictive. I found the basic Good-guy Bad-guy rivalry,(as in all books)But with a newer twist. How can Harry survive the latest challenges? Find out and read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire!
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter Review: I absolutly loved this book! It had a lot of suspense, action and a perfect amount of romance. A bbok for adults and kids alike! I think J.K. Rowling really captured all the details perfectly. It's almost as your living the book! I recommend this book to anyone.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter meets the challenge! Review: In her fourth, pivotal book, Rowling has readers on the edge of their seats, breathless as Harry dives into dangers on land and water. Seamlessly interwoven, past characters like Sirius, Wormtail and Voldemort reappear...Twists and turns, spells and hexes, treachery and trickery intertwine to leave the reader entangled in a book he/she will struggle to put down!
