Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: The Goblet of Fire burns well Review: This, the fourth and longest Harry Potter, is a watershed book in many ways. Harry is no longer a lost little 11-year-old orphan cringing away from his bullying uncle. He is now a rapidly maturing, self-assured 14-year-old young man. He has come face-to-face with horrors most people only experience in their nightmares. He has faced them and survived. This has matured him. He bristles at being called "little boy". And yet he still is frighteningly aware of his limitations.Harry and Ron are starting to notice those strangest and most frightful of all creatures -- girls! Their friend, Hermione, is on the same voyage of discovery, though from the opposite direction. This sailing in uncharted waters provides some of the most enjoyable sections of the whole novel. The book is a watershed in atmosphere, too. Lord Voldemort returns to power, leaving in shambles the nice tidy magical world we all know from the previous novels. The process by which he returns provides the darkest and most intense scenes yet from Rowling's pen. Parents of young Potter fans may wish to read the first chapter to determine if their individual child is up to it. Joanne Rowling is a master at subtle detail. Her characters leap from the page fully formed. The mental images of the scenery are crisp and clean. It is only when the book inexplicably loses that touch in spots that it begins to fail. Sizable chunks seem devoid of it. This leaves the reader with a feeling of incompleteness. Perhaps 700+ pages were a little too much for even Rowling's story-telling genius. But these are mere quibbles. This is a worthy book to be read and re-read for many years to come. Enjoy!

The characters continue to blossom and as the plot twists and twists again. New aspects of the overall, 7 book series, come into view. Things occuring in the past are revealed to add more pieces to the puzzle of Harry Potter. I could not put this book down.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: They keep getting better. Review: My sister and I agree that the Harry Potter series keeps getting better as the series progresses. The fourth book is very good and fast paced, yet again one that you just can't put down. The fourth book is a little more serious and scary but considering that the main villian in the series, Voldemort, is evil and supposed to be building his strength again for the climactic seventh book it should be expected to get a little more serious. Though the fourth book isn't quite as light-hearted as the first three books there are still plenty of funny scenes involving the many difficulties of being a teenager in school. The fourth Harry Potter book keeps your attention from the suspenseful first chapter to the suprising end. As Harry matures so does the plot line of the series and J.K. Rowling's writing. The only thing I have the complain about is that the fourth book was so good waiting another year for the next book is going to be hard.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Fantastic! Review: This is the kind of book you stay up all night reading - which is exactly what I did. The wonderful thing about Rowling is that she knows how to grip her readers, and keep them begging for more. I don't want to ruin the ending or all the surprises hidden in the book, but let's just say that Voldemort is at it again! It's difficult to watch Harry, whom we all love so much, get into so many life-threatening situations.... Don't miss this book, in my opinion the best yet in the series!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by: J.K Rowling Review: The fourth book of Harry Potter is so exhilarating! The book looks very long, but it whizzes by so fast! You won't be able to put it down! Some of the main events, such as the Triwizard Tournament, are so cool, you'll want to read those chapters again and again! In this book, you'll see the same characters from the other books including Harry's friends Ron, Hermione and his rival, Draco Malfoy. You'll also meet some new characters as well. You'll feel as if you're by Harry's side the whole time! Rowling has done it once again. I suggest this book to every thing in the world, including Muggles and Mandrakes.

Review: After waiting in a long line for over an hour and a half, at 12:25 am on July the 9th the book America and I had eagerly and impatiently been awaiting was mine.. and I was exhilerated and, yes...a bit worried. Would #4 live up to the promise of the of previous three books? Warily I opened Goblet of Fire while lying on my couch at 1 am that night...and at 8:40am I closed the book, more than satisfied to declare this the Best Harry Potter Book YET! Darker? Yes. But definately worth every minute I spent in waiting this last year. The only problem I can honestly say I have is that I have to wait yet another YEAR for the next installment of my favorite wizard and his charming friends. The last chapter of #4 is labeled "The Beggining" and indeed it is...the begining of another year long vigil, but I am happy to say, an undoubtedly worthwhile one, just as this past years was. Way to Go Ms. Rowling. You inspire us all, young and old.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Best Yet! Review: When Rowling said this was the most important novel of the series, I was skeptical, wouldn't the final one hold that honor. I was very wrong, this book was by far the best of the series and I have no doubt I will be saying the same about the next one. It's difficult to talk about the book without spoiling it for somebody but it is definitely worth the read and you will be craving for more Potter at the end.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Hoorah for Harry! Review: Yes! Harry's a great hero again, but this time he doesn't feel like a true hero! Read to find out how Harry tackles his 4th year at Hogwarts and how Hagrid finds a close friend! This book had so many more "charming" magical details. I know my 4th graders will read all 734 pages!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: improving author Review: This latest in the Harry Potter series was a real treat for those who were looking for more believable action in the story lines. As Harry grows up, he is beginning to learn that not every problem can be solved immediately. I think that this element from "real life" is one of her best improvements. My concern throughout the series has been whether or not the evil characters in the stories will continue to be evil enough to keep children from wanting to emulate them. This book was much more graphic, but I thought Rowling has continued to do a good job of keeping evil "evil." Good book!
