Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Readers permanently bonded with Harry Review: This fourth installment of Harry's life has me permanently hooked. I'm 22 and loved the book--my bros. aged 16,12,& 9, and my mother (50-ish) have all finished and loved the book. Admittedly the youngest had a nightmare or two related to the story, but we're all permanent fans. Thanks, Rowling, for writing a book that's so enthralling for all ages!
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Incredibly boring Review: I was totally dismayed by this incredibly boring book. Maybe my expectations had been high, but the story is just senseless and tedious. The so-called creativity borderlines on absurdity and insanity, and children will not benefit from this book.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Definitely darker, but just as great (if not better) Review: The latest in the Harry Potter saga is, as J.K. Rowling told us, darker than its predecessors, but it's still the best read in town (and I'm 26!). I won't go into the plot too much, since I hate it when people spoil books for those who haven't read them yet. But I must say that the reason I love this series so much, is that while the world that Harry and his friends inhabit is magical, the people are REAL. The reason that this book is scarier, sadder and more complicated, is because the characters are growing older, and that's what happens when you grow older: you realize how much more complicated life gets, and how, when it comes to a person's character, there are an awful lot of shades of grey, rather than just black and white. Nothing and no one is as clear-cut as it first appeared, and never will be again.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Harry Potter 4 Review: All I have to say is that this book is not as good as the first 3 books but it is still good in its own way. The worst part of this book is the ending because you dont know when the next book will be out.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Excellent as always! Review: I'm 28, I'm a graduate student and I really love Harry Potter. In this book, different from the first three, it's more emotional since Harry and his friends get older. It's the start point that Harry and friends start realizing about each other as "boys and girls". But, as it's always shown in every book, the freindship and caring among Harry, Ron and Hermione is still be found. (and to be honest, it always makes me happy). This new adventure of Harry is much more dangerous than he ever had before including the rebirth of the Dark lord which caused a death of somebody (you have to read it to find out who he was.) J.K Rowling also gave some mysteries that you have to find out in her following books. This book is just not for kids.. Recommended!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Great book, but could be better. Review: The Harry Potter books are turning out to be a sort of a milestone in children's books. They're "wonderful", "great", and "beautiful". I agree with this sort of description, however, it is important to point that this series of books is an epitome and therefore a generic example of any novel about magic. How is it generic if it seems so original? J.K. Rowling is a master at combining what every good book needs: the old war between the good and evil, lots of magic tricks, and a likeable main character (for we cannot not like Harry because he's an orphan, right?). The books contain all the ingredients any book about a school of magic should have: magical creatures, wise and evil wizards, strange spells, and weird professors. On the other hand, it is not difficult to find these in other books for children. Yet the fame of Harry Potter lives on - is it because we have forgotten to venture into the land of books and we only pick what is most popular? Nobody seems to remember Roal Dahl or J.R.R. Tolkien - the Harry Potter books are much easier to obtain (especially with all the discounts on them). Ok. I don't want to seem that I am against the Harry Potter books - they are pretty and well-written. It is nice to see little six-year-olds carrying the giant seven hundred page long books with them. But Harry Potter books is not all there is - try something else for a change, people, away with the cult of Harry Potter :) As for the book number four. The Goblet of Fire is well written although it seems a bit rushed. It is almost as if J.K. Rowling meant to write it as a longer book and had to stop herself to make it fit something. Also, it is much easier to expect who the guilty party is going to be. The previous books would have three kinds of suspects: a. the obviously guilty ones, b. the obviously innocent, and c. characters who were not suspects at all. In the previous books, it was the characters who were beyond suspicion who turned out to be guilty. Book #4 seems to be a slip, for it does not hold us on the same lever of excitement, for we easily predict who is trying to kill Harry Potter this time (simply by choosing b, not c). Overall, I give the book 4 stars, not 5. This book does not stand as high as the previous ones, yet, I still highly recommend it.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A Whole Year is Too Long to Wait! Review: J.K. Rowling is a master of her craft! How many authors could possibly write a book over 700 pages long and keep someone's rapt attention from start to finish? I am a 24-year old English graduate and I love Harry Potter! Rowling's plots get better and better with each new book and her writing is incredible. She has invented a whole new vocabulary with the creative words she has coined like "Muggles" and "Quidditch". I won't tell you anything about the plot, but I will tell you if you are a fan, you owe it to yourself to read this book as quickly as possible. On the other hand, it might be best to take your time as we do have a WHOLE YEAR to wait until we can enjoy another Harry adventure.....
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: They keep getting better! Review: This is my favorite Harry Potter book to date. There is greater character development and many of the plot lines started in earlier books are at last explained. Warning: It is a bit darker than the previous books.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Fantastic! (Parents please read) Review: I am a parent of 2 kids who love to read the Harry Potter series. I read the book in one 10 hour sitting. Reading 'Goblet of Fire' is an unbelievable experience. Again, Rowlings' imagination amazes. Keep in mind, though, that as Harry gets older, age appropriate situations arise, although none that would keep me from letting my 10 year old or my 8 year old from reading the book. I recommend parents read the book also, and not just because it's a blast. This chapter in the saga is a bit dark, and not as happy go lucky as the prior 3 books. Still, I'd recommend reading it to anyone, not just kids.
