Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Yes. Review: Yes, it's over 700 pages...but I still finished it in onenight. You won't find yourself counting pages left, I promise.Yes,it's up to par. Rowling continues with some threads she'd started in earlier books... and starts some interesting new ones... Goblet of Fire is a little darker than the earlier books, ...but I still found myself laughing out loud in several spots. If there's anyone left who hasn't read the earlier books, it's best to start at the beginning and work your way through, but Goblet of Fire does have plenty of reminders and explanations of what happened in the earlier books, in case you've forgotten anything. Also, a comment to parents who might be thinking of not letting their children read Goblet of Fire: please consider these points. Do you want to deprive your children of the chance to read a book of both literary and moral value that is still fun to read? Do you really want to keep them away from a book that has turned more non-readers into enthusiastic readers than anything in recent memory? Do you want to keep them from a story that teaches loyalty, perseverance, courage, and the value of learning and of independent thought?... END

Review: In the fourth installment of the Harry Potter series (which I have enjoyed immensely!) Potter has again travelled to the famed Hogwarths school of magic. But this is a new Potter. Rowlings seems to be comfortable with her bewitchingly famous creation, comfortable enough to let us see more through Potter's eyes. At 753 pages it is a whopper of a story with an outstanding climax and so many juicy leads that the next three books should be a snap. There is a greater sense of emotional depth, danger, surprise and conflict in this novel than ever before. It is fun to witness Harry, Ron and Hermione growing up together, meeting challenges and limitations with the same trademark elan that has made them famous and so lovable. Rowling is a master storyteller and she has built a smashingly riveting story from the scaffold of her previously three books. My only regret is the two days of my life that I cannot remember very clearly because I was riveted to this book. While I am sad that I have finished, I must work on other things! Read it and you will see what I mean.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: CANNOT WAIT FOR MORE! Review: This is BY FAR the BEST of the series. I am a 29 year old avid reader who hasn't been this excited about a book in a LONG TIME! J.K. Rowling just keeps getting better! Brilliantly written for young and old alike. Bravo to Ms. Rowling for not sugar-coating anything - life, death or otherwise. She tells it like it is and I think that is part of her tremendous appeal. And then there is the suspense: What will happen with the Dursley's? Will Harry ever get to live with Sirius? How will they defeat Voldemort? Will this take it's toll on Prof. Dumbledore? Wll Ron every get Hermione's "point"? AAAAHHHH! Hurry Ms. Rowling - the suspense just might kill me! When can I pre-order BOOK V!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Review: Wow! This book really was - as a lot of review titles state - the best out of all of 'em. When I found out that it had seven hudred odd pages, I was like "Good. This should keep me busy for a while." WRONG! I finished it in two days - it had me hooked. What was the term that they used in the book description for this? "Pivotal" or something? This is what I interpeted that as: that, for one, the books would be "pivoting" in their themes. You know; like the first three books were - for the most part, or until they reached the end - lighthearted with a hint of the "dark side" popping up every now and then. But now that Voldemort's back, things are going to be getting darker and darker and darker... Rowling was definitly right when she warned that this book would be a lot darker than the others. Which brings up another point. Is Rowling really sure that she writes for children? I mean, you have all of this "dark side" stuff going on, which is enough to terrorize most little kids. And all of the remembering that you have to do - you have to be able to remeber stuff from previous books and from the beginning of the book, etc., etc....Overall, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" was a great book. I'd reccomend it to anyone - Harry Potter fan or not.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: BEST HARRY POTTER SO FAR! Review: J.k Rowling is the best author of this century! She keeps coming back with great stories! This one the best! It had love, death & hatred! Even though it had 700+ pages, i read it in one day and half! Got me hooked, like so many others. You got to have imagination to read these, and maybe you dont! But reading Harry Potter helps kids all over America, who never read than what was assigned to them in class! RECOMMEND!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The best Harry Potter yet Review: The latest book in the Harry Potter series was, without a doubt, the greatest yet. The book provides a great deal of mystery interwoven in the plot, as well as lots of humor to lighten the feel of the story. JK Rowling continues to amaze with her crafty plot twists as well as the ingenius and thoroughly unique sub-plots. the character development is very strong and I was pleased to see more of Albus Dumbledore, the Weasley family, and Harry's Godfather Sirius. This is truly, as the book cover says, a pivotal novel in the series and a very tumultuous time for Harry as he begins to grow up. I would even reccomend this book to more mature readers, who may find that they greatly enjoy some of the minor aspects of the story. If I could have, I would have rated this book with 8 or 9 stars, and I will be eagerly awaiting the coming of the 5th novel (please e-mail me if you have any information on that topic).
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Really 4.5 stars Review: The fourth book in this series works as well as any of the others have. Providing the usuall intrigue, and adventure. This is in fact exactly what drops my rating of this book. I can't honestly say that i have ever disliked reading one of Rowling's works, but to me they seem to have a deep seated pattern about them. I think that she tried to break things up a bit with a few clever plot twists (won't mention them here, you'll have to read for yourself), however many times i knew exactly what was going to happen in the story. Other then what i mentioned no big complaints. And i guess the predictability couldn't be avoided really, since it would be hard to break up the normal routine of Harry's school year much without completly ruining the continuity of the story. I'm sure that as Harry grows up the books will begin to do like wise, becoming less predictable as well. Speaking of which, the books have a certain trend to grow exponentialy. From 309 to 341 to 439 to 743 pages from each book to the next. I'm hoping that book five doesn't reach into the thousands. Anyway keep up the good work Rowling, you really have a knack for creating an imersive believable fantasy world.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: tongue in cheek brit humor! Review: J.K. Rowling has outdone herself yet again in the fourth book of the Harry Potter series. The more I read of her books the more I am sure that it is MS. Rowling who is the magician, and not her characters. this book, like the former, was filled with the dry, brit, tongue in cheek humor that is so customary in writers such as Roald Dhal, and Rowling. I feel that MS. Rowling went into much greater emotional depth in this book , and the detailing of magical phemomenon was such that I could see it happening before my eyes! If Ms. Rowling continues to write in this vein, I will be her most ardent fan!
