Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Review: "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" has got to be Rowling's best work to date. Not only is it tottaly captivating, but it is also completely spellbinding. It is the type of book that once you pick it up you will not want to put it back down again until the last chapter, sentence and page have been read.

Summary: Rowling Raises the Stakes by Taking a Sinister Turn
Review: I write this review from the standpoint of the PARENT of a great fan of Harry Potter (my 7 1/2 year old son). The exploits of Year Four are by far the most fascinating and dramatic of all of the volumes. This is an outstanding book, but I would ask you to be considerate of your child's reactions to the story as it unfolds. The emotional toll is heavier than it has been in the first three volumes. Year Four marks a dramatic turning point for Harry Potter. He discovers the larger wizarding world in many ways. As always, there is the delightful and the humorous, but the dark and sinister side of wizard life is thrust to the fore as well. More Weasleys are introduced (Fred and George have even more entertaining practical jokes and schemes), the Quidditch World Cup is played, Hagrid has more fascinating magical creatures, the awkwardness of teenage crushes and boy-girl relationships gets more attention (Hargid even has his moment), and as always, Ron, Harry, and Hermione have all sorts of escapades. But the more sinister and reprehensible reach an all time high in Year Four. The cruelty that can be exhibited by hateful and prejudiced people (the followers of Lord Voldemort) is described more fully and vividly. Excellent examples of the ease with which people (wizards) can subjugate others (house-elves) or deem them less worthy by arbitrary characteristics (Mudbloods) are brought out in both new and familiar characters. Most powerfully, and this was distressing to me as the father of a VERY YOUNG Harry Potter fan, the capacity to take human life without remorse is portrayed twice. For the first time, a Hogwarts student is murdered. Having witnessed my son's reaction to the execution of Buckbeak in Year Three, I am deeply concerned about how he will respond to the death of a student in Year Four. Harry Potter is a wonderful fictional hero in a storybook life filled with tremendous adventures. His triumph in Year Four does not come easily nor does it leave you with the same lightness of spirit you may have experienced with the earlier volumes. Rowling, a skilled author, handles the "traumas" of the story in honorable and tasteful ways, but they remain emotionally challenging for younger children. Let your child enjoy this book (with you?), and be prepared to talk about it. This stimulating and sophisticated novel will stay with your child for a long time.

Summary: Great...
Review: I think the book was great but it lacked humor that the otherthree had. I think it deserves five stars because of all thesuspense. It was more serieus (wrong sp) than the others though. But all in all it was a great book with a unexpected ending. My dad read the 3 books and liked them. I think they are some of the best books written. I read it in one day but then again I didn't sleep all day either. I hope that everyone enjoys this book as much.

Summary: Awesome book!
Review: Harry Potter and the Goblin of Fire is the best book I've read in my entire life. I LOVE the Harry Potter series, and all of JK Rowling's books are great, but out of the 4 Harry Potter books, the best yet is definitley this one. I suggest you read it over and over until you agree! But anyway if you haven't read any Harry Potter books, don't read this one first it'll spoil everything. I gave this book five stars because this is one of the best books of all time. With 734 pages, it's filled with a story of magic, a fictional world, and so many other things that will make you never want to put this book down. READ HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLIN OF FIRE TODAY!

Summary: My New Favorite book
Review: The 4th Harry Potter book is GREAT! Why? Because J.K.Rowling used a lot of imagination (making up all the spells and coming up with the Triwizard Tournament...). Compared with the first 3, it's much longer, but it has more suspense and surprises. The book is also easier to read than other books I have read: The Hobbit, Lord of the Ring - for example. (although their stories are also exciting). It's SOOOO good, that I couldn't put it down- so I finished it in 2 days, with time for shopping and swimming (I had to go with my parents...). The part when Harry goes to a real Quidditch match gets really exiting (With the Dark Mark and Death eaters-the servants of Lord Voldemort). Most of the new characters come from the other wizarding schools(like Durmstang). When Dumbledore anounces that Hogwarts will be participating in the Triwizard Tournament, the whole school was exited. Who gets to represent Hogwarts? (Only anyone over 17). But you can guess who, I bet. The other night 2 ladies were arguing on TV over wether Harry Potter was a good book or not. One of them said it was bad because of witchcraft, witches and spells. The other one said that Harry Potter was a good book for kids to read because it's only fantasy. I agree with her and, like science fiction, I can tell it's not REAL. Harry is not on the bad side- he's against it and he is fighting it. Harry Potter books are fun to read, and they're really interesting too!

Summary: Absolutely the best yet.
Review: Absolutely her best yet! J.K Rawling another great job. The length of the book made it even better for from begining to end the excitement never let down and it was nice knowing there was so much more left to read. Mrs. Rawling keep up the good work. Can not wait to find out what adventures Harry will get himself into next.

Summary: EXCELLENTUS WONDIFERUS! Harry Potter Has Us Under His Spell!
Review: Many stories have striven to catch the minds of its readers, or its listeners for that matter. From the beginning of time people have made daring attempts at concocting amusing and diverting tales, but J.K. Rowling has spun a most convincing story. Since the introduction of Harry Potter to the public, thousands upon thousands, undoubtedly millions, of every race, age, and religion, have fallen under his spell. After reading the fourth, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Finished it in less than three days; I couldn't put it down!), I have to let it be know that Ms. Rowling does not disappoint. As every preceding Potter book starts off, the newest is no different: Harry is staying with his insufferable relatives, the Dursleys. And as always, he has found a new, more creative and exciting means of shortening his summer stay with his Aunt, Uncle, and cousin. Trouble invariably manages to find Harry, even at his seemingly secure refuge. Lord Volde-- oh, goodness, excuse me!-- he-who-must-not-be-named is at his strongest, and Harry is facing greater risk than ever before. This is Harry's fourth year at Hogwarts, and he is now fourteen years old. So along with life-threatening situations, almost losing a best friend, meeting new foes, dealing with old ones- namely Professor Snape and Draco Malfoy, and managing to get most of his homework done, Potter must also deal with the anguish and misery of being a teenager. Take it from me, I'm seventeen years old, and it's hard for me to believe that J.K. Rowling hasn't just experienced the cruelty of peers and at the same time, the exciting prospects that come with the whole "Being a Teen" package. Fearing that I might give too much away, I'll leave you with this tidbit: You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll learn how to pronounce Hermione, but most importantly, you'll want to read more, and become a better person because of it.
