Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Review: J.K. Rowling has outdone herself! This book is the best yet. I liked this book the best because it has great characters and there is always something happening. After reading the first three books the characters seem like old friends. Although the book has more violence than the others none of it is very graffic - very nice for my younger son who does not like a lot of violence. This is the type of book for both boys and girls to read who like FANTASY. Hermione is a bookworm but she also knows her own mind and is not afraid of using her knowledge to accomplish what she feels is right. I can't wait to read the next book, I hope that we don't have to wait too long.

Summary: A really great book
Review: This fourth installment in the Harry Potter series is the longest and probably the best among them. I highly recommend it to anyone, of any age.

Summary: A little less detail and more Voldemort!
Review: I can't believe the ending! They left Harry in the hands of the Muggles while Voldemort is loose? AACK! This book wasn't near as good as the other two. The Quidditch Cup lasted way too long. Several of the chapters could have been shortened and we would have gotten the same impact. I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan and I haven't been able to tell folks which of the first three were my favorite...but #4 will not be in the running for the best. Bring on the next issue! I can't wait to see what happens next!

Summary: A fun, charming read but no classic, for sure
Review: On the positive side, I read this book in 12 hours (yes, non-stop!), so obviously I did enjoy it enough to keep at it. I think Rowling conjures up a charming world, populated by wild things and people. Her imagination parallels that of another (older) British writer of children's books, Enid Blyton, who is unfortunately not well known in the U.S.

The weaknesses to the new book are the same as for the other books in the series: the plot lines are rather weak; the villains boring and unidimensional rather than really scary (does Voldermort keep you up at night? Thought not); the confrontations between Harry and the villains rather anti-climactic after the big build-up (the REALLY big build-up in the case of this latest tome).

I think she is a fun, enjoyable storyteller but I don't think she is in quite the same league as Tolkien or even C.S. Lewis. This Harry Mania that is sweeping the world is part-publicity stunt; part Harry just having IT appeal right now. These are light, charming books but those who think they're literature don't read very much!

Summary: Beyond the Best! J.K. Rowling lives up to the test!
Review: She's done it again! J.K. Rowling has written another exceptional book. Harry Pottter and the Goblet of Fire is the best book yet. The thrill of the book will keep you reading. I spent several nights on my bed reading until 1-2 in the morning.

In her new book J.K. Rowling takes a slightly different approach to the way she writes the events at Hogwarts. Instead of writing about Harrys' problems that he ran into in classes for the first half of the first three books, she moves her focus to the "extra-curricular" wizzard life.

From the start of the Triwizzard Tournament Harry was in grave danger. When he reaches the end and discovers that Lord Voldernort has risen again the book takes a sharp turn. Forgetting about evderyday life in the castle, Rowling introduces the problems that before had only appeared to Harry in his dreams. Unfortunately for the Wizzarding World, these dreams become a reality.

I highly reccomend tis book to anyone who has read the first three in order. Do not read this book before any others. The series Rowling has created was meant to be read from book one to book 7.

Now we hope that Book 5 can be as wonderful as the past four. We're waiting Harry!

Summary: J.K, Rowling has done it again...Another instant classic
Review: I have just recently become aware of the Harry Potter bookseries, through it's constant media storm. Out of curiousity my motherpurchased the four Harry Potter books for my younger brother. Out of my own curiousity I picked up Harry Potter and the Sorcerors Stone, and was hooked instantly. J.K. Rowling talent for storytelling is positvely astounding. I became an instant fan. In the week and a half that we've had these four books I have managed to read them all. I could not put neither of them down. It was only until I fell asleep with my head in the book that I was actually able to put the book(s) down. I especially enojyed Rowling's gradual evolution of her characters. Each of them growing up in their own unique ways, and noticing things because of their growth, that otherwise they would not have noticed before. Book four is the most amazing yet. It is also very different from the other three. Unlike it's predecessors this book will leave the reader wanting more than ever. I myself cannot wait until Harry's 5th year at Hogwarts. the fourth book leaves many dangling plots that will have Harry Potter fans running to the bookstores once again. If you're a new fan, such as myself, or an old fan, young our old, you will simply love this book. I myself cannot wait until that day comes, and cannot wait until the motion picture release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone in November of 2001.

Summary: considerably darker, but just as good!
Review: this harry potter book had a much darker mood and tone to itthan the others. Generally, the thought that everything would be allright made the other books easier to handle, because you knew people weren't going to die. But because of the rumors flying on the internet before this book had even been published (and written), pretty much everyone knew that someone we cared about would die. While i'm glad this book wasn't completely dark, the ending still made me cry, and it was a completely different feeling than i'd felt after reading the other three. While i enjoyed this book very much for its humor and its intricate plot, i was busy anticipating the death of someone unknown. But this book did live up to Rowling's standard of writing, and the way she displayed the emotions and happenings is, as usual, exceptional. The end of the book left open a whole lot of plot, but i guess that's how you have to keep us reading! This book was great because it lasted longer, and i am one who wishes that my favorite books will just keep going. This one did....it is by far the longest of the series, and that was nice. There are, of course, new creatures and new characters who add to the story, with Rowling's obvious touch of humor and amusement. She writes to include the reader, and that is possibly the best move she's made with this series. She makes it attainable, because the whole series starts out with an average 11-year old, one that every reader can remember being, and creates for him a new world, where he isn't looked over. Anyway, before i give away the plot, i would just like to say that even though this book is completely different from everything we've seen from Rowling so far, it is still an awesome book, and i think that everyone will enjoy it!

Summary: A Wonderful Web
Review: I couldn't wait to obtain my copy of Harry and the Goblet of Fire. Just as many Muggles, I had July 8th marked on my calendar. With each book I am more thrilled as I become part of the story, a wizard seeing the possibilities ahead. Part of the fun of reading about Harry is that I can pull together some of the pieces of the many puzzles that Rowling has set for Harry to unravel. This truly helps me become a part of Harry's life. I AM there at Hogwarts! And it is this magic, plus the sense that we can all be like Harry, face danger and fear and pull through wiser, with our friends alongside, that has captivated my entire extended family, from 5-80 years old. The fact that we all love these books has allowed us all to share a love of reading, across our ages. I can't wait to our family reunion later this month, when we can all share our disucssions of what hints we've uncovered from the wonderful everyday web that Ropwling has woven in all four books. I knew there was something special about Neville! Who knew that there was a REASON Harry must stay with the Dursleys' each summer! Have fun reading about Harry.
