Summary: best , yet
Review: My nine year old son and I have read every Harry Potter book. (Thank you for sending this on the very day it came out.) We believe each one is better than the last and the same is true for The Goblet of Fire. An exciting adventure.

Summary: Such a Great Book! I Couldn't Put It Down!
Review: This book has so many unexpected twists and turns. After finishing the book, I realized how wrapped up I had been in it. I even ate my meals while reading! I am anxiously awaiting the next book and will probably get it the second it comes out. Keep up the good work, Mrs. Rowling!

Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Review: J.K. Rowling succeeds again in this fourth novel of the Harry Potter series. She gains the attention of readers because of her imaginative and always interesting wizarding world. For example: Quidditch, the highly exciting sport has awed readers at it's own originality. Some low spots are when characters are deep into some intense dialogue, but that doesn't really spoil the book. I must say that the book is a bit more dark and violent. Surprises are around every page though. I would recommend this book for a present to a friend with a huge imagination.

Summary: An excellent book for all ages!
Review: I am 14 years old and had at first been a little bit reluctantto start reading the Harry Potter series because I thought they wouldbe kind of "kiddie." But once I read the first book, I fell in love with the characters and magic and adventure. I then read the second and third Harry Potter books, being excited with new thrills and adventure on each and every page. I even got my mom hooked on the series who had often declared that she hated fantasy and science fiction novels. Both of us were waiting excitedly for the 4th book, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, which we had pre-ordered off of the internet. When the book came in the mail, I started it that evening, staying up late into the night until I fell asleep. Then I began again, first thing in the morning. All in all, it took me three days to finish it. I then handed it over to my mom, who was waiting impatiently for me to finish. (It took her two days to read.) Out of all of the Harry Potter books, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is my favorite. JK Rowling has certainly done a terrific job on the book, and especially on the suspense.(I was sitting on the edge of my seat, holding my breath and biting my lip, for the majority of the book.) All of our old favorite characters are present in this book, including: Harry Potter(of course);his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley; the hilarious pranksters Fred and George Weasley; and the old and wise headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, along with the other teachers and students. There are also many new characters including: Professor Moody, the paranoid new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, the beautiful Fleur Delacour, and the handsome, talented Quidditch player, Viktor Krum. This book, indeed, was more frightening than the others, but it was absolutely neccesary to get a feel for how the evil wizard, Lord Voldemort, and his followers are. There was tragedy near the end of the book and I found my eyes blurred and stung by tears, causing me to splash cold water on my face frequently. JK Rowling has fit all kinds of emotions into this beautifully written novel: love, despair, grief, anxiety, courage, fear, anger, triumph, and humor are some. Also, there is the power of truth and the need of goodness to overcome evil. I recommend this book to anyone. It doesn't matter if you are eight years old or one hundred years old. JK Rowling has certainly written a masterpiece that is fit for all ages.

Summary: Old characters return, New characters appear: I luv U JK!
Review: JK Rowling must know an awful lot about kids; while reading this book and the parts about the Yule Ball ("Who are you going with?") and all the social storms that pop up frequently ("Why won't you talk to Ron, Harry?") I felt like I was taking a trip back into the halls of my school, where the same sort of gossip and arguments erupted.

The characters are better than ever in the fourth book- their arguments and feelings have turned more complex, an obvious sign that they are getting older- and they are much more entertaining (especially Ron, who rocks!) They're more mature with their language (mostly Ron, who still rocks) and if any of you parents out there think your kids will turn into delinquents if they see that dreaded four-letter "D" word four times in 700 pages, then you might want to steer clear of Harry Potter 4 (and about every other book out there with a reading level above 3) There is talk of people flicking each other off and swearing and a few rude but perfectly juvenile comments (y'know, a joke about "seeing Uranus" in Divination, that stuff.)

Many characters from previous books return, even if only for a page or two (Sirius, Dobby, Wormtail, Moaning Myrtle, even Stan Shunpike, the pimply teen on the Knight Bus). We learn the stories behind the characters, like why Neville lives with his grandmother, and why Hagrid is so big. Loads of new, intricate characters are introduced, including the challengers from the other two wizarding schools (who speak with accents that were cool to read aloud).

Everyone seems to be awed by the length of HP4. I say, "Yeah, well... couldn't it have been longer! " The longer the better, in Harry's case! I couldn't take my eyes off the pages, and not once did I get bored. The mystery is more complex and ever, and the climax was absolutely stunning. The 5th book is going to be awesome, mark my words. The ending of HP4 has set it up to be exciting!

You definitely have to READ THE OTHER 3 BOOKS OR YOU WILL NOT GET IT!

Summary: Bring on Harry Potter V!
Review: Harry Potter IV lives up to the hype and expectations. We picked up the book first thing in the morning and my daughter (age 9) finished before she feel asleep. Her review is "wow!" I (age 43) took a bit longer (4 days) but had the same reaction.

I've seen many comments on the length of the book, and I agree, it feels like it could be 100 pages tighter. If you're a Harry Potter fan, I think the first 150 pages are a bit slow as much of the story from the first three books is repeated, but once the new school year starts, the book takes off. I'm also tempted to say that there are too many extraneous details, but with Potter, it's hard to know which details are unimportant now, but central later on. (Remember Scabbers?). So while Rita Skeeter seems sort of a distracting subplot, who knows?

Summary: The Greatest Books of the Year, the Harry Potter Series
Review: This book is one of the best of the best books this millenium! The plot was so clever! Believe me, your guess would never fit the answer unless you read the book! I tell you J. K. Rowlings has hit the jack pot! You need to purchase this book because there'll nothing like it for millenuims! Now here's your chance.

Summary: Best one so far!
Review: Anyone wil like this new addition to the Harry P. collection. No matter if you are five, fifty, or one hundred! I like it beause it is magical, yet so believable! Harry is facing all of the problems and effects of being an adolescent, and I can relate to some of them. He is also facing the problems and effects of being a teen wizard at Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, such as helping his giant friend raise a dragon. It is a thrilling adventure, but don't feel apprehensive to read it to a five or four year old. Sorry, I am running short on words and time, adios (goodbye in Spanish)!
