Rating: Summary: The best of J.K so far... Review: I have to say that at first, I didn't want to read it, I thought it was too long, How wrong I was, this is definetly the best of the harry potter series, it has adventure, terror, suspense, even humor. I'm 16 and I can say that I'm another fan of this magician that has the world on his hands.
Rating: Summary: This end is only the beginning Review: As I sat down to the massive undertaking that would be me, a non-reader of sorts (having only tackled the third Harry Potter book, Star Wars novels, and a few abridged versions of the classics) trying to read-through the 750 page monster that this book promised to be, I wondered if I truely would get my fill of Harry Potter by the novel's end. Seeing as how this was the last book of the original four-part release, I fully expected a neat-little ending, that would seem like an end to the saga...only to have a small thread of inconsistancy pulled at and drawn off of to spawn the next book in the series. I don't think that I have EVER been more wrong. While I will not be so dirty as to give away the story, I will say this: the end of the forth book is nothing less than the BEGINNING of the Harry Potter series. While this book's conclusion does, in fact, tie up this episode in the saga, the meat of the Harry Potter story, that being, the inevitable battle of Harry vs. Voldemort, comes to a ferocious life as the events of this particular book, quite contrarily, find themselves coming to an end. Littered with coming of age bitter-sweetness, the comedy of romantic tension, and the sadness that comes when we open windows into the lives of those who are less fortunate than ourselves, this book will surely take on a different "theme" to each of it's 700 million readers. However, through this, the fourth installment of the Potter series, one thing remains unquestionable--that J.K. Rowling has crafted not just a good book, but a story that transcends it's seemingly unreal ingredients, and touches us on a strangely real level. Harry Potter rules.
Rating: Summary: Well Review: Ok, I understand that some people are lazy to read. But listening to twenty hours of talking is much harder(my sister listened to it, she made me mad)! My advice is buy a book!
Rating: Summary: Paco's Review Review: The Harry Potter series is very interesting. I've read all of them and the most recent one was Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire. This book was really thrilling. It kept you on the edge of your seat the entire time you were reading it. But the one bad thing about reading these books is that something always happens to Harry, it just doesn't seem that realistic even though it is a magical book. But when the fifth one comes out I will definetly read it.
Rating: Summary: Our friend Harry Review: My kids who range from five to fifteen are addicted to this series. This one we shared all together at our bedtime story hour. Rowling is genius. No eyelids start lowering or head start bobbing during this lively narrative.
Rating: Summary: Harry has Defintaley matured! Review: Amazing! J.k Outdid herself on this one! Not only is this book much darker than the first three,it stresses important subjects that are could not be expressed in a good way. 5 stars- it's awesome!
Rating: Summary: 2 thumbs way, way up!!! Review: In this book J.K. Rowling brings supense and mystery... and it almost seems that the charecters are alive and right their beside you. She will have you laughing on 1 page and on the edge of your seat in the next. I can't wait for the rest of the books in the sieries!!!
Rating: Summary: Harry's greatest triumph yet Review: J.K. Rowling shows that not only can she write a wonderful story and weave it through (soon to be five) books, but she _knows_ adolescents. For all their magical powers, Harry, Ron and Hermione are portrayed as very realistic teenagers.
Rating: Summary: More wizadry excitement! Review: If you're looking for a great book, my suggestion is Harry Potter Book Four. It's great, exciting, and mysterious! All Harry wants is to be a normal fourteen year old wizard. But, he's not normal even by wizardry standards. Read this book and I guarantee you'll be up all night till the very end.
Rating: Summary: ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS EVER! Review: As a lover of writing and reading, I have appreciated the subtle nuances of Rowling's work. I came to read her series because I thought the movies were very sweet and interesting. Books 1-3 are very enjoyable, and highly entertaining; however, with this fourth book Rowlings out did herself. I must say that this is one of best books I have ever read. I cried, laughed, and was jumping off my couch while reading. The fact that it is simply done enhances the emotional low and highs. JKR's vivid detail is engaging and I couldn't put the book down, literally. I started reading for a bit of fun, and eighteen hours later I was wishing that I had Book 5. Unlike JKR's previous novels, the "Goblet of Fire" dispenses with a lot of its redundancy (as explained by another reviewer). Here the reader is taken to a very large fork in a road in the world of Witches and Wizards. We are given our greatest insight, and I was astounded and breathless. I won't give away much of the plot, but I will say that everything is not as it seems for Harry. Friendship, loyalty, and conceived notions are threatened for our young friend. Beginning with his ill concealed delight to attend a World Cup Quidditch match with the Weasley's, where young Potter is introduced to the varying world of witchcraft. Yet, Voldemort has more in store for Harry, and characters of old and new faces must choose between understanding, or death. I refuse to give away more. You will have to buy the book and read for yourself. On a separate note, I am twenty-six year old female and lover of literature. I applaud everyone who even attempted to read this book, especially children. I don't understand what all the fuss is about, but pull your head out the sand folks. This is a great book, emphasis on book. It is an imaginary world that is really nothing more then a microcosm of our own. Magik is what gives it the spice of life, but all the more subtle and finer points is what brings it to life. When I have children they will definitely be reading these stories. Matter of fact, I may have to speed up the process so I can get started reading again. Happy Reading
