It kept me going. I honestly can not say one bad thing about this book. It keeps you guessing till the end, and the whole end it's self is to good. I'm 20 and I'm hooked to this books. There's nothing wrong with this book, all 700+ pages are well worth being there.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Mediocre Review: I grew up absolutely DRENCHED in wonderful children's literature - a lot of it fantasy, as I was a whimsical child that liked to just "half-believe" in magic. And I still certainly don't turn up my nose at those fabulous books that wove spells through my growing years... I still read and treasure them, and the rich magical worlds of enchantment and wonder. But while I'd love to welcome a genuine new gem to my bookshelves, Harry Potter simply doesn't satisfy, or awaken any dreams, and the writing isn't BAD, but it isn't by a long shot especially good either. It's simply mediocre. And the books don't have much depth to them - the best fantasies leave you almost reeling with the sudden strength of beauty or a rekindled sense of wonder. Harry Potter is entertainment. I think that the books should have made a modest splash amongst young readers, given the author enough money to live well and some personal satisfaction. And that's about all. The raving and bestseller-listings is too much - the books are too flimsy. I do wish happiness to the author, but I think that other authors are more deserving of the spots her books fill. And it makes me sad to see so many adults raving about them; not that there is anything wrong with reading children's fantasy, but it is regrettable that a richer series couldn't be found. At any rate, sorry if I seem to have stepped on a bandbox; I'm usually more prone to praising special works of art that I like. And I grant that there could be books a lot worse than these topping the charts. But it seems to me a dreadful shame that books that are merely entertaining and not especially well written, should be taking up so much precious time and thought from intelligent people. All in all, I say skip these, and go read something that will be good to you.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Excellent! Review: The fourth book in the series is definently the best. I thoughtit couldn't get any better but I was proven wrong with this one. Thisbook is not only for children, thats for sure! The plot of this story was definently darker and more mature than the other books and with Rowling's skill in writing, from portending to awesome plot twists, this book promises to keep you turning pages! The only bad thing I have (that is very minor) to say is that guessing the evil in this book was not as difficult as in the others. But it didn't weigh down on excitment. An excellent book, I'd brand this book as good for adults as it is for (older) kids.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: She did it again Review: Once again, Miss Rowling has worked her way into our homes andvarious reading alcoves to keep us glued to the goings-on of ourbeloved Harry Potter. I read this book in just over a week and I lost track of time. I just couldn't put it down, like the rest of the books. Once again, I was as surprised as anybody as to how the book turned out. This book would keep anyone turning pages, who has read the HP books. Otherwise it might just seem like another media-hyped, book-crazed, psycho-fan event. Maybe so, but at least we're not going nutters over something like Pokemon...
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: She's done it again -- but who's surprised? :) Review: I think Harry Potter may well prove to be the fad diet of theNaughties: the moment I purchased "Harry Potter and the Goblet ofFire" ... , petty habits like eating and sleeping were put on the back burner until the last page had been turned. It's well known by now that Rowling's prose draws you in (enchants you, if you will), and the fourth installment in the series is no exception. Never have I had the pleasure to read a series that has gotten *consistently better* with each sequel.. not until Harry Potter, that is. After staying up far too late on the seventh (or would that be far too early on the eighth--?), I stumbled out of bed and brought the newest book with me to the gym, drawing some interesting looks from the folks around me as I kept my eyes riveted to the pages instead of the treadmill readout. My only regret is that I couldn't continue to read it when I did my laps in the pool! =) Rest assured, those who doubted, that Rowling has, once again, surpassed herself. Not since Roald Dahl have I enjoyed so-called "children's books" so immensely; Rowling's dark sense of humor and knack for the fantastic remind me of such classics as "The Witches" and "Matilda," favorites of mine since I was a young'n. But curse the woman for writing so well -- it takes me one day to read the books, and a year for the next to come out! Ah well. That's what rereading is for, I suppose.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Zapped by Rowling Again! Review: Zap! Rowling has once again zapped her readers with another amazing tale of Harry Potter. From the beginning of Rowlings latest masterpiece, the reader is entrapped! It is simply not enough to read one chapter, because it is in the very first chapters that Rowling sets the stage for this engaging tale. She entices the reader to "read on" twisting and turning the plot, always keeping the reader intrigued. Just when the reader might presume to know where Rowling is headed, she throws their broom on a totally different course! Fear not Muggles! Rowling has definitely strengthened her powers, her writing is better than ever, and she leaves you at the end of this tale, wishing for more!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Harry Potter enchants us all once again! Review: This has to be the best book in the sereis so far. This bookcontinues through Harry Potters life at Hogwarts again, introducingnew obstacles for Harry to overcome. The characters have truly been brought to life. I couldn't put it down! I stayed up intil 1 A.M. Its truly mesmerising, and now i'm very anxious for the next book after reading this one in two days! Highly reccomended to all ages, but for the very young children it gets a little "dark" and they use a tiny bit more vulgar language, but that should definitely not stand in the way of this enchanting book. You thought the other three books were exciting? Wait till you read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Truly thrilling!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: ! Review: I loved this book. I didn't think it was possible for it to be more suspenseful and surprising than book number three, but I was badly mistaken. Also, I really wish Amazon.com would change the age range for this book. It's hardly 9-12. I'm the world's biggest fan of the real HP and I'm 17. The age range should be 9 and up. is that too much to ask?
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Why can't there be more than 7 books! Review: J.K. Rowling has done it again... she has enthralled millionsof readers around the world with her previous Harry Potter books, butthis one is by far the best. I truly do not know how to put the way these books are written in words except to say this- Rowling is an amazing author with a talent like no other, she thinks of things you would never dream of, and most of all, she describes things, puts together characters, and writes a book like no other author I know of. Before I read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, my favorite book was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. But now that I think of it... they are the same... there's suspense, emotion, humor, and wit. Those qualities, in my opinon, are the things you need most in a book... and Rowling has them all down-pat. J.K. Rowling is an extraordinary writer and the Harry Potter books are incredible. There's no getting around it.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Read immediately, repeat as often as possible. Review: Oh, joy! Once read, to read and read again, finding layers anddetails and delights missed in the first delighted consumption! Don'tread reviews! Go up the page! Read the book! Don't wait! (unless you have missed Harry 1, 2,3 ... then forwith to them!) How anyone, anywhere sees these books as anything less than delightful, innocent and endearing is a crime against reason. Down with the forces of darkness! Go forth and read!
