Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: As before, Rowling delivers a Magic-filled read Review: Eagerly awaiting J.K. Rowling's fourth installment in the Harry Potter series, I was not disappointed. On first sight, the novel would seem intimidating by its 700+ pages. Not to worry. The pages fly by, the action is swift, the story entertaining and in some instances funny, and her descriptions keep the reader locked into the story, not straying away and wondering what's for dinner. The "bad guys" in the story keep the suspense moving right along, right up to the end. Malfoy, the continuous thorn in Harry's side, is as deliciously malicious as ever, and there are many plot twists and turns to keep the reader on the edge of his/her seat. Rowling has done a magnificent job in developing characters - all the way down to the descriptions of each and how the characters react to each other. I am particularly fond of Ron's tiny owl, "Pig" (short for Pigwidgeon) who reminds me of an over-excited puppy that is so pleased with himself for getting to do a job, that he piddles all over the floor. Pigwidgeon doesn't piddle, but his overexcitement is obvious. All in all, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" was a very enjoyable read. J.K. Rowling does a good job of explaining a few "inside things" to readers who may not be familiar with them, and doesn't stray from the story in doing so. I'm only sad because the story ended and I have to wait for Harry Potter to spend his summer at the Dursley's before I can read about his 5th year. What a sensation these books have turned out to be!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Best Adventure Yet! Review: As an adult reader and elementary school teacher, I read the first book in the series after my students told me it was the best book. After one book, I was totally hooked on Harry. I had never even read fantasy until this series, but it is incredible! This book is by far Rowling's best and well worth the read. I read it in 3 days and even stayed up well into the morning to finish it. My only disappointment was that Rowling had said she was killing and important character and after reading the book, I was disappointed to see that it didn't happen. If you haven't read the other three, start there first and then read this. And if you're a parent who is hesitant to let your kids read it, don't be. There's nothing evil in these books and they are getting kids who don't read into reading!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Harry Potter turns non-readers into readers. Review: This is the best book yet in the series. It is exciting on every page. Rowling is an extremely talented storyteller with an incredible imagination. I finished the Goblet of Fire and was disappointed because now I have to wait for the sequel. Rowling ties up lots of loose end, only to create so many questions for the next one. I fully expect number 5 to be the most exciting HP book when it comes out. What I love most is that my students who hate to read or avoid reading are reading this book and loving it. Highly recommend, almost any age.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Yet another ranting of a Potter addict... Review: Rowling's done it again! A year ago, my mom bought the first two books in the series for my little brother and he didn't want to read them, so I said that I'd give it a go so she didn't have to buy them for nothing. Let's just say I've been hooked since the first chapter in the Sorcerer's Stone. I raved to my friends about them (they were a little skeptical, given that we're 16), but I lent the book to them and now they're just as crazy as I am about Rowling's wonderful creations! Naturally, I bought the Goblet of Fire the first second I could, and I didn't put it down until it was done. This book is darker and deeper than the others (and so far, is tied for my favorite along with the Chamber of Secrets), and the characters develop beautifully as you watch them grow during their fourth year at Hogwarts. Also, this book is where the general plot of the entire series starts to kick itself into action. The new book's arrival has renewed my love of the series, so I have started to reread all of them. It's amazing the way that Rowling captures the imagination and sparks the interest of the kid inside all of us that still wants to wave their magic wand and turn a match into a needle. (You guys know what I'm talking about...) I don't even see why we bother to write reviews, everybody in the world already owns the book! The only bad thing I could possibly say is that we're seven hundred odd pages closer to the end! I love this series, I love Harry Potter, and I love Rowling! I can't wait for the next book to come out!

Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Not a kid's book anymore... Review: I found the descriptions too wordy. Reading to my son who is 8, he often got lost in the dialogue. He couldn't believe Mrs. Weasley went on and on for over two pages when she found out about George's and Fred's business. My son asked, "Is she still talking about the same thing?" All the back-and-forth banter and all the adverbs describing everyone's speech, were just too much. One retort was described "guffawed sycophantically" ...Really? Yes, I thought it was pretty good...

I'd never have guessed it in a million years. I thought it would go in so many different directions, and closed the book even more excited for number 5 than I was to receive number 4.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Goblet of Fire is on fire Review: By far, J.K. Rowling's best! I was captivated the entire 700+ pages. I cannot wait until book #5.
