Rating: Summary: I read this in two days because it was so exciting! Review: This book was so great! I bought it on the first day that it came out and I read until 1:00 in the morning! Harry goes on so many new adventures, and there are so many new jokes! This book is definitely worth buying! I think the reason why everyone loves Harry Potter is because it is about our everyday lives, dealing with the bad things and the good things and the laughter. The Muggle world isn't so different from the magic world, and sometimes the magic in their world comes into our world and takes the shape of miracles, and this series is definitely a miracle.
Rating: Summary: A Feast of Words and Thrills Review: I think it's incredible that a book that has been in the handsof the public barely a week and a half has already been read andreviewed by nearly 1900 people. And in response to the critics of Ms. Rowling and her books, how can we deny success! As a high school librarian, grades 8-12, I am thrilled to find a book that captivates my students and helps them to find time to read something other than the required reading at their grade levels. And Ms. Rowling's ability to plant plot seeds that seemingly have no solution and then to bring together all those seeds into a tapestry of wonder at the end is fascinating. She is a mixture of Charles Dickens, Roald Dahl, and Arthur Conan Doyle. Give credit where credit is due. Our kids are reading! Hallelujah! And thank you, J.K. Rowling for your imagination and your ability to hook all of us into your world. Just keep 'em coming!
Rating: Summary: The Story Continues Review: Book 4 in the Harry Potter series is just that: the fourth bookin a sequence that was written to be read in order. Don't try to wadethrough the more than 700 pages of cryptic vocabulary if you don't already know the rules of Quidditch. If you've read the first three books, you don't need me to tell you to buy this book. But if you are not already familiar with Hogwarts, don't buy this book alone. Buy all four, and enjoy your plunge into a magical world. Also, don't expect a satisfying ending. As the middle book in a series, The Goblet of Fire sets the stage for what is to come, and doesn't tie up all the loose ends.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Review: I LOVED the "Goblet of Fire". Yes, I think it may be too intense for little children, but at least death is written as a finality and the wizards weren't made able to bring someone back to life. I think everyone needs to know that death is a finality in this world and life can be fickle. It is all very inventive and don't you wonder, just a little bit, about the mind that thought all this up? The creativity amazes me. The people are real with real emotions whether muggle or wizard. Few are all good or all evil. Situational ethics are still a problem while the fight of right vs wrong is not easy and not always obvious who is on which side. A minor irritation: There is a typo on page 155, first line. Seems like they could have editied this correctly since they took so long to publish it!
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Review: this book takes you into a world that you may love so much thatyou would do any thing to get into it! J.K. Rowling made it easy torelate to every charater from Winky an unhappy house elf to Voldemort the darkest of all the wizards!
Rating: Summary: Getting better all the time Review: It's clear that J.K. Rowling has laid out a plan for all sevenHarry Potter books -- and that plan makes Harry's world aprogressively darker and more dangerous place. As with The Prisoner of Azkaban, the Goblet of Fire sets up events, characters and situations that linger in our memory long after we finish reading the story. That's the mark of great story-telling, regardless of whether that story is aimed at kids or adults. Events from book-to-book are starting to move like an accelerating steamroller. Rowling ends book four with extraordinary momentum. Bring on book five, and make it snappy.
Rating: Summary: The Goblet of Fire Spreads Like a Wild Fire In the USA Review: We all knew it was coming... and now that it's here every boyand girl in America wants it. What is this new craze? It's calledHarry Potter and 'The Goblet of Fire'. The first thing I said after putting the book down was "WOW"! This series (Harry Potter) is going to be a classic folks. If you haven't heard about it, you will soon! These extraordinary books tell about a young wizard who overcomes a great deal in a short amount of time. Now, I won't spoil it for 'ya, but if you don't get your hands on these books soon... You probably won't at all! They're running out fast so J.K. Rowling better get that pen moving now or never.

Rating: Summary: what more needs to be said! Review: What more can be said about this book? It has action, adventure and an excellent plot! By the way, Conan O'Brien is right!Harry Potter looks just like Max Weinberg!
Rating: Summary: as good as a golden unicorn Review: I couldn't put this down..The first 150 pages are a bit slow ifyou've read the first three books, but it is also nice to read of allthe old friends--like putting on one of Mrs. Weasley's Christmas sweaters. Anyway, what I think is so valuable in this book is Rowling's knack for characterization. These folks are vivid. This book also masterfully steers Harry through a turning point in his life without making it overtly obvious to readers. We are not bludgeoned over the head (so to speak!) with Harry's teenage angst; instead, it is woven into the narrative. As a teacher I have to say that I hope all my students read this--it is a fun book that gives imagination a workout while also connecting with some of kids' biggest questions about parents, crushes, school, friendship and, of course, how to battle a blast ended skrewt.
