I'm a Harry Potter-crazy guy who finished this awesome 700+ page book in about 2 days. You may think a book that's almost 2x as longer than the third book would become a drag after awhile, but then you'd be wrong. As the story progresses, J.K. Rowlings draws you into the book and the book gets more and more suspenseful. Wonderful new characters are introduced as well as all the old favorites. Action, adventure, sports, death, romance, happiness, sadness, anger, and pain are all packed in this jaw-dropping, "can't-put-it-down" book. My suggestion is "Definitely read this book! "
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Wow! Review: "Wow" is all I can say. This is perhaps the best book in the series so far. It starts off with nothing unusual going on, but soon several new occurrences take place, such as the Tournament. I'm glad that this book does not have a Hogwarts Quidditch Cup in it, because that was getting rather old.... The death is an amazing shocker near the end of a great story. A very hard-to-put-down book, despite its dictionary size. A must read!

This book has it all suspense, love a great fight scene I just can't wait for the next book. It was unbelieveable. I can't wait for the next installment this book unlike the rest had so much more going on it. J.K Rowling has out down herself once again how could she posibly write another just as good, But she don it before and I know she'll do it again. The tasks were so suspenseful. I think I'm going to read it again I highly recommend it.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Rowling Has once again Outdone herself! Review: When I first started this book, I had extremeley highexpectations. However, once I plunged further into the book, Idiscovered that I couldn't put it down untill the end. Now, upon completion I can confidently say that this book does deserve to be compared with great fantasy works, such as Tolkien's Rings Trilogy, and Lewis' Chronicles of narnia. Like Shakespere, Rowling has the ability to write for a wide range of audiences, young or old. I would definately recomend this book only to people who have a lot of time for reading, or else this book will take over whatever else you want to do!

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Not quite five stars Review: Perhaps the most anticipated book in recent history,J. K. Rowling's latest installment in the Harry Potter series does notdisappoint. Continuing the saga of Harry Potter and his friends, the book recounts their exploits in the fourth of seven years as students at a modern day wizarding school somewhere in England. Despite its length, the book is as tightly plotted and well written as the first three books in the series; the writing still seems targeted at the juvenile market, though as with all good juveniles, it is eminently readable by adults as well. The book introduces a number of new characters - one reason for its increased length - and even the adult staff of the school, familiar from the preceding books, seems more deeply characterized in the present volume. For this adult reader, the activities of these supporting adult characters, hinted at in the text, seem far more interesting that those of the protagonist and his friend. The one troubling aspect of this book is that Harry Potter is not quite a worthy hero. He stands by his friends, fights for the good guys, and foils evil, yes; however, he is too willing enjoy discomfort inflicted on those who are not in his clique, as evidenced by his treatment of the long suffering Dursleys, a family who has Harry forced on them while he is not at the wizarding school. Recognizing good and defeating evil are important things, but taking comfort in the pain of others is not a lesson that needs to learned, by either children or adults.

This book has it all. From the first dark chapter to the thrilling finale I could not put this book down. Forget the love interest that was mentioned in the press, this book is the most humorous in the series, but it has a dark core that is leading to a fifth book that will really thrill us with the blacker side of magic. This series will bewitch children and adults alike for years to come. I originally bought the first book for my 6 yr old daughter and ever since I have been reading the series to her every night. She loves it.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: JK Rowling does it again Review: At age 43 I guess I'm considered an Offical Grown-Up by now, but I've just spent the last three days alternating between picking up the book and reading voraciously, putting it down and firmly telling myself I had too much to do to just sit and read all day, and looking at it longingly every time I walked by. I finally gave in and just read until I was done! Once again, the amazing creativity and vivid details had me riveted. I think it would have been better if I had read the other three books more recently, as I found myself trying to remember how details from the current book related to some of the connections, characters, events, etc. from the past books. Even though there was some predictability in the plot (I don't want to give it away, but you just know certain things have to go a certain way to keep the audience happy), there are more than enough unexpected twists and turns built in to keep the reader guessing.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Marvelously Enchanting and Magical! Review: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was really good."Chamber" was great. "Azkaban" was amazing. ButHarry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was, well, powerful. There are many superlatives that could be used to describe it, but none so fitting. The hype over Book IV was so great that it built a level of anticipation among readers. And, as I read the book, it only grew. My friend and I mistook lightheartedness for monotony, but upon my second reading of the book, I found how wrong we were. This book, widely acknowledged to be "dark", has many hilariously funny, entertaining chapters, especially in the first half, but riddled throughout the book. This book is indeed pivotal. The comfortable pattern of complacent endings found in the first three books was not to be found in this one. The last chapter left me wondering how a book so long could seem so short, and begging for more. Ms. Rowling's writing style has improved drastically with each novel, but in the fourth Harry Potter book, she reaches a new plateau: a surprising combination of the known and unknown; the natural reactions and the powerful ones. The job of a fantasy writer is to introduce readers to a new world, and let them believe that they know it, and the characters, as if they live there. And Ms. Rowling is a tremendous fantasy author. Her amazing ability left me drained at the end of the book, because I felt as if I knew the characters, and as if their hardships were happening to me. Ms. Rowling has the unique ability of making us feel emotions-all for words on a page. And that is the mark of a true, gifted author-one that I can't help but love. Why did I love this book? It has everything wonderful in it. Excitement, magic, comedy, suspense, House-Elf Liberation Fronts-and a few wonderful digs about tabloid journalism. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire answers a thousand questions-and leaves us waiting with a thousand more. It shows that a great book does not have to be written for adults, or be a revered, antiqued relic. It is any book that touches our minds and hearts-and Harry Potter, as we all wait, enchanted, for the next volume, certainly qualifies.
