Summary: Sorry, but it was just not as good as books 1-3!
Review: Don't get me wrong. In the end I liked Goblet's plot as a whole...But, jeez, would anyone like to concede that, just maybe, Rowling's story telling has become a little long-in-the-tooth? Yikes! I, like everyone else on the planet, anticipated with excitement Goblet of Fire's July 8 release, but, was frankly disappointed to find I could (just) barely make it thru the books first two chapters! I could not believe how different book 4 was from 1 thru 3, how distracted the author's writing had become and how frankly commercial Goblet was. I have nothing but praise for the other books in the Harry Potter series but where I could not put the first three down, with Goblet- I couldn't force myself to pick it up! I actually had to read Goblet's last 100 pages to motivate myself to trudge thru the first 600-plus! How sad is that? In conclusion, yes, I did finish book 4 (actually chapters 1-2, then 8-37--I skimmed the rest) and would recommend book 4 to others, with a word of warning...This book was most definitely forced! Goblet's plot could easily have been told in 300 or 400 pages. I'm crossing my fingers that Rowling finds a better editor for book 5.

Summary: This Book Was Great!
Review: Hi. I'm a 9th grader and when I first started these books, I was planning on reading them to my 7 year old little brother. As soon as I finished the first one, I ran out to buy the other 2 that were out. I have waited a year for this book and it was worth it. This book was darker than the other 3, but that didn't spoil the story. A perfect adventure/fiction for all ages. I cant wait a whole year for the 5th one! Oh, and the TIME article for this had a picture. Take a look at the owl. In that it is brown, but it clearly states in many places in the book that Hedwig is a Snowy Owl, and concequently white. OOPS! But READ THIS BOOK!

Summary: The turning point
Review: I have to admit, Rowling has outdone herself this time. Thisbook is an incredible new addition to the Harry Potter saga. It's awhole new world! Old fantasy tales and folklore combined with a twist of modern life make this series unique, creative, and virtually indstructible! The first three books were very effective in setting the mood, plot, and establishing character relationships, but it seems that signs of the final battle are becoming more and more apparent. Voldemort's power is growing, Harry is becoming stronger, and the Ministry of Magic is getting more twisted and devious by the minute. Yes, this book is definetly darker than the others. But I think that this is what the story is about. A boy destined to defeat the ultimate evil and save his world, starting out small and getting more and more skillful. Poor Harry may have not asked for this duty, but that's what makes the book so wonderful! He is a seemingly ordinary kid with extraordinary abilities. He's the person we all dreamed of being, the kind who can save the day and still has to live with everyday problems. We can relate to Harry, idolize him, or both. As usual, the humor and drama were outstanding, and I stayed up until 12 each night reading. I really am starting to get attached to Hogwarts. It has a lot of similarities to OUR schools. Traditions, it's own set of cliques, and teachers that no one really likes, but no one really hates either. With such a familiar atmosphere, it's no wonder we've all fallen in love with this wizarding school. It makes you want to got there, and it makes you feel like you're at a real place. Despite the length, this book is definetly worth it. I can't believe we have to wait a whole YEAR for the next one... I'll be a third year student by then! (I still haven't decided what kind of broom to get. I'm going to try out for the Quidditch team.)

Summary: Best One Yet!
Review: J.K. Rowling has written her best Harry Potter book yet. HarryPotter and the Goblet of Fire takes readers on an imgnative andthrilling adventure through year four at Hogwarts. Harry is again faced with a problem. This one, though, proves more serious and ultimately fatal. He has to complete three tasks that lead him on the adventure of a lifetime- an adventure that he will never forget. If you're looking for a page turner, you've come to the right book. I found it hard to put this book down. I wanted to know what was going to happen next. When I reached the end, I wanted more Harry Potter, and I eagerly await the fifth one.

Summary: Oustanding.
Review: I am a 30-year-old, married, non-fantasy-reading attorney, who was conned into reading the Sorcerer's Stone and have not looked back. I received the Goblet of Fire on Friday afternoon, drove to the beach for the weekend to visit some friends, and was finished by Monday evening. Needless to say, I wasn't very sociable. Now Harry Potter starved, I began rereading the Sorcerer's Stone last night. I dread the day the seventh book has come and gone.

Parents, please get these books for your children, or read these books with them. It warms my heart to see kids this excited over reading in an internet, tv, and Playstation driven world.
