Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: I really did like it... Review: I really did enjoy this book, and I would give it 5 stars when compared to any other books, but compared to the first three books in this series, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, just didn't earn it. I think that the 734 pages were not totally necessary, though I didn't mind. Then, I think that there were quite a few places where she was repetitive (not that it's a big deal). Ms. Rowling's writing is certainly not the best I have ever seen, but her story-telling is fantastic. This story is a little too dark for younger kid though. Of course, I am definately going to get the 5th book when it comes out, but my expectations are slightly lower. Oh, one more thing I would like to just touch on: The Movie. I am VERY dissapointed with Ms. Rowling. It's just not going to work, for a number of reasons. 1) Warner Bros. I just don't think they can pull off a movie as good as the book and I'm sure they won't stick to the plot. 2) They hired the guy who did Mrs. Doubtfire and Home Alone to do this. His movies are just not serious enough. They are what some might call "cute", which is not what we want for Harry Potter. 3) The Cast! Rosie O'Donnel as Mrs. Weasly? It makes me sick. Dame Maggie Smith would be good for Prof. MacGonagall, but she is too old (at least in my mind). Oh well!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Good book, but spoiled author Review: This was a great book. I recomend it for any who has read the first three harry potters. However it seems that J.K. Rowling is getting a little spoiled. In the first three harry potters it showed harry doing something. On the forth on however it looks like a poster and as though harry is posing. Although she has written four fabolous books I think J.K. Rowling should not let it get to her head.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great for adult muggles, too! Review: I am 42 years old and can honestly say that I am a huge fan of Ms Rowling's work. With every installment, her characters take on more life and her plot twists become more, well, twisted! The mysteries she weaves are worthy of even the most sophisticated reader, yet accessible to all. She has an amazing gift of being able to not talk down to children, not talk beneath an adult, yet keep both extremes enraptured throughout. Where is number 5 ?
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: OK Book Review: First of all, let me start with telling you why I rated this book with 1 star. In my opinion, it really deserved about 6 out of 5 stars. If I had rated it with 5 stars, you'd probably just have passed it up like all the other 5 star ratings, right? Anyway, this was an awesome book! The only thing that I can find to complain about was that it should have been about 2,000 pages because now I have to wait the whole time for the 5th book to come out! I read this book in about 1 week, all 734 pages of it! For a busy 13 year old to do that, it must have a been a book worth while, that's how I see it! This book isn't very realistic, maybe that's why I loved it so much. It creates a world where anything is possible while meanwhile, none of it is true in our world! JK Rowling is a writer like no other. I have no clue how she does what she does, but I'm glad she does because I have never read books that I liked as much as all 4 Harry Potter books. Many authors either make their writings very realistic and boring or very unrealistic and completely stupid. Well JK Rowling has written 4 fantastic books that are pretty unrealistic, but instead of being stupid they are completely interesting and very enjoyable to read. So, I think this is one of the 4 best books I have ever read, the others including the 3 other books in the series so far. But may I suggest that if you decide to read the 4th book, which you really should, then to read all the other books first because it will be much more enjoyable and exciting to read! That's all I have to say and I hope I helped you to make the decision on whether or not you should read this book!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Harry Potter Gee Wizz Review: This book has got a lot darker and it makes you be on the edge of your seat all the time. My favourite is the Prisoner of Azkaban but I can't wait for the rest. I have met her at a book signing and it suprised me to see how normal and cool she was. I want to write to her but I don't really know her address?
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Far From Classic...For Hyperactive Kids Only Review: I had to review the first two Potter books and now this one for a local newspaper, and found the task to be a chore. Like the first two books, this installment reveals that J.K. Rowling still substitutes rampant, overstuffed imagination for clever writing and plot construction. There is no secret behind this book's success with young kids: it reads like a frantic, gluttonously effects-laden video game in its detail. EVERYTHING is busy or magical: every ball, doorknob, picture, spoon, broom, bowl,...EVERYTHING. The magic is so overdone that it becomes hyperactive at best... mundane and trivial at worst. This book, like its predecessors, is far from wondrous or mysterious. It finds a place in a culture where "overload" has become synonymous with "quality." Further, Rowling's so-called "brilliant imagination" often comes across as little more than good old-fashioned, amateurish self-indulgence. It boils my blood to hear this fluff compared to Tolkien's work. Sadly, with the Potter series, even books have become nothing more than sensational toys. DOES IT HAVE A GOOD POINT? You bet! Kids are reading, at least, and in record numbers. That alone makes Harry & the Goblet of Fire a great idea for children everywhere. Hopefully it will lead them to read better works by far better writers. However, the number of ADULTS who are drawn to the Potter books is utterly stupefying. It shows how low the bar has fallen in adult literacy (and spiritual desperation!) when adults start claiming that this series has "changed their lives." To adults who say that, I would say "You need to get a life before you can change it." Don't get me wrong: this book is fine for kids 9-15. Anyone younger would probably not understand it. And any adult who sits around pining for the release of the next installment should be really, really embarrassed.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: the best book of the series Review: All the harry potter books have beaan, good, even great, but i definitly enjoyed this one the best. I usually finish the harry potter books within a day but this one hundreds more pages to love. I love when the characters actually perform the magic and this book was full of that. The Triwizard competition also gives you a thrilling rush. apparently competition is very fun to read. And if your a Quidditch fan like me the first hundred pages or so gives you lots, but the rest of the book is not so full but in my opinion, i like the triwizard competition even better. well that's it.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4) Review: At first I was a bit intimidated by the length of the book. I wondered what child (let alone adult) would read such a lengthy novel. Once I began reading the book I found I could not put it down. I thought Harry's first interest in the opposite sex was quite tactfully done (even Hermione's "Oh really!")Ron's not even being aware of Hermione as a female was wonderful and so true to life. I am now reading it with my 12 year old and enjoying it even more the second time through. He is picking up so many of the subtle humor points as he visualizes what is happening. I am concerned with too young of a child trying to read this book with its resurgence of "evil" and the deaths that ultimately follow it. This may be very frightening for too young a child who has difficulty differentiating between fact and fancy. I can't wait until book 5 is done.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: GREAT BOOK Review: I'll keep this short. This is the best Harry Potter book yet. Buy it as soon as possible. To all those who don't like this book and criticize it I say this: you have no taste in books and unless you are a famous author you have no right to criticize this excilent book. (sorry for spelling errors, I myself am no great writer)
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Really Great Book! Review: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has everything you'd expect from a great book! It's really much of a mixed bag of suspense, mystery, adventure, fantasy, excitement, and all kinds of stuff. It's really great coz the story has endless possibilities for plots, you never know what'd happen to Harry Potter unless you read on, but when your done, it just barely begun...
