Summary: Yet another awesome bok
Review: At the beginning not so good. But then it gets really good with the Triwizard tournament and all the other schools coming to Hogwarts, it is really i think here best book yet. At fist it was very borng but then as soon as Harry goes to tHogwarts it is announced that there will be a tournament . The best part of the book is atr the end when everything comes together... One thing that is for sure is that J.K. Rowling left open enough plots to write her next three books. Like Cho Chang is a big plot left open... All in all it is the best and the thickest book yet......

Summary: Fantastic!
Review: This book was the best book I have ever read! Everyone must read it. Its fun for all ages, and exciting. I have read the other three, and this is by far the best.

Summary: Harry Potter--The Goblet of Fire
Review: As was expected, this book is beyond excellent. It is not only extremely well written but it is also another great addition to the oddessey and adventure of Harry Potter. If only Mark Twain had continued the oddessey of Huckleberry Finn could this book been comparable to anything else in literature, but since he did not, no comparison is available. Never before has there been such an enchanting, absorbing, and literate story of an amazing protaganist/hero, that has been so fun and exciting to read about. Even as I was an English Major in college, I have never before experienced such an amazingly, detailed, interesting and well developed character in fiction. I highly applaud J.K.Rowling and all her incredible gifts of imagination.

Summary: Bring on Chapter Five
Review: I have just finished one of the most entertaining books I have read in ages.

I must confess to being a new convert previously wondering what the fuss was all about. While patiently waiting for my local booksellers to restock I bought and thoroughly enjoyed the first three books.

Joanne Rowling has lucidly succeeeded in bringing to life characters whose emotions & experiences of boarding school life are so vividly drawn as to remind me of my own very Muggles one, sadly without all the magic!

The story is full of surprises and I was thoroughly disappointed to get to the last page. Anyone with a sense of adventure from age eight to eighty ( I confess to being firmly in the middle) will enjoy this ripping yarn.

Bravo!

PS/ I noticed one blooper (howler) though.

Towards the end of The Dream a missing character under discussion (Crouch) is attributed with a line of conversation - Pg 503, Bloomsbury edition.

Apologies if this has been mentioned already as I have not read all the reviews.

Summary: Give me more Cho!
Review: Whew...What a book! I started the book at 9:00 p.m. two daysago and didn't stop till 5:00 a.m. I swear, I would've finished the734 paged behemoth in one sitting if my parents hadn't made me go to sleep. What separates the Harry Potter books from other books, is the incredible depth of the main characters, vivid writing, and of course, the plot and the sense of a real-life, living, breathing world. After reading the four Harry Potter books, I've grown a bond to the characters. The writing is incredible. There are an incredible amount of detail in what is happening around Harry, making even the most boring scenes throughly-enjoyable. Now for the plot. A Tri-wizard Tournament is being held at Hogwarts, and the the three representatives from each of the three different schools will partake in three different tasks. I won't get into details, but it's a nice alternative to Quidditch. Anyways, no one under 17 is allowed in the tournament. People who want to enter the tournament enter their names into the Goblet of Fire. Days later, when all the people that have wanted to enter have entered, the goblet spits out the names that it has chosen to be worthy of entering the Tournament. One-by-one, the goblet spews out the names that it has chosen. Cedric Diggory's name spews out from the goblet, representing Hogwarts, and people are cheering and stuff when, another name flys out of the goblet. The weird thing is, all three people had already been chosen by the goblet. So everybody stares at the fourth parchment, and Dumbledore picks it up, and reads the name. Harry Potter. Hehe, I haven't described it very well, and you're probably scratching your head going, 'huh?'. Oh well. But, d@mn...that scene was awesome. One of the other real memorable scene is right before Harry is about to face the first task. I've rarely felt like that reading a book. My heart was thumping faster than ever, adrenaline was rushing through me...The suspense and anticipation of what was coming was killin' me...This is evidence of Rowling's exceptional writing skill. Is it just me, or did anybody else feel like that reading that scene... I'm looking over wut I wrote and it's all a bunch of rubbish. Oh well. I've got a lot more I want to say, but I'm kinda busy right now, so I'll end real quick. Oh, yeah, one more thing. I'm in the adolescence (did I spell that right?) stage and all, and I want more details and stuff on Harry's crush on Cho. I wish Cho had bigger involvement in the story. More details on Cho would have been nice. I just wish that there were more crushes, boyfriend/girlfriend type of thing in the story. I mean, in the story I doubt there were more than 3 pages involving thoughts and stuff from Harry's hormones. It seems as if Rowling added the Cho/ball/hormone thing as an afterthought.

Summary: Try The Books of Magic
Review: The fourth Harry Potter book was every bit as good as the first three, and definitely left me wanting more... Other fans of the series who feel that they will starve until next summer or whenever the next book is released, should absolutely try out the Vertigo comic book series The Books of Magic, created by Neil Gaiman, the world-famous writer of the Sandman. This magnificent series tells the story of Tim Hunter, a British boy who learns that he is destined to become the world's greatest magician. There are some 6 books so far; the first one, written by Gaiman, is available from Amazon, as are some of the excellent following books, written by John Ney Rieber. The series should appeal to adult and child fans of Harry Potter alike.

Summary: Goblet of Fire
Review: A year ago my 8 year old son asked for the first book and I had to ask " Who is Harry Potter? " needless to say we purchase the first book in Hard cover and it didn't get opened until this 4th of July just before the 4th book came out. With all the excitement surrounding book 4 I decided to read The Sorcere's Stone to see for myself what was making these kids go crazy over a book. Once I got through the first few chapters that set the stage for what was to come I ordered the next 3 books all in hard cover for my personal Library. Needless to say 4 books and 2 weeks later I can now see what the kids see in these incredible books. Both my 9 year old son and I can go over the chapters and tell each what our favorite parts were. Too see the sparkle in his eyes when we discuss Harry's adventures is only the greatest feeling knowing that he has finlly seen the joy in reading. Thank You J.K. Rowling for bringing the wonder of reading to all these children.

Summary: Media overhype
Review: These books are mediocre at best, but have been put on a pedestal by the media and the populace in general. There are sooo many other better written young adult novels out there that it's not even funny! J.K. Rowling should be writing some royalty checks to the media, because they are selling her books for her. I think it's great that it's getting kids reading, but try reading something else. This is getting as bad as Pokemon, and that is NOT a good thing. Mediocre writing, mediocre stories.

Summary: The Best Yet
Review: When I got this book I was a little intimidated by its thickness. Don't be. I'm not going to ruin it by telling you all about it but I will tell you this. This Harry Potter book is the best yet! It is so worth waiting all that time for. Be sure to get it.

Summary: GET A LIFE!
Review: When I was listening to all of the STUPID advertisements for this book, I was thinking that the book would be better than the other three, mainly because in longer books the plot is normally more interesting. Well- this book was surprising, but it wasn't because it was the best, it's because it was the worst. The plot slows almost to a stop in the middle, and it's hard to get back on track. This series is origional, but personally I have to agree with my mother, that the only reason the series is so popular is because there's nothing out there. No other books are written for this age group, so when somebody finally does write one, everyone says they love it, they couldn't put it down, whatever. Would you like to know why they couldn't put it down? Because if they did they would never pick it up again. Would you like to know why they say they love it? Because if they hated it then they would have nothing to do during those few days after it comes out when everyone is still trying to force their way through it. Don't get me wrong, I have read all of the books, but only because Barnes and Noble was out of the Mercedes Lackey books. I read this 700 odd page book in a few hours- I also knew that if I didn't read it then I would hurt my mother's feelings when she went out and bought it for me. I would like everyone out there to know that there are some books for teens out there, and they don't have to be stuck reading this dribble. Head for the books by Mercedes Lackey, or Anne McCaffrey- all of their books are better, even though none of them have been the subject of radio commercials (or maybe it's because of that...) Well- I can't tell you what to read- I can only tell you that there are better things to do with your life than read this junk.
