Summary: Its good like all the others...but the 3rd is still my fav
Review: Like i said above it was entertaining and funny but it wasnt as exciting as some of the others. It was mostly building up to the end. a lot of what happen didnt seem to have much meaning till the end when the "faithful death eater" spills his guts. so if u liked the other potter books u have to read this one to keep up with them. and i think rowling couldve cut it short, there was too much fluff in my opinion. but its good so read it if your a potter fan.

Summary: WAY past exciting and breathtaking!
Review: When I heard the new Harry Potter book was coming out, I figured it would be the same as the others-exciting, faboulously written, and very detailed. I figured it would be the 300 or so pages as the others. I was completely WRONG! This 734 paged book is WAY past exciting and breathtaking! I have never sat in front of a book like this. At one part, i was actually shaking, crying, and urging myself to go on to find out what happens next. At first I didn't want to read the book, because it looked so long and monotonous. Then I remembered "Duh, it's a Harry Potter book, and no Harry Potter book yet, has been in the least bit boring or monotonous, even if it DOES look like a dictionary!" So I picked up the book and went for the ride of my life! I definatly recommend this book to anyone who is brave to stand up to a book like this! THANKS J. K. ROWLING!

Summary: prime entertainment for adults and kids alike
Review: I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit that I find these books so engrossing. As an adult and a muggle myself, I haven't found myself so lost in a book since The Lord of the Rings. I even read the book in Scotland, right in Edinborough where J.K. wrote the book. I kept it near me in case I ran into her on the street, but alas, I was disappointed. Don't be scared off by the book's length -- the plot is fantastic and moves quickly along. I loved the whole idea of the tri-wizard tournement. After all, if Hogwarts is the English model, there must be other wizarding schools from other parts of the world, right? Will we meet New Zealand, Indonesian and South African wizards in the upcoming books? The action is engrossing as always -- there's even a potential love interest. The new characters are great (old mad-eye moody). We don't see much of Draco Malfoy, but I have the feeling he'll be back. Dumbledore is my favorite -- he brings back memories of Gandolf from The lord of the Rings. This is a fantastic read that all devoted fans will enjoy.

Summary: As Mind-Binding as the Rest!
Review: What do I think? Better than the rest! Has your breath held, mysteries YOU can solve, situations worse than ever, interesting characters, and WORTH READING! Very scary (past the Third Task), very boggling and sweet! Like candy for your mind! One you'll want to read again!

Summary: Excellent!
Review: I love all the Harry Potter books (in fact, they are my favorite books), and this one is the best so far. It is funny, scary, and sad. You won't be able to put it down (i should know, I finished it after reading for 9 hours straight until 2 in the morning). It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it. J.K. Rowling really brought out the characters in this book- the old (Harry, Ron, Hermione, their school friends) and the new (Rita Skeeter and Viktor Krum, to name a couple). There is a death, and this would make it scary for little kids (I almost cried, but then was jumping up as the next event took place). Well, I'd give away the plot if I talked any longer, so I have one more thing to say- BUY THIS BOOK! (and read it- again and again and again....I've read it twice so far.)

Summary: Worth all the wait (and hype)
Review: I thought pre-publicity this thick was reserved for rock bands and Star Wars movies. But for the first time, stores opened at 12:01 and people lined up for...a book.

More to the point, a CHILDREN's book.

But then again, I shouldn't be surprised about that, this series has broken the rules all along:

-At the time I write this review, there are already 2410 of them on this website,

-It is so successful that the other publishing companies have successfully forced the New York Times to create a separate children's bestseller list, so the "real" books will have a shot at the number one spot. (In three years, that list will feature all seven Harry books, and they'll just pick three others to fill in spots 8,9 and 10.)

So while my family waited to go out on July 8, my silence and immovability made clear that we were waiting for my friendly local fedex man to deliver my copy from a certain online bookseller whose name shall go unsaid (but just look at the top of your screen). It arrived, and three days and change later (with forced but tasteful breaks for work, food, and personal hygiene, not neccessarily in that order) I had torn through all 734 pages.

With each book I become more amazed with Jo Rowling's writing ability. The most throwaway details in earlier books reapparate later to become important plot points. I find myself wondering if she had it planned all along, or does she simply scour the books for something to use?

The characters are growing and changing. The opposite genders makes themselves known to our heroes. The world is opened up a bit-we learn there are OTHER schools of magic. Secrets of Hagrid's past are revealed. Dumbledore is once again shown to be a powerful force to be reckoned with, and much like the author herself, I look at Albus and ask "How much of what going to happen does he already have planned? Exactly how much is he controlling and helping what's happening in his world?"

There's humor, there's adventure, and there's not a single moment that I was reading this wondering when something was going to happen. It's going to be a long year waiting for the next one. Judging from the ending of this one, it looks like book five is going to be quite serious indeed-no less than preparation for war.

I think before the series is over (and almost certainly after) we'll start seeing short story collections by Jo and possibly other authors, illuminating all the details and throwaway bits of the series that ravenous fans would love to hear more about. For example...exactly how does Mr. Ollivander get his unicorn hairs and phoenix feathers? I can't imagine all of them are supplied willingly.

J.K. Rowling is making millions of dollars off the series, you can't open a magazine without seeing a mention of her, and I couldn't be happier for her.

-Vinnie Griffyndor by example, Slytherin by nature

Summary: The Best Book of the Series
Review: The minute that I heard that the 4th book of Harry Potter was out, I ran to the book store and bought it. It is DEFINITALY the best book of the series so far. It only took me about a week to read it because it kept me on the edge of my seat. Like the rest of books, it is focused on good vs. evil. But instead of J.K. Rowling starting out the book with Harry, it takes an exciting twist at the Riddle House, and then goes to the Quidditch World Cup. I reccomend this book for 10 year olds and up. This is a great book! Buy it and read it!

Summary: A Mood Changer
Review: Every time I was down I picked up this book and it changed my mood and made me happy and creative. I liked the detail and suspence and how harry learns more magic. I would like to tell you what I liked about the book best but that would give the end of it away. Read this book and you can read any book. Once you read 700 pages you can read any book.

Summary: Surprised by bad language!
Review: We have read all the Harry Potter books and always enjoy the creative story lines and magical beings, but book #4 really disappointed us with the language. The use of "damn" has occured several times, spoken by adults and the main characters which are kids! It's really totally unnecessary and could easily have been avoided. It's so prevalent that we read the book with a pen beside us to cross out the curses and substitute our own words. This is a book for children and shouldn't be teaching them how to swear. Swearing isn't necessary and detracts from the other-worldly scenario of the whole story.

Summary: HARRY POTTER RULES
Review: I am sixteen years old and I am an avid reader. I got hooked on Harry last summer when I ran out books to read and my neighbor lent me her copies of the book. I was so taken with the books that I stayed up until two in the morning to finish the first book and the next day I would do nothing until I had read the second book. I then immediately ordered the whole series including the third book from the UK. The fourth book is definitely JK Rowling's best work. It is vivd and captures the imagination of the readers. Many people complain about the length of the book but that is the best part of the book. The book is so long that you learn so much about the characters that it is understood why Neville is so afraid. The charcters become real and you can see their personalities more than in any other book. Some people complain that the writing is mediocre but honestly who cares. The book is no Ulysses but no one was ever claiming it was. The book is so charming because of that reason. The book is pure fun and it is a relief to read after many deep and moralistic novels. Any criticism that comes from reading this book is from people who over-analyzed this book. To fully enjoy the Harry Potter series do not analyze the books at all, just be content with them the way they are.
