Rating: Summary: More magical fun for loyal Harry buffs Review: OK, fine. Maybe because I'm 14 means that reading children's books isn't socially acceptable. Well, tough. As a loyal Harry reader, I was a tad worried that maybe this bookwouldn't live up to the standards of the past 3.WRONG! In Book 4, the excitement never stops as JK Rowling goes for an even twistier plot than "Prisoner of Azkaban". Harry is chosen to participate in a Triwizard Tournament with young socerers from Durmtrang and Beauxbatons, other magical schools. The tasks can be deadly, the competition fierce, and of course, being Harry Potter means that simply living is reason to be nervous...Nothing is quite what is seems when you reach the action packed conclusion, which, unlike past Harry books, leaves ends hanging for the next book in the series. Naturally, all your favorite characters are back:Ron, Hermione, the Weasely twins, Hagrid, Dumbledore(obviously), Snape, and, happily, Sirius Black...But there are plenty of new faces, like "Mad-Eye" Moody, the new Dark Arts teacher who gives new definition to the word paranoid. You won't believe how things turn out, so get reading!
Rating: Summary: THE BEST BOOK I EVER READ Review: J.K Rowling's books just keep getting better and better. I am not much of a reader, but I have been a Harry Potter fanatiic ever since my mother forced me to read the first 4 chapters of "Sorcerer's Stone". This fourth book definetely lives up to my expectations. I normally wouldn't touch a 752-page book, but the length of it is a good thing, because there is more suspense, and it seems like I learned more about the magical world in this book than in the last two combined. The book is also very funny at times, and I can relate to Harry. As for those of you who say the book is too simple or unoriginal, maybe you're right, but who cares! This is the reading equivalent of a smooth ride on a top-of-the-line Firebolt broom. I actually agree with what people said about the last few chapters, that it was choppy and confusing. However, the rest of the book more than makes up for that, and it is still a thrill. I recommend this to everybody. Period.
Rating: Summary: An epic like none other... Review: I just finished completing by far the best novel I've ever read. J.K. Rowling has simply outdone herself. Just two short weeks ago, I decided that I had to discover what this "Harry Potter" craze was all about. Bombarded from every direction (either by the media or friends telling me that the books "are amazing"), I just had to find out. After reading the first book, the Sorceror's Stone, I was a Potter fanatic. I quickly finished books 2 and 3 and got 4 about a week ago. Book 4 opens unlike any of the other books, which was a welcome treat. Book four, in a nutshell, is quite possibly destined to be a classic. It is comparable to any film, record, painting, photograph, you name it. It is a work of art. Rowling strands multiple plotlines and her own magical creations together to create a wonderful confection that could not simply be referred to as a "children's book" (actually that would be an insult). Yes, this book is filled with things that children will love--unforgettable characters, lots of magic, and a great story. However, adults will appreciate all of these things as well and will get an extra treat: they will also be able to appreciate the sly humor, the intense imagery, and the many allusions to history and pop culture that children may not understand. I recommend, that before you buy this book READ ALL OF THE OTHERS. Though you can theoretically just pick up book four and start reading (Rowling gives a wealth of backstory), you would really be doing yourself an injustice. There is so much that happened before this story; don't read the other three and you will miss out on the emotional jolts that this book gives numerous times. And another warning: don't read this book unless you are fully aware that you will be physically, mentally, and socially attached to it until you finish!
Rating: Summary: I was enthralled Review: Potter 4 comes on a wave of such publicity and media hype that one cannot help but be a little cynical about the series merits. I, having read the other 3, was hoping this to be as enchanting as the rest, and I was not dissapointed. Despite wieghing in at over 600 pages (It is too long), I was constantly enthralled throughout the story. Although rowling is not an incredibly gifted writer, she is a very good storyteller. An excellent book.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter is the REAL thing! Review: I am a book worm and the hype surrounding the Goblet of Fire release was getting to me. I thought of this question, "Why is everyone crazy about this book, both children and ADULTS, if this is a children's book?" I decided to borrow a paperback copy of The Sorcerer's Stone from a friend and sure enough, I got so hooked in the book that I finished it so quickly and was craving for more so I ordered all four books on Amazon. I have read the first three books so far and am beginning to read the Goblet of Fire and I am very sure that it will not disappoint me. I am an adult and I can fully understand the hype behind Harry Potter and surely will be a part of the hype that will surround the fifth book in the series. J.K. Rowling, keep up the good work, your imagination spurs mine, and I look forward to the next book! It will be a challenge on my patience threshold as I await the fifth book in the HARRY POTTER series!

Rating: Summary: Harry Potter Catches the Snitch Review: In a spectacular blend of fantasy and humor, JKR has done it yet again. Harry Potter appeals to all ages alike. His courage and his friends make way for a grand adventure. The most striking part of Harry Potter is JKR's ability to talk about very adult themes, such as death, in a children's book. Harry Potter is much more than a children's book though. Never before have words come alive off the page and danced like a movie. Never has the enjoyment level been so high on a second reading. Never has any novel come close to the power and fun of Harry Potter.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book Review: As many of the other readers, I am not the typical 9yr old child reading this book. I am eighteen, but I still enjoyed this book as well as the others. It has plot twists that most major writers today don't put in their books. With great characters and an excellent plot, this will keep you turning pages till you are done.
