Rating: Summary: who said a sequal cant be as great as the original. Review: I found this book to be very entertaining. The way the words jump off the pages. I truly enjoy reading an author who can paint the whole picture for you. I felt like I was right in the middle of things. I even believe I found myself holding my breath in anticipation. If you get a chance may I suggest reading this 4th book as a refresher for anyone about to read the the 5th book in the series.
Rating: Summary: The best one yet... Review: I just re-read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire about a month ago in anticipation for the fifth book (that is now less than two weeks away), and I was reminded of the reasons why the fourth book is my favorite so far in the series. In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry returns for his fourth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There are the same friends, the same enemies, a crush (drama!), plus students and teachers from two other wizarding schools. Everyone's at Hogwarts for the return of the Triwizard Tounament - which is the cause for much more of the danger and excitement in Harry, Ron, and Hermione's fourth year. On the inside flap of the hardcover edition, the book is called the pivotal fourth novel, and for good reason. "Goblet of Fire" adds another long-term obstacle (I know that that's too weak of a word) to the already-developed plotline of Harry and friends' quest to get through their seven years of school. Almost more than it does anything else, this novel builds anticipation, for now readers have the tiniest glimpse of what lies ahead in years five, six, and seven. For this reader, it seems like seven books will never be enough. The plot of Harry Potter 4 is definately darker than the first three, and this may be part of the reason I thought it was better. J.K. Rowling's plots have always been as good for adults as they are for children, but the new aspects in this installment made the book filled with more emotion, and a few more themes that older audiences might identify with more than the young. If there's anyone out there left who hasn't read this book, don't be intimidated by the size. In this case, more pages just means more fun. Anyway, I have friends (myself included) that were finished on the day that we got it. Don't make any excuses to yourself if you've read the first three but are holding off on this one. Read this book. If there's anyone out there (and I really hope that there isn't) who are thinking about skipping the first three and starting with this one, break the habit of starting series in the middle and go read "Sorceror's Stone." It's a terrible habit and I don't know why people do that, but I'm saying it just in case. If you haven't read it yet, enjoy. If you have, go ahead and read it again. For me, at least, it was just as good the second time.

Rating: Summary: The Most Heroic book yet Review: I hate to admit it but i actually cried in this book. I cant tell you why (you'll have to read it yourself). Lets just say when youre reading you feel like youre right there getting to know the charactors. When something bad happens its like its happening to youre best friend. The only bad thing about this book is we have to wait 2 more years to see it in theatres.I highly recomend you read this book weather you buy it or rent it from the library. But one things for sure youll want to buy it after you read it. In this book lots of things happen you wouldnt expect. It keeps you guessing till the very end. And an evan bigger surprise at the end. You meet Buckbeeck and sirius again + some knew charactors. Then theres the yule ball an exciting part. Pleez read this book you'll be greatfull.

The characters were so real and the auther desribed it so well that it felt like it was in your own room. I really liked this book and recomend it to ages 7 and up.
Rating: Summary: My Thoughts for Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire Review: The Series of Harry Potter books were wonderful and I can't wait to read the fifth one. In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Harry can't wait to start the school year. As the year begins Harry doesn't know that his fifth year will be no regular year. Harry finds that the triwizard tournament will take place at Howgwarts with two different wizarding schools. He also learns that one must be a certain age to enter and only one is selected out of the goblet of fire from each of the three schools. The new dark arts teacher Mad Eye moody. The night of the feast where the goblet of fire was to decide who were the school champions to participate in the tournament, Harry's name was put into the goblet by mad eye moody. Not the real mad eyed moody! This person has the real mad eyed moody in a cabinet locked. Harry, after going through some of the most changing mazes gets to the end of the last maze and ends up face to face with Cedric Diggory the second Howgwarts champion. Cedric should have been the only champion from Howgwarts so Harry let Cedric win, but Cedric insisted that they both touch the trophy together in order for both of them to win. The trophy turned out to be a port key, which transported them to a graveyard where Harry's archenemy Lord Voldemort was. Lord Voldemort had risen from being weak after the attack on Harry thirteen years ago to being strong as ever. He killed Cedric and fought Harry. When Harry won the strength of his wand beat Lord Voldemorts wand and the wand fell to the ground. As the wand fell it released all the souls of the people that were killed by it. Harry saw the souls of his parents whom they said that they were very proud of their son. The last soul that was released was Cedric's and he said tell my parents I love them and take my body to them.
Rating: Summary: Pure fun, and a delight that can be reread again and again. Review: The great strength of Rowling's works is her conscious effort to never let the messages in her stories overshadow their readability and sense of fun. All books should first and foremost tell the story, and Rowling never forgets that. That said, her latest installment, The Goblet of Fire, takes us back to Hogwarts for another year of magic, danger and intrigue. This book is the pivotal part of Harry's seven year tale, and ends on a note that many readers may find unsatisfactory, as the issue of accountability and leadership in the Ministry of Magic comes to light. Goblet of Fire reads on many levels; younger children will delight in the fast and inventive pace of the plot and storytelling, and older readers will find themselves waiting to see how the issue of Voldemort's true return and the Ministry of Magic's reaction are resolved or expanded in book five.
Rating: Summary: A great mystery, but unsuitable for it's average audience Review: Despite the crazy publicity, I have to say that the HP books created an amazing world and are well written. The fourth book is an amazing mystery novel, very surprising, and almost should be classified as a mystery rather than a fanstasy-non fiction book. I love the plot and style of these books, but the HP publicity is tuned towards young kids and they are they ones who are reading them. Each book gets draker and darker, and HP and the Goblet of Fire is the darkest of all. The book centers on death and pain. With dementors and the scary ceremony with Voldemort, the book isn't suitable for the audience it is recieving. The Harry Potter books shouldn't lose the style Rowling has given to them, but parents, etc. should be warned of the dark content before deciding if it is suitable for their kids.
Rating: Summary: Good, not great Review: I'm just rereading the first four books to remind myself where Harry, Ron, and Hermione were when I last left them, in anticipation of the next book coming out.... I won't add anything to the other reviews except to wonder why 4th year wizards/witches can't do something so simple as fix Ron's dress gown when Hermione has fixed nearly everything else, including Rita Skeeter (a very distracting minor character whom I hope doesn't show up anymore). The ending explanation, given under a truth serum, is too pat to tie in with the wonderful detail in the rest of the novel. In all three of the previous novels, as well. A fine story and worth the time, but not up to the level of the first three. I wonder what number five will bring. . .
Rating: Summary: This is the best one yet. Review: J.K. Rowlings hasnt ran out of ideas yet. The fourth installment of this seven book series is the best one yet. It showes just how important friends are during rough time. This one is just as adventerous and fun as the first three. with new friends and new foes. I would reccomend it to anyone and everyone of all ages. Cant wait...#5 is going to be sick.
