Summary: Can't wait till the fourth book!
Review: I started reading the Harry Potter books in middle of October. I thought the book was for little kids(I'm 15 years old).I like these books tremendously. I thought that the fourth book was the best. It had the best plot and it was darker than the other books. It was the book with the most killing and suffering. It was also funniest book so far. In the rest of the books, I hope that there will be more YULE BALL (or any other balls). So I can see what happens Harry, Ron, Hermonie, Cho, and Ginny's relationships. [...] I wonder why did J.K. Rowling pick him to be killed. I like the character a lot. Now the story has a twist to it. When I finished the book, I had so many unanswered questions. I am wondering the same thing the whole world is wondering. When the fifth coming out?

Summary: Go out and get this book!
Review: What a wonderful writer! I enjoyed the last 3, but this one takes the cake! A great read for anyone of any age. Ms Rowling can capture anyone's mind! Good ole Harry is coming of age with his friends Ron and Hermione! Don't wait - read it now, but read the first 3 before getting this one! Can't wait until the next one comes out

Summary: Harry Potter - the saga begins
Review: This book is definitively _much_ darker than parts I-III; and much of the childish charm is missing too. On the other hand, it is very open-ended and seems to be the beginning of what could be a most engrossing fantasy series.

Summary: Awesome, and nothing less
Review: WOW! Well if you are reading this review it means you are thinking of buying Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, word's of advise, STOP THINKING and BUY IT! I have never read a book that captivated me as much as this! Im 20, and i love the whole series, i have gotten the whole family and some friends in on the Harry Potter Act, they all agree, it AWESOME! The only problem i have is that i always read it too fast leaving me with way too much time to wait for the new book, i cant wait another year for it, and another matter, why does the series end after 7 books, surly Harry is going to get married fight some more demons, how about is Miss Rowling? I really cant wait to have my own kids so i can start from the start and read to them these magical novels that takes you to another time and place, a place we would all like to be! P.S. i wanted to give it more than the normal 5 stars!

Summary: A magic book
Review: The enormous success that this book has enjoyed has its reasons. The writing style is so smart and the story is so well put together that one can hardly stop reading. Adults and children alike will find so much fun that they will not want to reach the last page -- yet they will not be able to resist.

Summary: Death Eaters be done with!
Review: Let me just first say this book was as excellent as it's older brothers/sisters. Simultaneously laying a new plot, while refreshing my previous memories of Harry and the Gang. The author did a fantastic job of tying it all in nicely and keeping me interested from front to back. So interested I can't wait for the next one, so I am going to reread them all over again. Sincerely waiting with baited breath. thanks

Summary: A book that lived up to its hype
Review: As just another Harryhead out there, I looked forward to this book just as much as everyone else. The book, THE book, was worth the hype. All 734 pages mesmerized me and took me on a roller coaster ride full of... what can I say?... MAGIC. Just like the previous Harry Potters. But Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire seems to branch out from the style of the other three Harry Potters. First of all, it's an amazingly thick book, especially for a children's book. And our villain, Lord Voldemort, who - you must admit - wasn't exactly the best antagonist one's ever seen, is a lot more evil, a lot scarier in this book. The sprinkle of romance in the Harry Potter books at first seemed like a betrayal to the original concept of Harry Potter, but after some thinking, I had to admit it was more realistic that way - Harry is, after all, 14 years old now. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire also seems a bit darker in mood compared to the other books. I must agree on one thing: J.K. Rowling gets better every time.

The story (I was careful not to give away MUCH): Harry Potter, now 14, enters his fourth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry after an exciting summer including yet another visit to the Burrow (home of one of his best friend, Ron Weasley) and most importantly, the Quidditch World Cup! Fourth year at Hogwarts doesn't sound that impressive, but if you think about it, he's old enough to be a freshman! And, even though there were hints about it in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, romance suddenly jumps into the Harry Potter books. Harry returns to Hogwarts after an exciting yet dangerous vacation, and is faced with something even more exciting... and dangerous.

The Triwizard Tournament is a tournament involving three magical schools - Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang. A champion to represent each school is chosen via the Goblet of Fire. And what's the use of a Triwizard Tournament if our hero isn't involved? Harry is chosen to be the fourth champion - even when every other Triwizard Tournament has had three - even though Harry never "tried out" (this isn't the right word, as the choosing-of-the-champions procedures are slightly different) to be one. Three difficult tasks await Harry and the other champions... and it may be a bit more difficult for Harry...

Summary: A Must Read
Review: I can't believe how much I love this series. And JK Rowling did not disappoint me with this new book. As the series continues, the depth of Harry's world expands and becomes more complex. The only that disappoints me is that I won't know the next chapter in the saga until 2001!

Summary: NOT IN THE SAME LEAGUE AS TOLKIEN & LEWIS
Review: Rowling is frequently mentioned in the same breath as the fantasy greats J. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. This is unmerited, because the works of Tolkien and Lewis go far beyond the level of story - they impart great truths about human nature and theology on a deeper level. Rowling's novels do not have such a deeper level, but are simply books which entertain.

That is not to say that Rowling's novels are not good. They clearly are. The incredible sales record of the Harry Potter series tells its own story of success.

As a fantasy story-teller about the world of magic, Rowling is undeniably skilled. Many of Rowling's concepts are strongly reminiscent of the brilliant children's fantasy fiction by Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl, and she likely has been influenced by their work.

However, Rowling clearly has a style of her own, and in this fourth book of the Harry Potter series, has confirmed her reputation as a story-teller for children. This novel has all the ingredients of a good children's novel - suspense, imagination, and excitement.

Most importantly, children can identify with its characters. Although Rowling describes a fantasy world that exists only in her imagination and the reader's, it is clear that this fantasy world is largely a mirror image of our own 20th century Western world. What makes this series so successful, is that people recognize themselves in the novel - their school life (Hogwarts), their human rights ideology (Hermione's fight for the elves), their worship of team sports (the quiddich world cup) and individual sports (the tri-wizard contest), their political world (ministry of magic), their media (interviews with the Daily Prophet), their concern with health and beauty, their relationships between guys and girls, and their love of feasting and food (The Yule Ball).

Although Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is about a fantasy world, ultimately it is about ourselves. And that is why we love it. Highly recommended!
