Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great Goblets of Fire Review: The fourth book in the series is clearly Rowling's best and (whew!) longest book yet! Although I finished it within 11 hours, the book was no less intriguing nor ensnarling for me than any of the other Harry Potter fans scattered around (or should I say 'crammed into') the world. The book clearly includes a large number of real-life references, ranging from large-scale similarities such as political scandals and obstinate political figures to book titles in the Hogwarts library: Where There's a Wand, There's a Way; Men Who Love Dragons Too Much, and Powers You Never Knew You Had and What to do With Them Now That You've Wised Up. The new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher is my personal favorite so far. Not as ethical as Lupin, nor as bombastic and contrived as Lockhart, and different again from the deceitful and two-faced (quite literally) Quirrell, he follows the long line of DATDA teachers before him and lasts only a single year. (I wonder if the Daily Prophet simply assumes that it must run the job offer again each summer! ) Some delightful new characters include the prying, information inflating Rita Skeeter, the excitingly different-than-expected Bill and Charlie Weasley, and the annoying little owl that Ron received at the end of Harry Potter III, now named Pidwidgeon. Old fans will be delighted to discover that Percy Weasley, now working for the Ministry, hasn't changed a bit, and curious to see who the new Gryffindor Quidditch captain is, now that Wood has gone (have we got a surprise for you here! ). Some new, more adult aspects appear, as Harry, Ron and Hermoine must find dates for the Yule Ball and Ron becomes more sensitive about his family's financial situation and (just a bit) more jealous of Harry, and Hermoine lets less and less of Malfoy's harsh words bother her. Subtle strings of clues throughout the book entwine at the end, culminating in an entrancing cliffhanger for readers. Knowing Rowling, we'll have to wait quite a while to find out the rest of the story.

It is exciting, absorbing, and I could not put the book down! The dialogue is excellent, with all of the personalities developed very nicely. It is imaginative and fun, with plenty of enchantment left over for us to be yearning for Book 5. The end is a big cliffhanger- I simply cannot wait for the next book to come out so I can find out what happens!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Wonderful Review: I have read all of the Harry Potter books, and I must say they are brilliant. J.K. Rowling doesn't talk down to us just because we are young. She writes in the same spirit as C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien (all the best fantasy writers have intials for names). Many people believe that it is too serious too soon. The fact that there is death and other things makes it more real. I know in real life that isn't an evil wizard Voldemort, but life doesn't rap up in a neat little package. The book addresses issues like bigotry and other social differencs that adults think are either beyond our comprehension or that they are just scared of the subjects themselves. This book, despite the fact that it is thick, is very interesting. It holds its own even with the thinner books in the series. Just because it is thick doesn't mean it's boring. It is easy to read because of the images that are created in your mind. It fascinates us because it is a world within ours that we know nothing about and wish we could be apart of. I'm not saying that it makes one want to join the occult. It doesn't. It makes you want to read more fantasy (the greatest type of book there is). If someone does want to join the occult it is not the book's fault. It is that persons. One of the better qualities of the books is the fact that there are underlying messages. The first book says that love will always be with us, and the second says that our choices makes us who we are more than our abilities. The fourth says that it is not what we are born, but what we grow up to be. These messages are important to children of all ages, considering the fact that many adults have not learned those lessons themselves.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Excellent literature Review: An outstanding use of the English language to tell a story with depth of characture and plot, involving not only magic but suspence and mystery, with humor and incredible moral lessons for the young. I wish, when my children were younger, that this series of books had been around for me to read and reread to them for the moral values and real life issues that are all here for the taking. This writer has been criticized for what I consider to be the finest of her four books, The Goblet of Fire: Well Done!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Harry Potter Review: Hello! I think the Harry Potter books 1-4 so far, are fabulous! It amazes me how could J.K. Rowling can use her imagination! All the people that don't like her books and whine and complain about these books, must be stupid or something. I think J.K. Rowling has fabulous imagination, and my teacher read us 1-3 books of Harry Potter and my class and her LOVED them! I'm now reading book 4, and I can't wait to read some more! I'm very happy for J.K. Rowling and how these books have helped her life. Great work J.K. Rowling! Keep it up! :-) If you like Harry Potter, e-mail me at- kitty_88@catlover.com Thanks! - April
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: WOW! Review: This book ties for the best work of fiction I have ever read with Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. The Harry Potter books are wonderfully fanciful and (at times) genuinely scary. Ender's Game and Goblet of Fire share similar themes - they each show a child in new and strange surroundings, forced to do the impossible, and excelling in unbelievable ways. Also, they're both the kind of books that I can't help but read in one sitting (or try, anyway - at 734 pages, Goblet of Fire is a bit long for one sitting). The new characters are wonderful and impressive, and the book will keep you guessing till the very end. Can't wait for book 5!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Da' Bomb! Review: I would add more stars if I could.I want to say who ever is 10 years old and said J.K. Rowling dont know what she is doing, you are really pathetic, and probably looked in the theasaurus the whole time you were writing your book review and if there was a hogwarts you should be put in slytherins, and better yet at the school vernon dursley lies that harry goes to when Aunt marge asks where he goes! I think that anyone who disrespects J.K. Rowling, since these are her first books, is just plain ignorant and prejudice! These stories of a boy who learns he is a wizard, his parents were killed trying to save him from an evil wizard, lord voldmort, and still being alive through meeting death more than 3 times, that in which would be tremendously hard to explain! Yet, she still maintains the ability to keep MOST of her readers hearts at a fast pace and practically slipping off my seat as I read (atleast me! ).She tells harry's story in such a magnificant way, like a biographie that all harry's friends, family, and enemies (including himself) are putting a little bit of their own experience into. ....And if wizardry was ordinary and not abnormal etc. then all harry potter books would be an biographie, well, if he was an actual being and lived. Which I personally wish he was! I thank J.k. Rowling for giving me and tons of other people something to admire even in my young age I wish I could marry him or something! How does Harry and Lisa Potter sound? E-mail me at: Valauto@impulse.com (please direct the subject to "Lisa-hp")(e-mail me even if you just like hp and we can become e-mail pals! Girl and boy fans of harry potter welcome! )Cant wait to read mail from bunches of people! :)

Unlike book 3, this book does not drag, it picks up within the first 100 pages. This book is a must read for people of all ages. I think that this book helped me to relax and enjoy myself, it helped to put some sanity back into my head. I can't wait for the next book to come out.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A very pleased 12 year-old Review: I was pleased with all the "Harry Potter" books. Each one got better each time I read one. The fourth book however facinated me the most. The way J.K. Rowling thought of these descripitve stories are so good becasue of her imagination being so over- whelming. The chapters are great while adding new and keeping old characters. I hope the next books are even better than the ones already made so it can attract more readers. I wish I lived in wizardry world. The books are Great!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: It was great! Review: I'm 10 years old, and I loved it, but now I can't wait for the rest of the books! While I was waiting for this one to come out, I read The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles -- it's magical, too! I love all the creatures and cool inventions in Harry Potter, and even my aunt and parents liked reading it.
