Summary: The Best One Yet
Review: I found this book one of the most well-written children's books ever. I was spellbound by the fast-paced twists and turns of the plot. I have read all 4 books in the series and I think this one is my favorite, even though every one is quite remarkable. The 5th is sure to be a hit, I can't wait! Keep it up Ms. Rowling!

Summary: A must-read book for the year 2000
Review: Many of you have read the other 3 books. But this one is the one you want to be stuck on an island with. It IS this good. Harry is in his 4th year and his best one yet. Please, I am begging you to read this, but don't expect to put it down.

Summary: The BEST Book
Review: J.K. Rowling can really write can't she. This book really is great. It has more action and mystery then any of the other books. All 734 pages are great really great. If you like Harry Potter and you haven't read this book yet then shame on you! READ IT!

Summary: Mystery, Magic, and much, much more!
Review: She does it again! J.K. Rowling has created a fourth masterpiece of this Harry Potter world. As in the other three books you don't know who is doing the dangerous deed until the very last chapter. When I got the book in the mail (off of Amazon.com) my friends and I were amazed how thick the book was...don't judge a book by first sight! Personally I think it wasn't long enough. I finsihed it in three days!

Summary: Getting Better All The Time!
Review: This book was great! My older brother Ricky says "You got ripped off!" but since it is a great book, I think I got my moneys worth. I have all four books and I say that this one is the best one. I can't wait for book #5!

Summary: Better Than the First Three
Review: I am the same age as Harry. I don't know what to say about this book. It's the best book I ever read. Everybody should read it at least once. It's the longest and the best of all the Harry Potter books. The story is better, with lots of surprises to keep it interesting. This is not only a children's book, adults would also enjoy it. I know this review isn't very good, but please buy the book. You won't regret it.

Summary: Yea for the new Harry Potter book!
Review: This 4th book is wonderful! It has a lot of pages (700+), but it is worth every page, every chapter! There are new characters, new animals (Hagrid keeps the students hopping!), and there's still Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

If you love a good mystery, adventure, friendship novel then by all means rush out and buy this book :) You'll thank yourself later!

Summary: Complex and Intense
Review: I finished _Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire_ last night. Wow. I really do think that it is the best of the bunch, primarily because it tells a much more complex story that is still wrapped up in the end. The book is longer because there are more twists and major events than in the previous volumes. But Rowling brings all of the events together to a logical and complete conclusion. All questions are answered. And, as she stated in interviews as he goal, she has enabled Harry to make the transition from boyhood to adulthood. The next books are really going to be something.

I do wonder how kids (and parents) are responding to the text. It gets dramatic (and spoilers will follow here). It's always been intense because Harry has always been an orphan whose parents were murdered. But this one is much more intense. A fellow student dies. Evil becomes a much stronger and more recognizable force. I am reminded of the end of _The Empire Strikes Back_ because evil has risen and it appears that it will triumph. Sure, we know that the last book will end with Harry's triumph, but the series has taken a dark turn. No longer are Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle merely Harry's school rivals. They are the sons of death eaters. Most likely, they want Harry dead and they just might try to kill him in later books so that they will be seen as strong in their "Lord's" eyes.

I don't mean for my comments on the book's intensity to sound like a criticism in any way because I loved it. The book could be a great catalyst for discussion in junior high schools. But I'm not sure what would happen if it's read in kindergartens as the earlier books were. As a kid, this book would have scared me. Though as an adult, I love it.

The only, only, only thing I would have changed would have been for Harry to have said something to Neville at the end, not to let him know that Harry knows what happened to his parents. But he should have said goodbye or told Neville to send him an owl over the summer or just made some tiny bit of connection with him. This is certainly a minor point, and I'm sure Neville will take on a greater role in later books. I certainly look at hischaracter differently now.
