The highly anticipate book 4, from talented and wimsical J.K Rowling, actually manages to live up to the all the buzz. The 700+ page story centers around the Triwizard Tournement, an event that hasent taken place for years at the Hogwarts school of Witchcraft. As one may expect, Harry ends up as one of the Triwzards competing for the gold. The Triwzard tournament, which encorperates the usial goblens, monsters and deamons, makes for a highly enjoyable and interesting story.

The way the author keep you in suspense from page to page. The way she keep the story in high and intense action around each coner. Harry becoming more powerful, and at the same time wiser in the wizerding world around him. And his Quidditch skills just blow you away, and reading about the triwizard cup was really great... I really love this book and i recomend this book to anyone who hasnt read it.. peace out JESS!

No I don't have children, nor am I a child myself. But JK Rowling has certainly written a series that bring me back to my childhood, and the types of books I loved to read then. Goblet is the darkest yet in the series, and I suspect things will only get more intense from here on in. I am anxious to see where Book 5 goes from here.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Forgotten memories rediscovered Review: OK, so you've been holding out for a long time. 3 books have been published and you resisted - smugly - the urge to sneak out and buy one of these kids books. You looked with pity from behind your copy of Beowoulf at your fellow communters as they quickly turned the pages of the Potter legends. I too was one of the cynics. I felt I should be spending all my free time reading worthy, heavy books. But now I can say it. My name is Matt and I am a Harry Potter fan. After just only 4 or 5 pages, my hardened adult resistance was broken down. I began to become transformed by the rich text - if you are an adult, it really does take you back to all those amazing feelings you had as a child - Wonder, Fun, Curiousity, Warm affection. Read this book, rediscover some of the best parts of your past and tomorrow you'll live a better life...
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Another triumph for Ms. Rowling Review: Despite the apprehension endured by many surrounding the release of this, the eagerly awaited fourth book in the Harry Potter series. Rowlings ability to sustain the suberbly consistent nature of the series can not be questioned. I was not suprised to see that Rowling had, this time, surpassed herself. The Goblet of fire is charming, funny and intelligent. The Quidditch world cup and indeed the game of Quidditch itself is a stroke of genius, as is the school of Hogwarts. The real beauty of the book however lies in the ease with which the story flows, the humour of all the characters, most notably the Weasley twins (THANK GOD FOR FRED AND GEORGE!), the warmth of Dumbledore and Hagrid and the bravery of Harry, Ron, Hermione and even Neville all intertwine with a well crafted story to be enjoyed by both wizards and muggles. (sorry children and adults)
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: A Cold War remnant? Review: Don't get me wrong, I adore the Harry Potter series. The fourth book is as excellent as the other three. However I had an unpleasant aftertaste after finishing this one. I am disappointed that Ms.Rowling found it necessary to use all those ethnic stereotypes. I can even understand why Harry's crush has to be Asian - an Asian girlfriend would be the fashionable thing to have among Anime-loving boys these days. But why did Ms.Rowling have to have all the evil-worshipping bad guys to have Russian or other Slavic names? She didn't even bother to name them after evil characters of Slavic mythology (which, I assure you, is quite extensive, J.R.Tolkien knew and referred to it often). In Ms.Rowling book they are mostly popular Russian surnames. I found it offensive, and I was so much looking forward to this book... Am I imagining things after living for too long in the politically correct America, or are the Slavs being made into a public enemy yet again?
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Super for all ages! Review: In my opinion, this is the best Harry Potter book in the series. The endings in books 1 and 2 were kind of rushed. The ending in book 3 had Harry facing different kinds of challenges, and it was more creative, but it was kind of like a bridge to Goblet Of Fire. Goblet of Fire has a kind of ending you might be waiting for after reading the other books, but if you can guess all the details of how things play out, you should give yourself a lot of credit. Plus, you are really getting to the meat of the series. Your imagination is fed with additional interesting characters and creatures in book 4. Harry Potter And The Goblet of fire contains the funniest scene in the whole series, near the beginning. The darkest moments in book 4 are more graphic and tense than before, but much of the book is not that way. And you will be cheering for the good guys at two very satisfying moments at the conclusion of the book. Let's just say that people who deserve bad things happening to them get theirs. One thing that makes Rowling's books so good is how fantasy is mixed with reality. Characters have very human emotions and situations, even though they have magic powers. So therefore, it's still not a bland perfect world, but it's certainly more fun than ours. Rowling uses creatures and items found in other literature, but she melds them together in her own way. I advise reading the other three books first (the second is my least favorite, but it's still solid Harry Potter), and enjoy! There is some explanation, but the author does not go into enough detail to cover such a big and involved book. These books are not just for people who are not adults. The writing is not hard writing, but it may have to be explained for young kids. J.K. Rowling tells her story in a way that doesn't seem too immature for older readers. But it retains the kind of action-packed entertainment value that children like. There are a lot of glimpses of the adult world. Plus, anyone can use the escapism in Harry Potter books. Goblet of Fire has two good lessons in it: cooperation with others, and fighting discrimination. It's a great book!
