Summary: harry is my best pal
Review: I first read about Harry Potter in a review made by (I think) the Time Magazine wondering what the hype was all about. When I finished the article, I got even more interested about Harry and so I bought a paper back copy of the first book, thinking at the same time that that was a brilliant marketing strategy (spending I think 4 pages on the review). To my surprise, I was really taken aback by the eloquent storytelling that Ms. JK Rowling has introduced me into. I was hooked from page 1 of the first book to the last pages of the fourth. I had my 9 year old (at the time) daughter, Kathlene, read the book, and she, too, was enthralled by it, and so I shared books 2 and 3 with her, and we couldn't wait for book 4 to be published. When I bought book 4, my daughter and I alternately read it and shared the excitement of the adventures of our new pal, Harry Potter, taking precautions not to overread lest one of us would be left on a steep cliffhanger. But I couldn't help it, so I went and finished book 4 ahead of my daughter though I was a bit anxious that there will be no more Harry Potter magic left for the days ahead until next year in book 5. I could hardly wait. Again. My daughter, being a little bit more conservative, enjoying every detail of Harry's adventures, finished the book 3 more days or so after I did.

Harry Potter books deserve 5 stars for taking us all into a fun adventure in the magical world. Hurray to Ms. JK Rowlings!

Summary: The Best Book on Earth
Review: If you like books about wizards and fantasies and adventures, then you should get Harry Potter. Start with the first book and move up to the fourth book, one of the greatest of them all. Mysteries await at Hogwarts School of Wizarding and Witchcraft. There is a tournament being held. It is one of the best of the Harry Potter series. You have to get it.

Summary: Absolutely amazing
Review: This book, I feel, is definitely a worthy sequel to the first three. The characters continue to develop, Harry's new experiences (the Quidditch World Cup, for example) pique our interest, and new and better plot twists emerge. However, those who have not yet read this book should be warned that it is not like the others. This one is darker, as the author has warned us, and murder becomes a distinct theme and very real possibility for the characters, and for this reason may be a little advanced for the youngest readers. I would like to stress, though, that it is still not satanic (as some would have you believe); on the contrary, strong messages of trust and friendship are conveyed-- conveyed, not preached, there's a difference-- and the characters apparently observe Christian holidays.

The most unbelievable thing about this series is the complexity of the plots. During the seven-hour period I spent without food, sleep, or human contact so as to get through the whole thing (I just couldn't put it down), I stopped once in a while to wonder just how the author could possibly have come up with some of this stuff. Let's just hope she saved enough for the next three books.

Oh, and one more thing: does anyone else suspect Hagrid has an American accent?

Summary: ach. good glittery fun.
Review: it sort of hits you right here. you know where. rowling just knows what she's doing. now i can't say that potter has reached me on any extremely deep emotional or metaphysical level with some startling revelation about the mind or human nature, but it's just escapism at it's purest, cleanest, best. it rocks. i care about the characters, are familiar with them, believe in them, and yet on a whole it's so light that i can happily read the book and set it down without nightmares. that sort of carefree story-telling i haven't found anywhere else. so that's that. love these books!

Summary: Come on, this is Fantasy?
Review: This is suposed to be classic fantasy? I found hardly anything imaginative in the book at all. Read something that is imaginative and is well written. Something like Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series or CS Lewis, JRR Tolkien. All of those men have created entirely new worlds and they are much more imaginative. Blazing_Callandor@hotmail.com

Summary: For All Ages
Review: First off, I would like to put in the fact that I am fifteen years old -- three years more than the "recommended" 9 to 12 years of age. Despite this, I would have to agree that the Harry Potter books are excellent -- definitely for all ages.

The fourth Harry Potter book certainly lived up to the expectations set by its three predecessors. It was full of unexpected plot twists and excellent characterization -- in that, the characters are rather deep, unlike most literature for young readers.

Some people would claim that the Harry Potter books are satanic -- well, you can have your opinions. But *my* opinion is that these books lead to a world of magic, mystery, and enthralling excitement. *Not* devil-worship.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is definitely a must-read for any age.

Summary: 5 Stars!
Review: This was my first Harry Potter book, and I have to admit that although I'm not a teenager anymore, I really enjoyed this book. I decided to get the latest one to see what all the excitement was about. Now that I've read it, I can see why everybody is raving about these books. They're fun for everyone, from 8 to 80!

Summary: Thanks J.K. Rowling
Review: Reading the four books and hopefully being able to read the last three I have had a wonderful experience. Sad but true good book collections do not come very often. Not only are the Harry Potter books great, when you read them you get into your own world and you can realate to them even if you don't have a scar on your head and magic powers. I would recommend this book to the young and the old. I hope that the great author J.K. Rowling continues writing extrodinary books like Harry Potter and she can bet I will be the first in line to get my copy.
