Summary: Lots pyrotechnics but, JK, you can do better!
Review: Like so many other adults I have enjoyed following Harry through his first three years at Hogwarts. However, Ms. Rowling's latest installment came up quite short of her previous books. Her prose makes for easy reading and her knack for creating tension and anticipation are undeniable, but with "Goblet," she seems to haven fallen in a bit of formulatic trap: Harry is unhappy during his summer vacation - he gets back to Hogwarts and everyone is mean to him - Harry is in mortal danger - Hagrid needs cheering up - there is a show down with Voldemort which the rest of the wizard world never finds out about - Harry is comforted by his best friends. I think there was a great book in Goblet. Unfortunately, not enough time was devoted to the development of the characters of Harry, Ron & Hermione. Rather oddly, they were much more shallow in this latest installment. I'm cheering for Harry, and therefore, hope Ms. Rowling tightens up her writing in the several books.

Summary: The Best Book, ever!
Review: Harry Potter #4 is one of the best Books that I have ever Read. It is exciting, and does not make you confused. Harry Potter#1 was my favorite. If you have not read it, I telling you, your missing out on 1 wonderful book. But #4 is a book that inspriers you to believe in magic and dreams. It is not quite fanatasy, but it is actually more mystical.

Summary: I want to go to Hogwarts...
Review: It isn't often that an author produces a series of books where each new book is better than the last, but J. K. Rowling does it consistently. The Harry Potter books are wonderful for a variety of reasons, but the chief one is that Rowling writes what she would like to read. The Goblet of Fire is the longest and darkest of the series to date, but a brilliant transitional book. There were three passages in the book that literally reduced me to tears, while others made me laugh out loud. I am a 50 year old biology prof- but I am ready to go to Hogwarts at the drop of an owl post. If only...

Summary: WONDERFUL!
Review: When this book came out, I was incredibly anxious. I had my mom drive me to three bookstores - I finally found it at the third. I started reading it as soon as I got home, and I finished reading it the same day. I could NOT put it down. I was walking around reading it, I ate my dinner reading it, I even chose to take a bath instead of a shower so that I could continue reading it in the bathtub! This book is about twice the length of the third book, but the longer the better. It's a little darker than the other books, and geared a little bit towards older readers - it's got a swear or two, but not many - but it's just as wonderful as the others, if not more. I'm 14 years old, and I get a feeling these books are for readers from ages 8 to 108; there's really no age limit. There's a shocking ending - I won't tell you what; don't want to ruin the book. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it took quite awhile for the old gang to get back together again...I was tempted to skip the first chapter, but don't - if you do, you won't understand the rest of the book. However, the rest of the book by FAR makes up for the slow beginning.

Summary: Written with a sense of imagination and fun
Review: Sshh - the reading level of this book is 9-12, I really enjoyed it and I'm 34!

I grew up reading fantasy stories full of wizards and magic, elves and goblins, worlds where almost anything can happen. It's be wrong and unhelpful to compare this book to say Lord of the Rings (this is a children's book whereas Lord of the Rings is not). In Goblet of Fire, J.K. Rowling has come up with another excellent tale that is entertaining and fun to read. Compared to the previous three Harry books this one is a little darker with the reader holding his/her breath as Harry moves from adventure to adventure.

Our hero is getting older, he's growing and learning new things and that is the deeper message of this book. As we grow and develop we will experience a whole range of new things, being in groups and teams, the need for friendship, the importance of working towards the goals we all set - whether as children or as adults.

If you're a fan of the previous books then you'll know what to expect of the fourth, the depth of story, the twists and turns in the plot. You will be excited and amused with shouting team badges, wand duels, quirky humour and pun after pun. J.K. Rowling writes with a great talent, these books are written with a sense of imagination and fun that immediately appeal to children of all ages - even those who are 34!

Summary: Two Thumbs Up!
Review: I never liked reading very much before I read the Harry Potter books. The Goblet of Fire was the most exciting of all four books. I really like how the person you would least expect winds up being the one who 'did it'. When I read the first book, I was totally hooked. Now I can't wait until another one comes out.

Summary: It`s entertaining yes, but didn`t you expect a little more?
Review: What`s it with Harry? Why we cannot stop reading it? Why it has capture the spare free hours we have? I do not know the answer, but perhaps the possibilty ro run aloof at Hogwarts for a few moments or cheer Ireland to win the final...

Nonetheless, I expected a bit more. It`s interesting the new twist (Ron and Harry`s fights, the realisation that girls now exist not only as pals but also as objects od desire, the jealousness, and yes, I would love to meet a veela)

I do not find a solid plot (what about Voldermort and Wormtail: arent we talking here about the eternal good vs evil fight?, Their presence is scattered and their are seldom plotted as the very bad guys we love to hate.

But Harry it`s like a drug: you must take it, you are trapped to it, and its good!

A little bit of fun in this gray life is worth the effort

Summary: The whole plot is unexpected but also unreasonable
Review: I had to control myself from jumping to the last page because I wanted to enjoy each page. Each page itself is enjoyable but not the aftertaste. It doesn't fit the criterium of "unexpected but reasonable" of a perfect fiction. If Voldemort can use the strategy by the end, why not anytime earlier and any place other than Hogwarts? After reading this one, I'm more eager to see the 5th book, just hopping the 5th can be better than this one. I agree with some readers that the third is the best followed by the first and then the second. The fourth, although funny and exciting, but a little bit less.
