Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Chivalry Lives Review: The "Harry Potter" series is the most outstanding set of books I've read in some time. Most fantasy authors tend to bore you with trying to use such in depth language that you lose sight of the stories theme. As a Christian, I am using the "Potter" books to teach my children in a way they can relate to of the daily trials of life. Good against Evil has been mankinds greatest feat. What side to choose. Do you follow what is easy or do you fight for the convictions you believe to be right and just. I recently had to fly across the Nation (U.S.A.) for a family illness. In hand was the fourth book in the "Harry Potter" series. Elderly Gentlemen were asking me (I'm 38) about the book. They were excited. Several commented that it has their Grandchildren reading. We need to encourage our youth to read. If we can find books as exciting and enchanting as these, than let's keep going. As a child I read books by C.S. Lewis and others that helped me to understand life a lot better. My Mother bought me book one of "Harry Potter" and I scowled. This is a kids book I told her. Then I finally read it. Wow! I could hardly wait to see what would happen next. I blasted thru the first 3 books then had to wait (Anxiously) for 6 months for book 4. They say if it is worth having it is worth waiting. Well I truely agree. I now await the rest of the series, while I try to find books of interest from others. I may live in the year 2000, but I love things like Kings and Queens, Southern Belles, etc. Why, beecause Chivalry Lives, even in the 21st Century Star Trek Era. Live, Love, Laugh and enjoy a Honest Life. Serve other's the way Harry does and you will be Happy.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Awesome Story Review: Even better than the first three, this book has a great timeline, and J. K. Rowling's style is great. If you buy just one book in the future, this is future.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Not for children only Review: If you have a child under 13, you probably have this book (and the other three) lying around your house. Find them and read them - in order, of course. If you don't have a child under 13, buy them, because you're going to have a long wait at the library. The Harry Potter series is a lot of fun. It's fluff, but it's entertaining and well written fluff. It isn't as smarmy as some children's fiction can be, and for that reason it isn't good for very young readers. If your 7 year old desperately wants the book, read it to him or her and be prepared to discuss things like lying to parents, cheating, death and evil. Also be prepared to spend a LOOOONG time on the book - it's over 700 pages. If your children love Harry Potter, it's a great opportunity to start them on other wonderful children's books, like those written by Madeline L'Engle, Cynthia Voigt, C.S. Lewis, and many others.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Best Yet! H.P. 4 is EXCELLENT! Review: The title says it all. J.K. has done it again, actually topping the Prisoner of Azkaban with another masterpiece!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: My Son Reads! Review: I just love this author. She has captured my son's imagination and he devoured this 4th book in only 6 weeks. (Considering the length of the book, that is really wonderful.) He has read all of the Harry Potter books and can't wait for the next installment of Harry, Hogwarts, Hagrid and all of the rest. If you are a parent and haven't read these books for yourself you are really missing out on something special. They are extremely detailed and researched. Bravo! to J.K. Rowling. Keep up the good work and hurry with the next year at Hogwarts!

I would recomend this book to anyone age 9 and up. And for the cynical adult who thinks a childrens book can not hold their interest, well I dare you to read the first chapter and not be hooked. Harry Potter is the perfect adult escape from bills, taxes, laundry, dishes, yard work and traffic jams. Oh and if you are a parent looking for something for your kids to read while they wait for Potter #5. I would recommend anything by Zilpha Keatley Snyder, inparticular "The Headless Cupid" or "The Egypt Game". This was my favorite author at age 11 and I think kids who like Potter will like her stories as well!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Revenge of the Muggles Review: I have decided to write my review on the most mystifying fact about Harry Potter- The Ban. The leading complaint is that Harry Potter 'promotes witchcraft' But, why does that matter? It isn't like we can get ideas from the book and hex our friends, is it? If this was true, I would have long since bought out most of Diagon Alley. Another prospect is that if your children honestly believe this world exists, then you have more problems that just witchcraft to worry about! Another point to ponder, as they say, is the man behind most of the banning HAS NEVER EVEN READ THE BOOK! He claims it is 'clearly unappropriate for all Christians and I don't need to read it to know that' I am a Christian and a Harry Potter fan, and I don't see any conflict whatsoever in the two. [...] Thank you for reading my review. I hope you liked the book, too.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Big Disappointment Review: I guess I got spoiled reading first 3 books with my daughter. They were funny, entertaining, suspenseful, good story lines. Not this one. From chapter one it feels like the writer was strugling with the plot, never quite sure where to turn next. The suspense element is not quite there, and becomes quite ridiculous at the announcement of participants in the tournament. Sadly, J.K. Rowling slows the tempo of this book to a crawl, filling pages after pages with pointless dialogs, meaningless situations, and colorless characters.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: EXCELLENT Review: This was a great book. I would recommend it to all. I would also recommend reading the first 3 books, or you would get the full impact of the book. All I can say is, I don't know if the 5th book can get any better, but I'll still look forward to it.
