Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire Review: You HAVE to read this book! No matter how old you are. I tell you, it will be a classic one day. I've read the whole lot (about 10 times) and it is the best series I have ever read! I couldn't put any of them down! I finally convinced my mum to read it (after much deliberation; "It's a kids book! I don't wanna read a kids book!") and she adores them. She's read them more times than me! Out of a hundred I would give this book (and the rest of the series) 100 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 (and more). Really, you have to read it, no matter what. (but don't order it from here 'cause it costs heaps 'cause of shipping) I hope you like it!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Overall good, but the plot drags Review: I'm not sure why J.K. Rowling made this book so LONG. It's over 700 pages. I don't really have a problem with long books if that's the amount of space they need to write a compelling story, but this plot drags in too many places. There were several times where I began to get bored and had to force myself to keep reading, or where I became so distracted that I had to re-read the same part because I hadn't been interested enough to pay attention. This book could have been edited down to a much quicker, more compelling story.HOWEVER, other than that I think it was a wonderful novel. It had all the creative, fascinating elements that made the first 3 so great. Floo powder, blast ended skrewts, the students from Durmstrang and Beauxbatons, the Weasley family, etc. are all unforgettable elements. This sequel was also much darker than the other 3, particularly at the end. This didn't bother me, actually I thought it was awesome, but it might be a bit difficult for parents to explain to young children. First of all, several characters are killed, including an innocent old man and a student at Harry's school, who readers have grown to like. The evil Lord Voldemort stages a terrifying, and successful, return to power, involving a disturbing dark ritual which includes self mutilation by one of his followers. Voldemort then rounds up his followers and attempts to kill Harry in a rather terrifying scene. However, this end scene is also one of the best parts of the book. It is powerful and well written, drawing the reader in and leaving you unable to stop until the last page. This ending was what made the whole book worthwhile to me, because this is where everything comes together into a cohesive whole (not just elements of this book, but of all the 4 Harry Potter novels), answering most of the questions but leaving enough open for the next sequel to continue. This series is growing from an innocent tale of a young boy who discovers he has amazing powers and legendary parents, to a powerful story of good vs. evil, much like the "Star Wars" movies. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good sci-fi, fantasy, children's novel, or just a good story overall.

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: HANG ON A MINUTE! (AND LISTEN UP) Review: Before you start your review on this book, think carefully about what you say so you won't look like a complete ignoramus. Anyone who says this book is UNREALISTIC, is in for a big shock. IT'S FANTASY - OF COURSE IT'S UNREALISTIC. Though this book was double the size of Book 3 and took a while to get started, when it does, you CANNOT put it down. Harry is just as adorably confused as before (even more so, with the introduction of Cho) Ron is just as degraded and envious as always (watch out for sparks between the 2!)and Hermione (how the HECK do you say her name?) is just as brainy and intense as before (new word - S.P.E.W). You can expect that little you-know-what Draco Malfoy to be as hideous as his name and his clonies, Crabbe and Goyle (what convenient names) to be as lamebrained as always. Rita Skeeter is a real WITCH and Hagrid gets a taste of romance. For all Quidditch fans - you can look forward to Harry being on the sidelines in this book, as he cheers on Ireland in the Quidditch World Cup, coming to you at a lovely deserted moor. With Anti-Muggle charms and the introduction of Portkeys, you would expect nothing to go wrong. But expect just the opposite! The only thing I can't understand is why they have a Muggle smack dab in the centre of this. You'll know what I'm talking about when you read the book. A nice, new touch to the Hogwarts scene is Rita Skeeter, reporter for the Daily Prophet. The book is filled with her articles, made very untruthful by her Quick-Quotes Quill. Three of our favorite characters get dragged through the mud! Ah, l'amore! Finally, Harry is acting like a normal boy, having set his eyes on Cho, fellow Ravenclaw Seeker, and a fifth year. Three new words - Auror, Death-Eater and the Dark Mark. Three new magic words - Priori Incantatem, the Pensieve and Veritaserum. Also, the return of Padfoot and Wormtail. Filled to the brim with new things, this book will be read and reread despite its size. Enjoy!

Review: ok, so many Chrisitans have slammed this book as anti-Christian and stuff saying how children have joined the church of satan and wish to put curses on their muggle teachers for giving them low grades. but hello? does the entire community reading harry potter think so? i for one am not in a BIG hurry to spell anyone nor learn these curses. why? because i just don't! if anyone had any common sense, they would realise that harry potter does not have those 'zap dead everyone' messages and we see sacrifices, friendship, human-rights and lots more, why can't people see that? i guess it has to do with each individual, how they read the book and i as a Christian, have not seen my spiritual life go down the drain because i just read the book to enjoy it. just read the book and judge for yourself, it is really a waste if j.k rowling stopped the publishing of harry potter because some people cannot judge right from wrong.

I found this in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." I felt like I was 12 years old again. I would recommend this book to anyone ranging from young to older new readers to those of all ages. The plot and themes associated with this book have demonstrated the why it is no surprise that this book is so popular throughout our small globe. Go Harry Go! Richard Mudrinich

Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Utter Stupidity, This book deserves -2 stars Review: Hello all you blathering fools who actually think this is a decent work of literature. Let me just say that this piece of downright insanity may very well be the downfall of human society. Not only is this atrocity fiction, but it plays upon the vulnerable minds of young children across America. I mean, really, does anybody care about some half-witted, magic-weilding dope of a child? I'm sorry, but all of you people who actually enjoyed this nonsensical creation are just gullable in the first degree! Why don't you read some real books, such as the literature by Stephen Ambrose, whose books remind us of our brave and courageous forefathers who gave their very lives to keep this country free. Or how about a fine Shaara novel that documents the entire Civil War, an event that changed the history of these United States that we live in, and owe so much for. Unfortunately, too many children are taking for granted this glorious country in which we reside. Therefore, I would ask that all Americans boycott the foolish Harry Potter series, and begin to fully comprehend the sacrifices made in order to keep this the UNITED States of America!
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: THIS BOOK IS AN ATROCITY Review: Okay folks, once again a piece of utter trash has been purchased like its going out of style. Why would anyone want to read this garbage? When I picked up this book, thought I would get some enjoyment out of it. Not so, I was disgusted by its sheer lack of suspense, thrills, or intelligent plots. The book is so scripted a two year old could see through it. Its amazing that such nonsense appeals to my fellow Americans. We need to get out of this cultist craze and move into riviting stories that show the hard work and determination put forth by real individuals, in real settings. Here is my interpretation of the book: 1. Harry faces challenges at school, home, and in life. 2. Amazingly, through magic, he solves all his problems. You've just read the book, so don't bother wasting your valuable income on this foolishness.
